I'm running 56K, which I really hate. I should have waited a bit logner to vote, though, as in a month or so I will be on Satellite Broadband. And noone tell me it's a waste of money, I know that, but my Dad wants to and I'm not paying a cent. :lol:
 
My connection was at 768 kbps when we signed up, but now It's supposed to be at 3mbps. The notice went something like "...now all user will be experiencing speeds UP TOO 3mbps bla bla bla..." Whatever that means. thats My main connection that were still paying for, but I recently moved my room and because of some kind of "you've got too many phones" c**p, they basicly installed annother line to isolate everything else from the ADSL signal. The only room with access to that other line is my old room, so untill we get them to come in and move it I'm stuck back with My good ol Net Zero. The free service that I was using before. 33kbps and worse yet, only 10 hours a month of service. thats what you get for free.
 
I used to have 56k dial up for a long long time, but now i have 1mb dsl. Problem is, i find that when using a wireless card with my toshiba laptop, it seems to be slower. It's probably normal, as information being sent through 3 walls is going to be slower, than straight down a usb2 cable. Although, i have tried it right next to the router, and it is still slower. It should work as it is a 54g router and card, anyway, doesn't really matter, as i find it much faster than 56k. By the way Jordan, i don't know HOW you manage to maintain this site on a dial up connection, all i can say is, Well Done! If i was making a site on dial up, my, pc would have "accidentally" fallen out of a second floor window years ago!
 
Just got SBC DSL today and it is very fast 👍. It's an incrdible steal at $19.99 a month and has near cable speeds.

It's the best we can get out here without paying ridiculous prices for Satellite. Broadband should be here sometime in the next year or so... :grumpy:
 
Yesterday morning I was updating my Anti-Virus software and I noticed that it was downloading updates as a ridiciluous rate.

I logged into my ISP's website because I suspected that my internet connection had been upgraded and I was right!

On April 4th my ISP upgraded my internet connection from a 512kbs connection to a 2MBs connecton. No change to my monthly price or anything, just a free upgraded because other companies are trying to break into the Irish market.

Comcast just upgraded my area to 4 Mbps.

I got adsl, I like it better. Cable sucks in the city, at least with adsl i get what i pay for.

this is very odd. yesterday morning my connection was 576kb/s. now its 2.2mb/s.......and has been since 11pm last night....

its still only running at 25% of what it should. goddamn crappy AOL
