I did a search and found nothing related to it so hopefully it will be a popular thread as im sure most of you have encountered at least 1 awkward moment.
My most awkward GT5 moment is when I flipped the Jay Leno Tank Car on the Trial-Mountain Circuit.

Barrel-rolling my GT Academy Silvia in the GT Academy race at Trial Mountain. I was kind of disappointed too from that :lol:.
 
Pitting in an endurance race multiple times and wondering why they didnt fix the visible damage on my car

Almost losing to a pickup truck online at the Nurburgring with a Ferrari Enzo. Not sure how he was going so fast. I was suffering from mega understeer as the Enzo was 100% stock and this was only maybe a week after GT5 was released. He had about a 2 second gap on me when we got on the final long straight. The Enzo's top speed saved me from massive embarrassment and I won the race.
 
When I won a race at the 'Ring in an Italia, and then figured out everyone else was using normal everyday nissans and such. :banghead:
 
My steering wheel disconnected during an epic race causing me and my rival to get thrown into the kitty litter. Also I took a Tank Car on snow rallying in a 550pp (I think) race and actually managed to hold a lead for a while because nobody could overtake me. :lol:
 
Sitting in the pits at Daytona waiting for the host to begin the race, then getting preoccupied with my girlfriend when she walked in the room with nothing on but a smile.....all the while forgetting about my wireless mic in my ear, lol. After about a minute, I realized it was still in my ear so I tossed it on the floor....they could still hear, lol. First NASCAR race I know of that was delayed due to, well, I'll just stop here, lol.

That happened to me once as well. But I was driving a '08 M5 :lol:
 
This one is like the guy with the silvia but it happened to me in my Formula Gran Turismo
 
I was racing online in a NASCAR only room I had made with 3 of my cousins. Someone on my friends list un invitingly decided to join and he has no idea that everyone in the room is family. (He's one of those who joines and even though a room says "440pp shuffle only" will ask to raise to 500pp) Anyways, during the race he couldn't hold is line and started yelling that one driver should be kicked because he is (place explicit words and phrases here) which ended up being the youngest of the 3 cousins. I was not a witness as I was leading.

Shortly after, I had fallen to the back of the field as things tend to get wild at daytona. I then see my "friend" in first come from the middle lane to the low lane as he cuts across the nose of my oldest cousin and wrecks himself and my cousin. He then starts yelling at the top of his lungs that everyone else sucks at racing and that someone intentionally wrecked him. Eventually after 2 min. of yelling he rage quits. After that the room is full of laughter due to the fact that he acted so insane.

This sounds both funny yet stupid that he didn't know about your cousins

As for a moment, I have had plenty. None of them being awkward though.
 
Recently, in a club championship race, I accidentally hit someone up the back into a corner. Wasn't serious, but it was my fault, though for some reason the guy slowed down through and after the corner to let me pass. I couldn't possibly do it, I was hooting to tell him to just go-go-go, meanwhile we were both being passed by the guys behind, until after some seconds I gave up and just went for it.

In a race someone in my group (not gonna say who) car randomly spun in a straight line with full damage and tire wear and I went 20MPH to get round him, But what a crash!
 
Winning with a big gap and getting kicked arguing that I cheat

I've lead the race on the Nordschleife, about to take victory. I thought I had finished the race and always let the car drive itself from the finish line onwards, then only realize that the race is more than one lap long when my car is in the barrier :ouch:

What's more embarassing: I've done this several times :banghead:

I feel you there, I've done the same too. What is even more embarrassing: I usually use the handbrake and spin over the line on purpose when the gap to my follower is big enough, so until I realise it's not over yet, my car is usually heading wrong way AND crashed into the barrier. :crazy:

Lol i do that too,but i remember something more stupid.
It was on monaco, and i did that...it was also the last lap, i was sure...
BUT i did that on the..fake finish line before the real one LOL

I do this all of the time! It really sucks, but that's what I get for not paying attention I suppose.

My most awkward moment was when I was doing the Nurburgring 4H, the only A-Spec endurance race I've done, and I let the rear tires on my Spoon S2000 fully deplete. Well, because my tires were shot for a quarter of the lap, I went from a two and a half minute lead over an Amuse S2000 to a one minute deficit. Luckily I caught him later with about 20 minutes left.

Race start on Daytona Road Course, I'm position 3... floor it at the start like I normally do. My car does a 180, and I hit 2 other cars on the grid, and I'm down to last place.

I start out in 2nd at that track, and with gt500 cars you can holeshot from 10th to 1st nicely if your the only one doing it.
