Fiat Panda, white, 34 PS

My first car in real life and hopefully my first in GT4

I don´t think it´ll highly increase my credits though........

Now that I think about it, you can basically start off with ANY car. I don't think there should be an all Kei car class to start things off. I think a person can take a Mini Cooper S of today, and boom. You already have the 160 horses, then more hp with an oil change. There should be enough money to purchase more upgrades to assist you in your GT4 endeavors.

If you ask me, I think the game will probably start you off with more money, that is if my "Sim City" example pays off. "Sim City" was one of my favorite simulation games. You build a city from the ground up and take care of it. I played the first one on SNES, then moved up to SC 2000 on my PC, then SC 3000 (my computer doesn't have the proper requirements for SC 4000). All along the way, the reward kind of increased. So as I played Sim City 3000, I had 50,000 simoleons (the currency in SC3000, and "simoleon means money, in one way or another). 50K was enough for me to build a power plant, some streets, homes, offices, factories, police/fire departments, and schools. So if the game starts you off with 20K, it will allow even beginners to get a BIG learning curve. You can start the game with a Mini from either today or the past (sure to make MiniMADness happy) and upgrade it about 20-40 percent to go racing. But everyone will start off different in GT games. I know that my path to glory isn't as detailed as the next person, but we all start someplace, and meet our destiny at game's end. So go out there and race already! Keep up the good work, PD!

You manage to make playing games into something spiritual at times.

Everyone will start somewhere different, within reason, as we will be limited by our initial choices. I'd like to see $30,000 to play with at the start of the game because that gives you some real choice between a reasonable new car, a good used car and a few upgrades for each.

First time I've seen GT4 and sim city linked!

And certainly won't be the last, Code. There was a game called "Streets of Sim City" that took your SC Classic or SC2000 cities and made them into Interstate 76-style tracks. It was no pure simulation or anything successful, but it was pretty cool.

Anyhow, my pleasure to speak my mind once again. Throughout my game playing experience, I'll come up with many different ideas from my experiences. But I hope you have a good day.

The latest version of Sim City (4) has an expansion pack called Rush Hour...

Apparently (I can't confirm as I don't have it) you can drive through your cities as the emergency services to put out fires and stuff...

I am going to start with the bestest car ever built... the Yugo. Cabrio of course so i can get the sweet driver animations:

I cant really remember as I played gt1 a long time ago but I think that my first car was a used '92 GTO (3000 GT) or whatever it was the greatest thing I had in that game yes the supra and nismo were better but I just loved that little GTO it wasn't that fast but it handled.

GT2 i dunno , I think a mazda but I never really liked it much soon traded to the mustang and Corvette

GT3 stupid little pimp beatle that has every upgrade possible and still sucks but it blows away most of the beginner league.

God I loved that GTO......(thinking about playing GT1 again now, nice subject)

(Just for those who don't have GT1 and think i'm crazy it was a mitsubishi GTO I think it's the japan version of the 3000GT)

3000GT is indeed the GTO in Japan, I too owned a 92 model with just over 900hp. The golden LM Edition was the best imo though.

Hmm. In GT3 you could start (as in Day 1 purchase, without going near licences or Arcade Mode) with a Chrysler PT Cruiser or VW Beetle 2.0 GLS as two of your eleven purchaseable cars. Not very "forced-Japanese".

PT Cruiser = Crappy Truck, Not Car.

VW = German Car, Not American or Brittish

Like I said man, it would be nice to be able to start with an American CAR or Brittish CAR, and not a Japaneese (Or German).

Hey, I raced with the PT Cruiser to start off GT3. I wanted it because of the power. I mean, you can't get a Dodge Viper when you start off, so you don't really have a lot of choices to make with your first car. I equipped the Cruiser with turbo and lightened it (since it was an American car, most American cars have weight issues). It did last me through Sunday and Clubman races, though. Not a bad choice. Had the Honda CRX been in the game, I would have started with that.

I started off with the PT Cruiser as well. It was very decent for a first vehicle. The best one to choose if you ask me. True, it was hard to see over, but the was a just a small problem anyway.

awww yes! them cars are awwsome! they go pretty hard! awsome drift cars as well. that with a rb25 (a cheaper option). (engine swaps would be awsome in gt4 aye) and a biig tirbo (new zeland accent) haha they say turbo funny.

well just as the first 3 episodes I'll start off with a Mazda MX5 or Miata, or whatever your mazda dealer names it.

To me it's the perfect car to begin with, it has great handling and for a first car it's pretty fast.....

I hate the Mazda but I'll be stuck with it again unless there's something nifty buried out there in the used car lots of the game world. I hate buying used things though.

I too started off with the PT Cruiser in the early beginnings of GT3 A-Spec. Certainly did the job well and got me through half of the Beginner races. Then I finally moved on getting tired of it's sluggish chassis. (I had enough $$ by then to get a better car anyways).

I'll probably get a used Nissan 240SX, an RX-7, or a GTO. I love those cars from the earlier games.

So many of us attest to us having the PT Cruiser despite the fact that it "wasn't meant to be a hot rod." I think the Cruiser was meant to be a modern-day hot rod. But for recalls of some reason, they still managed to be a good starting car. But if we get 20,000 Cr to start with, I'd rather start with a Mini Cooper S of this era. Colors? British Racing Green. Wouldn't mind dark blue either.

Looks like the Honda Preludes are very popular. I remember using one as a starter car way back in GT1.
Lets hope we can choose Euro and American used cars as well as the Japanese cars.

Hopefully with the return of used cars, my first car will be a Mazda Familia/323 GT-R. Or a Peugeot 306 GTi-6 would be cool too.

2nd hand Fiat Coupe 20VT. Or an early TVR Chimaera 4.5. A second hand one costs about 14k where I am. Then again, to be totally realistic I would have to fit new bits after every race because bits fall off!
