Well, I was always in love with Japanese cars, but it had to be the....

Honda NSX Type-R

Loved it since I was a kid.

Just wondering Paulie, Did you vote for Holden? If so, we're the two who voted. No surprises there.:D

Yep. Most other Holden fans on the site don't even frequent these forums, I only glance in once in a while. Like I said, GM on the whole is doing well so far though.:)

I felt kind of like a traitor, but I picked BMW... Feel, power delivery, ergonomics, everything just seems right.

Lulz. Once bitten, you never go back.

My favourite manufacturer at present is actually Fisker, but for lack of that option I will go to it's closest sibling - Aston Martin. Their cars are stunningly gorgeous and clean, sound absolutely fantastic (especially the base V8V model) their classics to die for, and continuously they have proved themselves not only as a amazing GTs but also hellishly fast when placed in gruelling competition:

Favourite manufacture of all time? Hmmm it's a toss up between Alfa Romeo and Datsun. I think the fact that Alfa is still making stunning cars and that Datsun turned into Nissan made my decision for me though. It's gotta be Alfa.

Im going for Subaru I think. Something about those rally STI's that I just love. Saw a really nice one at school the other day. Black WRX with black rims, covered in STI, looked unreal!

I went for Porsche. The 996 Turbo is still my dream car since it's release and I still actually dream of thrashing a Gemballa Bi-Turbo GTR 650. :D You could let me drive that for 10 laps, take me out of the car and drag me to a field, shoot me dead and I'd still be happy knowing I drove that before I went out.

opted with FIAT (because there was no gillet)

Mazda. their sportscars still are light ( latest MX-5 with the metallic folding hard top is 1160kg ), they have something quirky in their line up ( RX-models ), and their main production models seem to do well. (Mazda 2,3,6 etc etc and their sports models)

Lotus :), i know nothing about them but the S2 Elises & Exiges are oh so sexy.

Small & curvaceous :)

In the immortal words of John Cleese ...... "And now for something completely different"

My vote was based not so much on a particular car model, but rather, the car manufacturer's culture, integrity, inspiration, conciousness and global savy.

Honda is the cleanest car company in the world. They have the highest average fuel economy of any line-up. Most importantly, they have done this without sacrificing style and excitement. Their cars often have the highest resale value in the marketplace simply because they are built better and are worth more.

They were the first to market with dozens of features including 4-wheel steering, navigation systems, variable valve timing, hybrid technology, CNG vehicles and a host of others. Their Formula1 heritage is well documented (in spite of most recent dissappointments). They kicked Toyota's butt in Champ Car, followed them to IRL and did the same. The company is actually the largest engine manufacturer in the world. Their factories are filled with equipment designed and manufactured by Honda and are found in 39 countries around the world. They were the first Japanese manufacturer to build here in the US and the first US car company to export right-hand drive cars to Japan. They are first and foremost, an engineering company, whose mission statement starts with "To be a company that society WANTS to exist". People who have owned Hondas are Honda lovers for life ... they very rarely dissappoint.
From day one, the customer has always come first.

As a company, it is run with a unique management style pioneered by Soichiro Honda himself, known as the "Honda Philosophy". This basic premise above all else values the contributions of it's associates and encourages the ideas and contributions of all. They are very well rewarded and treated with respect. As a 25 year veteran, I had the least seniority in my business peer group.

To sum up, it's a great company making a wide variety of great and fun products, not just cars. The thing that they all have in common is state of the art engines :)

You make many valid points. Let us not forget their design and construction (with the aid of F1 Legend Ayrton Senna) of Japan's first true supercar - the legendary Honda NSX. 👍

Gotta love it...First place, Porsche. Second, Honda.

Edit: And Bugatti is in third. Fanboys much?

I voted BMW. Yes not all their cars are great, and I do hate their use of run-flats with a passion but they do make some great and beautiful cars. Also their Efficient Dynamics technology is great, way better than most of the other car manufacturers ideas for improving fuel consumption.

Mine was a choice between Mazda for all the reasons above and Alfa Romeo, and in the end I went with Alfa. I've always loved their cars, the sound of their engines, the performance, the look, the feel inside and their rich heritage. All they were lacking was a high performance model and with the 8C they solved even that recently. I've been a fan of the marque since 1994 when I saw Gabriele Tarquini dominating the BTCC in an Alfa 155.

My favourite Alfa at the moment though would have to be a 159 Ti in Rosso Competizione. There's no better looking small exec saloon at the moment.
