Not true my frined :) I actually hit the redline and the red dot started flashing, I hit 219mph and went into 6th gear, instead of moving up or staying the same it went down to 214mph.

You have to tune it to 670bhp in order to get to 224 mph out of it. Which is still no-where near the 240mph benchamark. Also the zr-1 stock can do 213mph. Lol. Oh well, guess it's a bug or something.

Oh yes it is true, that happens when your engine doesn't have enough torque to get it through the last and longer gear... This just means your maximum speed is set too high for the BHP your engine has or you are too heavy. Which probably isn't the case. So, you are either lacking BHP or your gears are set too high. Personal experience + fact...
 
Well the car is stock, has 632 bhp and the gears haven't been fiddled with in any way, the top speed standard in the gears estimation is 217mph.

But thanks for the heads up anyway.

No problem, buddy. Since it's stock, it might be a bug. I'm not sure. But normally it is lack of power or your gears are set too long. :)
 
311mph by drafting in a X1.

Without drafting, about 285-290mph.

265 In a Veyron, and that wasn't even with a new oil change. Also, I managed to do 235 in the FGT in 6th gear, but then it kept slowing down in 7th.
 
if the gears were individually able to b adjusted im sure i get hondas up to 240 250

Had the X2010 up to 295 mph last night. Damned thing jerks the wheel back and forth going down a straightaway - takes most of the fun out of driving it.
 
289mph in a ZR1 while drafting the X2010. Will be trying Enzo next.

I have experienced that

the first 10 times its fun especially trying to get the draft but then the x2010 gets kind of boring.
 
i went 896mph @ Indianapolis with a NASCAR...obviously it was some sort of glitch because it was the best buy demo of 2010. thankfully, its not in the game.

I'm doing top speed runs in 35 of the fastest cars in game, will take a very long time, the top ten fastest cars will have their stock speeds posted with only oil changed.
No concepts though, or race cars, just production/ex production vehicles.

Same speed, same car, but I had my draft from an RM'd Elise and this was on Indy (SuperSpeedway).

When I get an oil change it takes time for the car to decrease it's bhp. This should take a bit longer, and the top 5 fastest cars in the top 10 will be chromed and put in my gallery :D Little boredom project sort of thing going on I know.
 
310 MPH on the X1. It was what kept me entertained in the Indy 500. That and plowing into other cars >_>
 
500 km/h in an X2010 at Indy. Caught a lucky draft along the straight and accelerated pretty hard before hitting the rev limiter.
 
Fastest speed I've got so far, thanks to an opponent's slipstream, was 205 MPH in a lightly-tuned Murcielago SV.
