650 sq ft $829 - $994

Which of these two do you think would be better to live in and why?

The second one looks better since the kitchen is right next to the living room. :D

I would probably choose the cheaper one, since there don't seem to be any clear advantages to either. It would be way easier to decide by going there.

They're 1BR apartments though. It's not exactly a trek from one side to the other.

I prefer the top one. Simply because it appears to have a bit more space to move around in. Extra points for the en-suite too.

Top one for me, too. It might be smaller, but it looks a lot more usable than the bottom. The bottom one doesn't have a great spot for the couch/TV like the top does, either.

Bonus - you'll save ~ $100/month.

This is in my price range. I can't decide if I would love this place or grow to hate it.

Dude. That is vile!

Top one has a better layout (whats with the double walk in closet in the second?!), although the second one has more windows which is nice in a small apartment.

My vote goes to the first one.

Or you could print those out and play Cluedo on them :D
But, yeah, top one in my honest opinion cause it has a bigger Bathroom, I like the look of the layout of the kitchen/dining area and the bedroom looks like a fairly nae bad size

I'd go with the first one because you can more easily arrange a TV and a surround sound system in. You can also move the seat from the middle of the living room to next to the couch to make more room.

I think the first one is better because its a much better layout and is more open plan. Also look how big the bathroom is compared the to second one. Kitchen is also slightly larger although the angular wall looks slightly odd.

Alot of space is wasted in the second one between the dining and living area.

Robin.

The top one, as it doesn't involve a walk through the living room to get from bedroom to bathroom.

But plans are awfully anodyne. No photos of said apartments?

Unless you're used to looking at plans like UnoMOTO, Duke, myself and presumably other are. :)

But yes, actual pictures are nice, too.

Top one. Space is more useable. Of course, you can only make a decision by seeing it in person, but I think option #1 is the winner. Small bathrooms SUCK. Also, the two-doored bathroom in the top plan is an underrated feature. My bathroom has two doors like that, and it makes a huge difference. Air/moisture can easily flow in and out (I almost never have condensation anywhere), and smells don't accumulate. Just make sure guests are aware that there are two doors :ouch:.

Bottom one. I can't. stand. angled-off kitchens like the top one has. You will hate that bar/counter being like that. If you have to have two people in the kitchen, forget about it.

The top one would be better if the builder cut out that kitchen counter and added a laundry closet/space next to the water-heater closet. The only problem I can see in the bottom one is the lack of easy TV-furniture orientation.

I think the first one's living space looks more friendly and usable. You might have to decide based on the position of the bathroom. With the first one, the connected bathroom will allow you privacy in your room. When you go in just lock the other door to keep people out, when you leave unlock it. Kind of easy, kind of a pain in the ass.

With the other bathroom you don't have to worry about that. But you do have to leave your room to get there. If you've ever got friends over waiting on you to get ready you're going to have to prance back and forth from the shower in plain site. Kind of easy, kind of a pain in the ass.

For me the top one has the more inventive use of space. But really i'd like to see photos of them first, you just can't tell a lot from floor plans. With them having balconies it would be useful to know if they are south facing or have good/bad views from them too. A nice south facing balcony with a decent view could really make or break an apartment.
