How do you feel about EA's new need For speed. think it's another disappointment or will it be a game as (how I feel) good as Need For Speed Underground 2.👍 or 👎. So far, based on Carbon and Prostreet (I found them as a disappointment because it lacked the amount upgrades in the body like in Underground 2. Plus for Carbon, there weren't any drag races.
What those anyone else have to say about there latest game.

I agree, we haven't seen enough. I couldn't stand all the rice in Underground 2, and I'm honestly sick of all these low-end, dime-a-dozen cars. EA really needs to get back to making a true exotic/sports car racer, it's been too long since we've had one.

I was hoping they would go back to exotic/sports cars since the last couple games flopped. :indiff:
Only going on what's been shown alone, nearly all of the suspected cars are all sports cars. So far, the lowest end sports cars revealed, or suspected are a '98 Supra MK4 & a '05 Audi TT 3.2. Everything else is pretty damn amazing. No 240SXs, Clios, Eclipses, or the sort have been shown.

When you combine this w/ the return of the police & the fact that the bodykits don't look like **** (and that you don't have to mod), I think this is going to be a step in the right direction for NFS to return to its roots. High-end sports cars, cop chases, no forced modifying, it all sounds a lot like an older NFS game.

I'm hyped.

they said carbon will be better, it wouldnt
they said pro street will be better, it wouldnt
they are saying undercover will be better, it wont.

I'm sick of hoping good things for nfs games. IMO nfs serie has been destroyed after nfs porsche. I will buy Midnight Club: LA this year.

True that.

Figure of opinion there, plus you've never played Undercover so your opinion means about as much as #2 on the sidewalk. I don't recall EA throwing those claims out either for Undercover and I've been reading most of their releases. They're actually not hyping this game. We're only a few months from the release, and only a very small handful of screenshots has appeared. Def. not the type of way EA advertises their NFS games. I think this one may turn out to be pretty good.

As I've told others, it has a Most Wanted feel, and a lot of people seemed to had taken a liking to Most Wanted.

I just hope the new physics are good for low-speed cruising. If there was one thing I didn't like about Most Wanted, the driving physics ,with their twitchyness and auto-brake, were it.

I will be very happy if I will be wrong after the game released.
but I dont think so.
check this gameplay video
can you tell me that you see something really impressive and so exciting?
is this the game that open a new era in the nfs world?

Its supposed to be leaning toward the Hot Pursuit roots and IMO Hot Pursuit 2 was the best game of the series. I guess the chases will be quite intense because as an undercover cop you are chasing down people but you are also being chased by the cops. So you will need to lose the cops while you chase down your target.
Sounds like the closest game so far to Hot Pursuit 2. I guess we will see. There are a couple trailers on gametrailers.com.
The intense police escapes with helicopters, the spin around camera view on each major jump. Those were the days!! I would love to see a re-make of this game on the 360.

What a terrible video to make your final assumption. It's a demo, and it's just showing off 1 challenge. That's nowhere near enough for anyone to assume the game isn't impressive or exciting.

Ok now enough with the supercars and exotics its all about the tuners. I mean I would rather tune and modify my car the way I like it than be given a supercar and expect to race with it with out even having any good mods. Need for Speed is all about tuning and making your car faster the way you like and that is why Underground2 was the best out of all in the series.

Will you stop going to nfs threads and saying ricers kick supercars asses already?Need for speed 2 was the best.

Need For Speed was never about Rice racers. It was all about racing exotics. I DO LIKE the fact that your everyday cars have been included in the Series because I like to race something I see on my day to day activity. Im not in an exotic atmosphear. BUT I LIKE DO EXOTICS. So to me the combination of the two are wonderful. UMMM.... PLZ make them bring back replays. I like seeing the skills I use when I kick butt.

HOW ever. Need for speed rarely used Muscle cars. I think Id like

that.D_gamer725 in responce to your question.

I think EA gave a Rocket Launcher! with MW then hit us with Dud fire crackers with Carbon & ProStreet. But Hopefully they have heard the complaints and looked to the past for the highest praise to help make there corrections.

My Most Favorite NFS game. HIGH STAKES , Police chase, long range driving, damaged cars and my favorite....Being able to win the cars off of YOUR memory card.

But I guess you all are too young to have played that one.:guilty:

Oh yeah I think High Stakes is the only game I have seen that had the 1998-2002 Ram AIr Trans am. I dont know why they dont put that car into games.
Quick google images.

I street dragged one last week. It got a good look at my CTS-V badge :) But the WS6 has not been in too many games, just its sister the SS Camaro.

I think that the last couple of games were a sort of expensive market testing, I think that the next one will be different yet agian, becuase of the fact that the last ones got such a bad responce from hard-core gamers. (by hard-core i mean people who typically own more than 5 or 6 games, i include myself)

I had a chance to look in the latest edition of PlayStation Magazine on this title. Those of you who know me on GTPlanet know that I spare no expense to hammer home my point no matter how long the post. So let me make my own views based on what I've read and seen in pictures. This is not so much a direct view, but retrospect.

I've said about "Test Drive Unlimited" that I thought this is "what today's Need for Speed COULD be." Need for Speed was a game series in which we could race (let alone drive) some cars we may never get to drive in our entire lifetimes. I think of Road & Track Presents The Need for Speed SE. I think of the point-to-point races as I mostly did with the City. I remembered racing around that race track in a Dodge Viper RT-10 like in the PC demo to this game. I think of Need for Speed 2 SE that I've wanted to play for the longest. I could remember beating the almighty McLaren F1 around that Nepalese mountain track racing a Ford Indigo. And let's not forget having a great time racing while avoiding traffic. The magic waned a bit for NFS3 despite the nice variety of cars. I usually raced that Alfa Romeo concept car (or whatever company did that car). It was pretty fun trying to evade the cops. NFS: High Stakes only made things much more fun while NFS: Porsche Unleashed was a truly classical game.

Then comes "Need for Speed: Underground." It was a new direction for the series as you could basically race cars most normal people can own as well as cars most rich folks could afford. The further Electronic Arts shyed away from the classic roots of Need for Speed, the more the identity of the classic series waned. A real sense of racing was established again when "Need for Speed: Pro Street" offered a better diversion from the classic series.

Now... we come to "NFS: Undercover." You're basically the law trying to take down illegal street racers. Basically, this is EA's own "The Fast and the Furious." Taking a game franchise in a new direction is a risky one. Trying to keep a franchise afloat is a challenging one that rewards you with success. But as a self-proclaimed "racing game specialist," the last great Need for Speed game was either "NFS2SE" or "NFS: Porsche Unleased" based on your own views. "NFS: Pro Street" was a step in the right direction because I didn't feel like a criminal for once. Feeling like I'm part of a street racing gang really makes me feel like crap in these recent NFS games. Likewise, I don't want to assume the role of someone trying to make a difference. When it's a racing game we're talking about, I just want to race and win. It's an old-fashioned concept, but at least it's better than attracting ANY attention from the law. I didn't feel like a criminal even doing "Test Drive Unlimited." But no... I really get tired at times of Hollywood-type bulls:censored: in games like this and Burnout [since Burnout 3].

Do you know why Pro Street worked for me? While you could customize cars, while you could race a variety of venues, and while you could still have this illegal street racing element; it still felt like a proper racing game because of all you could do. I felt great knowing that I wasn't racing for street cred. I got annoyed at the illegal street racing references with Ryan Cooper in the game. I also got annoyed with the annoying announcers during races. It's like they tried to keep an illegal street racing feel, only not true illegal street racing. A negative to my statement is that I'm basically wanting to see a poor-man's Gran Turismo. I'm okay with the "dime a dozen" cars and the "ricing" of cars. Thing is... can't we just go back to racing and not have to put up with a silly storyline encouraging illegal racing or gang activity? It isn't worth trying to tell EA that the classic days of Need for Speed are what's needed to make an interesting game. This franchise has been burned by the flames of Hell. And if they are ever to acheive Heaven, they need to go back to the classic game formula and leave the illegal racing to Hollywood and various underground racing DVD programs and such.

I'll still probably play it, but I really wish this kind of thing get left behind. It's been around since about 1994. Think about the going-on 15-year history of this franchise. You go from a game all about some of the best of-the-moment supercars and exotics... to illegal street racing with a variety of cars from daily drivers to exotic toys, What kind of 15-year history is this sending? It's hard to convince ANYTHING to EA because they think they have an exclusive contract on life and humanity. They should be more concerned with properly evolving some of their other franchises than being fixated on illegal street racing for this series.

Chances are, NFS: Undercover will be a renter. I have NFS III:HP on this computer, and I have so many downloaded cars, it rivals GT4. I loved the older NFSs, and I just want them to go completely back to their roots. Even Prostreet was disappointing.

According to that video, this looks like they've just re-done Most Wanted. The graphics don't seem to be improved at all since MW, even the police is going to chase you angle is the same. To me this looks like a copy of Most Wanted, well done NFS and EA. You've made yet another rubbish game.

I always hate to judge a game before it's out but when gameplay looks like that, I'm not intrested. It was going to be a rental, but now I think I'm just going to skip it completely.

Oh noes, take 1 thing from Most Wanted, and it's a remake.

This is a great thing considering Most Wanted was actually one of the highest rated titles in the Black Box NFS Series behind HP2. The gameplay isn't any different from how Carbon played, minus the cop alert.

I'm amazed at how many people automatically throw this title under the bus. These are the same people who wanted the cops from Most Wanted, & wanted the game to return immediately back to street racing instead of ProStreet. Black Box has done this, and they just condemn it.

Wait til' you actually play the game before basing your judgement on a guy who just did U-Turns and crashed into the cops the whole time.

I really really want to like this game and I hope its a success but I still am slightly worried about it being another meh game... I do think its a step in the right direction but I would still rather have a HP2 remake over anything else... TDU was basically an open world HP2 remake but unfortunately it didnt come out on PS3...:indiff:

I just hope EA doesnt go too teenage 'badass' on it...if you know what I mean:yuck:

If you're a purist of the classic Need for Speed series, I found this YouTube video. You can check it out if you can tolerate the poor music in this video (typical on YouTube). Pro Street wasn't included because (I'm assuming) it was made either before Pro Street or didin't include Pro Street:

Interesting facts about my NFS past:

* I have NEVER unlocked the El Niño car, but I was able to unlock the secret course in NFS2:SE.
* only regular NFS game I haven't played was NFS: Hot Pursuit 2. I had the game in an NFS bundle, but misplaced the CD code to unlock it. Thus, I've never been able to play it.

The mindset I've had is that I've been mostly disappointed with the series since going from this supercar playground to this illegal street racing deal. I wasn't really writing off the game as it is. It's just that I get sick of being this street racing criminal in games. Going over on the other side of the law (meaning the good side) isn't even going to warrant me to play this game. I'm an old-fashioned, old school racing gamer. So with something like this, I'm pretty disgusted that the series is still in this realm of illegal street racing. You know, compare something like newer NFS games to that of the Ridge Racer series or the Project Gotham Racing series. The games have been around about as long as NFS (with the exception of PGR). It's all racing. No street cred, no "ricing," none of that. I can probably imagine what the next NFS will be like: be the law or break the law in illegal street racing. Pro Street was a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done to get this series at least back to its roots.

Come on people, its the joy of racing and being chased. Lets not be too uptight over a few clips. . So they brought alittle MW back. Look at the picture. theres something in there thats new that Need for speed has given us, what looks to be heavily damages cars and looks to me a few different cars. (One being the famous Skyline) not only is it a Skyline but its a Pursuit vehicle. which brings to mind the Hot pursuit challenge. Just a though.

Im looing forward to playing it. it just might suprise us.

I loved Most Wanted. I still think thats the best game to ever come out of EA's ass. I really hope this game lives upto the 'hype' because I will be buying this on release day. :D
