Everyone has a favorite car in their life. If law and money wasn't an issue, there's always a car that you have continued to love for whatever reason it is. Beauty, speed, technology, or *gasp* gas milage! Where did you first see this car? What caught your eye, that made it so different from the others? What made it stick out from the crowds of Camry's and Ford's?

For me, it would be the Nissan Skyline GTR R34. I was six year's old. In the world where everyone loved Lamborghini's and Ferrari's. But I really liked the street tuner culture, you know, the stuff from The Fast and The Furious. Back then, that was my favorite movie, still is in fact. And that movie sparked an interest in my small boy head, as it did with many other people. Suddenly, cars like the Mazda RX-7 and Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX filled the spots of the Lamborghini Murcielago and Ferrari F40. Need For Speed was a perfect example of this. Their most recent game at that point was Hot Pursuit 2, which I played the hell out of, and which the most practical car was a BMW M5. Then after FnF, Need for Speed released a new title. Need for Speed Underground. This took illegal street racing to the next level. They ditched the cops and took night racing instead. This game gave you points for ricing your car out, which was something every little boy enjoyed.

Now, you unlocked the cars by progressing through the game. There were all these sorts of cars in there, but most of them would be hard to spot in a traffic jam. Then at the very end of the game, you unlocked one new car. Something so pretty, it was almost a crime. The Nissan Skyline. For me, it caught my attention right away with the massive wing on the back. Up to this point, I have never even heard of the car. But boy was it a joy. I then realised that it was an Iconic symbol. It appeared on almost all racing games from there on. In fact, the only game that didn't have it that I played was NFS Most Wanted, and they put it right back in the next game. GT has had it since GT2, and to this day, it still stands as my favorite car. In fact, I have five or six R34's in GT5 right now.

In a more realistic sense, it would easily be my 4th-gen Accord. Great mix of practicality, performance potential and - at least in my opinion - looks. I've just always loved that '80s/'90s Japanese/Euro box-flared styling.

My ultimate dream car is an early NSX. Again, gorgeous looks, but it's got that superb performance of an MR. I dont need anything hugely powerful. Like someone said in the FF appreciation thread, it's just more exciting to drive a slow car fast. Never saw one in real life until high-school after I moved to Colorado, there is one of each body style in town. Always been a 'get it ASAP!' car in the GT games though. Fortunately this car isn't terribly difficult to obtain, so I plan to actually own one some day. Slap on a cat-back exhaust to pronounce the sound a bit, some Enkei RPF1s, and then just enjoy the car for what it is.

Mercedes CLS55/63 AMG. Sleek, class and makes one hell of a good noise. Plus, it does everything I need in a vehicle. Fast, practical, comfortable and of course has enough toys to keep one busy. :D

If you don't really car what car I post, I will say the Chevrolet Corvette C6R.

I love the noise (same since 1999 I'd bet), the speed (despite the reduced power compared to its GT1 predecessor, trap speeds at Le Mans are almost the same) and just how badass this thing looks.

Lamborghini Miura. The best looking and coolest car ever made. Fact. The first and so far best supercar.

On my way home from work one day, there was an Audi R8 in my rearview window most of the way home. I kept wondering what it is? Almost lost vision of the road ahead of me a few times. I finally slowed and got alongside this captivating profile of automotive engineering. And, man did it blow me away, I've been fascinated by it ever since.

This pic of course resides as my desktop wallpaper since that encounter, haven't seen one since.

That one favourite car... Weell, that's tough. Like, insanely tough, because there is a huge load of cars that I'd love to own at some point of my life. Quite often, I find myself to be obsessed with a given car for a while and move on to another for a bit, and so on. It's really hard to pick one...

Actually, a few years ago, I would have posted the Mine's BNR34 N1, as I fell in love with it when I first used it in Gran Turismo and started to investigate it a bit more...
BNR34N1_IMG_765.jpg

I've always loved the insane performance that tuning companies got out of the R34, that muscular design, the aggressive styling. And... Nobody really knew what it was!
And then, it all changed... The Fast and the Furious came along, and all of a sudden, everyone wanted a Skyline. It became immensely popular in no time at all, but with 'the wrong crowd', if I may say so. The kind of people that's more likely to put neons under a car and lambo style doors on it. And it really started to turn me off, bit by bit. Everytime I said I wanted to somewhen own a R34 GT-R, it was always the same... "A what?" they would ask. "A Nissan Skyline R..." was what I would try to reply. "Ahh, the one from FaF, rigth?!"

So, afterwards I got sucked in with Nissan's S-Chassis, the S15, mostly. The Rauh Welt S15 is still a car that has me drooling!
4068604211_4d13985cae_o.jpg

Now, you might ask, what happened to that? Well... Drifting, I guess. I still like it, but its popularity as a drift car has really started to annoy me. It's basically the same thing as with the GT-R. The only difference is, instead of "FaF", you'll be hearing "yeah, that drift car". And, again, it's starting to get annoying that it got so well known...

Moving on from the S15, the next car that sparked my interest was the BMW E46 M3 CSL. The car had it all...
bmw-m3-csl.jpg

The performance, the styling, the heritage. And it was on GT4, where I would take it around the Nordschleife, endlessly. It was performing so well in that game, too. It was the car that actually, more or less, sparked my interest in BMWs, so to speak.

Since then, I never really had a clear-cut favourite anymore, just a car that stood out a bit from the rest.

One of those cars would be this one:
400r-4.jpg

Nissan's Nismo 400R. Only 99 have ever been made. It's a GT-R, so it's bound to be fast. It's no your 'cooky cutter' R34, that everybody and their mother knows about.

Then, there were short periods of time when I was heavily into the Hachiroku, the NSX-R, the Impreza WRX STI (GDF), the Hakosuka and Kenmeri Skylines, the Golf R, the Mercedes-Bent 190E 2.5-16 Evolution II, the BMW M3 E30, the BMW M3 E92, the Mitsubisho lancer Evo VI. And there's also the Porsche GT2 RS, the GT3 RS 4.0... And soon, there will be the new BMW F10 M5.

Another car that deserves a special mention would probably be Nakai-San's Tunerhaus Rauh Welt Begriff Porsche 993.
1920big.jpg

That car is just... Well, look at the picture. That should explain. It basically stands for RWB Porsche in general, not just that one in particular.

Now, when everything is said and done, it's almost completely impossible for me to chose a single favourite car. There's so many of them that I would absolutely love to drive, let alone own. So many cars that are insanely beautiful, so many cars that I could dream about every night.

Now, if I actually had to make up my mind and chose a single car as my favourite, which, I'd have to go with this one:
modp_0909_02_o+amuse_nissan_380rs_superleggera+front_view.jpg

modp_0909_03_o+amuse_nissan_380rs_superleggera+rear_view.jpg

Yet again, a Nissan, a tuned one, to boot. But the 380RS has been a very, very fascinating car to me, straight from its launch. I started to like the Z33 quite a bit over the course of its life, and I thought it was just about the real deal when I learned about the 380RS. And then, Amuse came and made it even lighter, even mroe aggressive looking, even better. A rear wheel driven coupe, light. Focused on handling over power, and yet, plenty fast.

And, how do I put it? It even looks exactly like what I like my cars to look. It looks agressive, functional, mechanical. It's not art in the way that a painting would be considered art, it's not actually 'beautiful' I guess... But it's that rough, form-follows-funtion look that makes me like its looks so much, as it adds so much to the lines of the Z33. To me, it's the most beautiful car in the world...

Uh, yeah, that really turned out to be longer than I intended it to be
Sorry about the rant and the pictures...

My favourite car was the Maserati GranTurismo (first seen on TopGear magazine-cover), but once the Maserati GranCabrio was released, that easily became my favourite car. The GranTurismo is beautiful, but the GranCabrio is Astonishingly beautiful. (Plus, performance is good too (on both.)

If ever there was a car I've had a love affair with all my life, it's this one:

1963%20Corvette%20Split%20Window%20coupe.jpg

One car that I've loved above all others. Its form flows. It performs. It's outdated in all respects. And I still love it.

EDIT: There is one other...

It looks awesome, (in GT5 & Crash Time 3) is crazy fun, and today, while i was looking over the parking lot full of black, grey, silver, and white cars, a brand new C350 Sport (EXACTLY like the one in the picture) came out of nowhere.

Me likey.

EDIT: I like this, too:

For me, it's always been the flagship Lambos. Ever since I sat in a Diablo 6.0 at the Adelaide Motor Show (I was 5 at the time). It all really came together though when the Murcielago was launched in MY02. That original V12 will be sorely missed.

Weirdly though my favourite used to be the Dodge Viper GTS Coupe. Insanely rare car here (only one from what I've seen has been for sale in the past 5-10 years and I've never seen one. Seen SRT10s and RT10s but never the GTS), jaw-dropping to look at and it had a huuuuuge V10 under the bonnet.

Ferrari F40. I dont think it needs explaining.

Yup, that car is very nice. My friends friend owns one.

Luminis-I'd rather not quote you, because it'll take up a whole page, but yeah, I hate the whole ricing thing that happened after The Fast and The Furious. It was so hard to find a photo of the R34 on the internet that wasn't destroyed by Gullwings and Neon. All my friends say they are going to put in Neon, roof-scoops and fart can's on there cars when they get one. Needless to say I think they'll go broke before a year.

Why, you ask? It's quirky, it's Italian, it has four seats and space in the back, classic carb'd V12, an in it's hey day, it was fastest 4-seater in the world until M5 came along. And nowadays, decent examples go for no more than ~30k.

My utmost favourite car is and has always been the Lotus S2 Elise...

Though I first learned of it from GT2, it wasn't until I saw the Alarde in Midnight Club 2 when I truly began liking this car.

I don't care if it has a Toyota engine, if it's hard to get in nor if it's a Manual-only vehicle...

The body form is small, it's got sharp edges, sexy curves and it is easily distinguishable from others.

And for most of said reasons, I've also come to love the Mini Cooper... small car and easily distinguishable.

Both are UK and look extremely fun to drive.

As with many other kids growing up in the 90's, it was undeniable. The Ferrari F-50 was THE dream car of it's day.

^I remember that from NFS: High Stakes  I have too many favourites to decide upon one, but it would either be Italian or Japanese...

I hate how people love the F40 but the F50 doesn't get enough love. I was part of the F50 generation and as a kid it was the best car ever, it symbolized Ferrari for me.
I have many favorites, but my most favorite one would probably be the 930. Why? Because it looks awesome, boxy but has curves, those wide wide rear tires and has the widowmaker reputation.
I mean, just look at it:

This car will always be my dream car.

Obsidian Black Pearl Version 8 or 9 STi with gold Advan RGII wheels.

BlackVersion8.jpg

Yeah. I would have taken a new one in GT5 but you can't change wheels on standard models and the Version 10 isn't the right car.

McLaren F1 for sure.

The first time I heard about it was when I used to play Need for Speed Hot Pursuit 2. The car was categorized as THE top car of ALL the cars of the game. At first I thought, okay, thas cool but I imagine there's gotta be neater stuff than that. Being 2001, when the web wasn't as rich with info as it is today, I looked up to see if there was anything faster than an F1, found nothing. The F1 was heralded as THE supercar of the time! A Car that IS king, now THAT is my car right there!!

It has the ideal linings that desire in my dream supercar, the perfect curves, the commanding presence that demands respect and reverence, a lionesque roaring engine, and it's noble appearance, ooh yeah, THAT's my car.

Oh yeah, I am also a nut for the color blue, the color of my Scuderia in Gran Turismo games, heehee. ^^*

The Mclaren F1 really still is THE best supercar, at least for me. Forget about tech, forget about the Veyron, a car that held the production car speed record for such a long time is really something, without looking weird and having the handling capabilities to go with it.

C4 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

When I was growing up, this was the "big deal" car that I remember most. I had multiple posters of the car, every issue of every magazine with this ZR-1 on the cover. Screw Ferrari and Porsche, this was the supercar that I wanted. From the outset, the ZR-1 was the first "European-style" sports car that GM had really attempted to do. Although the Corvette was clearly European inspired, this one took a tech-heavy approach that sought to even the score with the masters from across the pond. GM's acquisition of Lotus had a lot to do with the development of the vehicle, from the DOHC LT5 to the early electro-magnetic suspension, they ran their fingers over the already decade old design to breathe new life into the car.

The car was fast, handled well, and was rather comfortable. It was a $60,000 car in 1990, and was one of the most-expensive models available until the latter end of the C5 generation. I'd still say the ZR-1 is my most-desired Corvette, and would likely choose one over the current ZR1 (note the lack of a '-').

No, it is not the best-looking or the most-powerful Corvette, but as the opening salvo of a globally competitive Corvette line, the ZR-1 sits among my favorites overall.

The 2008 Mercedes-Benz CL65 AMG. The first time I saw this car, I said "wow". The front of this car is just stunning. It seems like the whole car just flows and it's beautiful. I'm a big fanatic of this car, even my PSN is mbenzcl65amg09, and my avatar is this beauty. No car has gotten close to topping this car as my favorite and no car probably will, for a long time.

Right then, it's time for a HUGE dilemma to erupt here. This is just a list, not all cars might be included.

Cizeta V16T because...well, think about what I'll say. ;)
Mitsubishi Evo because it is just an awesome thing and has been since 92 (HKS CT230R melts into this since it's a tuned Evo 7)
Alfa Giulia TZ2 partially through GT5 and partially through general prettyness :D
Lamborghini Diablo because
Fiat Nuova 500 for being too cool for a city car
Mitsubishi 3000GT because it's got huge power :D
Ford GT for being a BAMF
Honda CR-Z for actually being a decent hybrid (don't shoot!!!!!)
Peugeot RCZ for actually being a decent Peugeot (don't shoot!!!!! Again :()
Nissan Skyline GT-R because everyone has to like it. That's the law :D Although seriously it is just such a great car in every single possible department :D
Lexus LFA for being another great all rounder. :)

That's just a select number of them. I have many other cars I like - some racers unfortunately.

I have 4 the AE86. I just can't explain why I love this car so much.
The F50. The car looks fantastic and I've loved it since I can remember.
The 80's 911. Just the shear shape of the body.
The EVO 6 TME. I'm a huge fame of 2nd gen evo and Tommi Makkien so this car just combinds the two. I rember watching the WRC when I was like 5 just seeing that red Evo domanate.
