Your first job?

I'm trying to make a little extra cash on the side. And I was just wondering what your first job was? Did you like it, why? Do you guys have any tips or suggestions on jobs? Thanks for your help.

The corner of 5th and Main is a good spot to work it.

I had my first job at 13 and that was stocking beverages at a convenience store, then I work at a botle and can redemption store for my uncle. Lets see, then I worked for my dad at his deli. Now I work with my dad when he photographs weddings and I work for a caterer.

Just get a job at a supermarket or at a mall. They seem to be very easy.

My first real job was working at a SuperMarket. Minimum wage as a bagger. Got like VERY FEW tips. It was ok.

delivering papers every monday and thursday, decent money, not too much responsbility, but what a ***** it was in the winter! but now i'm helping out an older couple try to learn their computer for $6.65 an hour, it's amazing what people sometimes DON"T know! :D

My first, and only, "job" was detailing/painting cars for my friend's father. Did it for about a month or two to make my dad happy then I quit. Yes, I liked it. I got paid a ****load of money for sitting around watching TV, and sanding/painting/buffing a car every-now-and-then.

My next job will be something for the Marines, or Air Force.

People actually tip baggers? It never crossed my mind.

Its not really expected, but it only usually happens if you carry their bags out for them...

Washed cars at a Honda dealership. Strange thing is i haven't worked elsewhere since.

I worked as a shop assistant/general labourer at a fruit and veg farm. It was OK, the overtime was good, and it was good to be out in the fields in summer. Got on well with the other staff, which helped.

Wouldn't go back to it though!

Sweeping floors at a funiture builder. Later helped build furniture full time until I got my apprenticeship which I finished in 1996.. Damn I'm getting old :(

I worked in Heavy Truck Collision repair shop. Learned how to paint cars and perform body work. Also learned how to sweep floors and empty trash ;) Work there part time from 14-18.

My very first job, I painted a doctor's office for $5 an hour. That was back in 1979. Then I spent three years working at the Ice Skating rink in town. I loved it. You know figure skaters run around in those little skirts.

Am I going to be the first one that says, or admits he worked at McDonalds? Thats right McDonalds! It was fast food, how do you think it was? I didn't like it to much, but I liked the people I worked with. We were all young, and it was really easy to goof off! Looking back at it now, it simply amazes me that I only made 4.25 and hour, and had such a huge savings account.

If I had any advice, I would suggest the mall as a first job. I had friends that had jobs there, and they always said how easy it was. 👍

But the best job I have ever had, besides my current, Vallet is plain, the best job out there IMO. A time in my life I will never forget. I wouldn't mind picking up some shifts doing it now. :D

My first job was as a deli worker at a supermarket. I was 14. I got fired after one week for eating a piece of salami while cutting it for a customer.

My first job was working at our High School as a janitor after school cleaning rooms. I was in Junior High at the time. I got paid $8 for two rooms which was supposed to take two hours. Later I added two more rooms. So I was getting paid $16 per day for cleaning 4 rooms, that took 2 hours to finish.

Pretty good pocket change for being only years old.

Midnight stocking shelves in a grocery store. It makes me over $8 an hour and I'm supposed to get a raise here in a week or two. It's not a bad job if you don't mind the hours.

My first job was changing tires on P-3's, and working on a few fighter jet engines, but mostly working on the tires.

1st job was @ 15. I cleaned cars for a small car rental company..and got to drive them around a BIG parking lot.. wish i still had that job >.<

My first job is my present job, working in karting shop and workshop. But I'm going to work for a Hotel -- starting this July. :)

My first job was picking tomatoes in a greenhouse.

Worked one summer, took me several months after that to get all the green off my hands.
Paid allright though, for a 15 year old.

Lawn mowing. Then worked in a restaurant learing to cook stuff that Boom makes. After that graduated and joined the army.

Yep my second job as well... I considered that a step up from McDonalds. Oh, and I got a quater raise. I stayed there for 2 years! Then I worked for the mouse....

I can't remember for sure what it was. It was either when I was a housekeeper at a hotel or an assistant teacher at a summer camp I had attended. It was some time during my jr high years. My memory has faded over my 23 years... hehe.

I'm sorry. I worked construction for my popz at the age of 15 to 18. He said,"This will make you go to college, or you'll be doing this the rest of your life."

I didnt start out in the Food and Beverage industry though. My first job was working at a car wash. Man, I really sucked at that job. So I quit that job and went to work in a restaraunt as a bus boy. Sucked at that too, :O so I transferred into the kitchen where I am actually quite good. :D That started my long and continuing voyage down the dark and evil path of the hospitality business.

My first was at a Plastic factory when I was 15. Start at 4AM breaking plastic out of molds and finish at 11AM then catch the bus at 11:30 in front of the factory and go to school. We were on split sessions at my high school. 9th and 10th went in at 7am to 12pm then 11th and 12th went from 12pm to 5pm.
