Your IQ what is it or what do you think it is

what are you guys IQ and what do you think about IQ's are they a worthless thing are are they helpful.
just for the record my IQ is about 145 - 150

IQ testing is interesting, if not actually helpful in any way. IQ tests usually determine your aptitude in limited fields - spatial awareness, mathematics and logic problems. Because of the way they are set up, women tend to score poorer than men (in general a random man will have a better spatial awareness than a random woman - not to say that all women suck at it and all men are great).

Some IQ tests are only valid over a limited range - a recent national IQ test in the UK only gave scores from 70-150, and was only really accurate over the range of 90-120 (the nearer the centre, the more accurate with most IQ tests).

On the UK national IQ test I mentioned, I scored 147. My IQ was tested as a kid and I scored 178. I like to do online IQ tests, to keep my brain working while I vegetate at home, and average 163 (I don't KNOW American coinage! ).

Quite a range. Which is most accurate? Sodomy non sapiens. Does it matter? Does it hell.

thats cool i though you would have a high IQ as you are a walkin encyopedia. Also i have skipped a grade at school and still quite smart. i think that IQ isnt evreything though and i get around 147 on internet tests

There's one I can think of offhand (well, one site) called www.iq.com (). But that's the only one I can remember...

Many people equate high IQ with educational ability. It's not always - or even often - the case. And it's amazing how many people who have a high IQ and/or a high degree of scholastic acheivement that have a complete lack of common sense at all.

Intelligence has many facets - and an IQ test doesn't always reflect all of them...

i agree famine just because ppl have high IQ doesnt mean they will suceed in life or fit in. Its only a mesure of what you said above

Standardized tests do mean the world. Most aptitude tests that are required to obtain a job can be considered "standardized." Common sense and perspective are overrated. Social skills are required to succeed though.

My IQ used to be really high. Now it's only moderately high. I went down from like 165 to 155, or something. I'm not one for remembering anything important.

Are the scores the same from test to test? I took an IQ test in HS and scored like 140-ish and I just took the Emode test and I scored 120. I also took another online IQ test a few weeks ago that a friend linked me to and I scored around 150. Weird.

I score differently on each test. Sometimes I score in the 130s, other times I score in the low 100s. If I were to go by the first test I ever took my IQ is 138.

I'd guess my actual IQ is closer to 120.

I have no clue what my IQ is. I've taken several IQ tests and scored between 110 and 160.

Anyway, the last time I took an IQ test was in second grade. I scored something like a 138, and I guess that was good, because they wanted to enroll me into a "gifted" program of some sort.
