How many of you out there are lucky enough to have a premium version of your car in GT5? If it is in the game, how quickly did you purchase it, how does it compare in real life in terms of looks and driving feel?

In my case, it's the 2006 S2000...it was the second car I purchased, only b/c it was too expensive for a first car.

EXTERIOR:
insanely impressive. My actual car is a 2005...so other than slightly different wheels and the fact that it is right hand drive...it is nearly identical. I haven't seen another game that has an S2000 with proportions, etc... this dead on.

INTERIOR:
Equally impressive; especially when you go into photomode and really look around. When you use the cockpit view...it's a little tough to tell...just because the field of view is so much different that in real life.

DRIVING FEEL:
The acceleration seems about accurate in terms of time...though it's a bit more linear than it is in real life. Handling and balance too seem pretty accurate. I guess it's tough to tell just because...in a game shifting from 2nd to 3rd at 60mph and 8000 rpms isn't nearly as visceral of an experience as it is in real life...and seems very tame in comparison with some other things you can do in the game.

Bottom line. Ever since I started driving...I always wanted videogames to feature the car that I currently drove. This is the first time, thanks in combination to great development and technological advancements, that I feel like somebody really nailed it.

I've driven an '05 S2000 and the GT5 equivalent seems pretty dead on, graphically and in terms of driving feel. You don't get the same "slowish start, then tear your face off" kind of feeling as much from the acceleration in-game but it's still pretty darn close.

None of the cars I've owned in real life are in this game. One was a Chevy S10 and the rest were BMWs. All of mine have been older bimmers since I'm not too keen on the new ones. Unfortunately for me, the only ones in GT5 are new, save for the 2002 Turbo and M-Coupe, which are both standard.

I would kill for a premium e30 M3.

My car is in the game, but I had to LMAO. I paid $22300 for my new 06 Mazdaspeed6 after rebate and discount. I found one in the GT5 used cars for 66k. WTF fellas?

Well my dad has a '07 Subaru Impreza WRX. It isn't exactly in the game as all of the Impreza's in the game are STI's, but it's close enough to the '07 STI. There are some minor exterior and obvious power differences because they are different models, but the interior looks almost identical to the real life car. Now I haven't actually driven the car in real life yet as I only just turned 16 and don't have a license yet, so I can't comment on the handling. Overall though the car in the game is very well done :)

EDIT: Oh and the horn in the game is roughly the same as the one on the real car.

No E36, No E30 :(

I think the car value in Credits (in GT) is more closely related to Japanese Yen currency than any other world Currencies. Certainly cannot be Rupies.

I have a 2007 MINI Cooper, the S version is in the game which is close enough since it has the same interior and what not. I find it funny to see how many flaw there are but really only a MINI owner would ever notice them so it's really not an issue.

I think I have the most miles on my Sparkling Silver Cooper S too, mainly because that's all I use on created tracks and ripping around in practice mode.

86 Chevy Nova - Nope and for good reason
91 Caprice 9c1 - Nope
95 Caprice 9c1 - I wish! (mine was heavily modded), would settle for Impala SS
82 Jeep CJ-7 - not really GT5 material
2005 Scion xB - First car I bought in the game, standard not premium though (I know it is slow and it sucks, but it was nostalgic)
2007 Honda Civic Si Sedan - No sign of the FA5 or even FG2
97 Jeep Cherokee - again, not GT5 material

I actually got both of my cars, I have a 88 Rx7 turbo 2 and a 2008 Honda Fit. The Rx-7 is a premium model and is a 90 GT-X, only difference is the front bumper skirt. And the Honda Fit in game was dead on as well.

remember something... in real life, the attitude over the sea level, changes de power/times etc... in the game you do perfect shift's and more faster. in the game you dont fell the real G force, and you don have the same "no-fear" status.

gt it's simply amazing

one of my friends has a bora gli (jetta gli A5), and it's pretty close in felling and how it looks in the game (golf gti mk5 nearest to compare)

I drive an EVO IX and I haven't bought one in-game yet. I'm not sure why. I guess because I can drive it everyday. I may buy one to rally in though.

I bought my car as soon as I found it, in the USED car section. I have an '03 BMW M3 and I bought an '04 M3. Pretty bad rendering and the sound is not even close, closer to the new M3's V8. Drives half decent though.

Seriously, no e36...I have 2 of them: 1994 325i and 1995 M3. I also co-drive a 964 at time attack events at local circuits...Porsche isn't in the game at all.

However, once upon a time I picked up an NA Miata for my sister, and got to drive it at the track. They have the exact car in the game: '93 special edition NA miata. The '91 special edition is also in the game, and it's premium edition. Everything is VERY close, except it's got about 12 less HP, right hand drive, and yellow/black instead of black/tan.

The details are great, all the way down to neat little circular heat/ac vents.

It doesn't have my car, but its close. I have an 09' MINI Cooper S Convertible. I bought an 07' MINI Cooper S as my 2nd car, and it is now my rally car.

It is very accurate, only wish the roof color could be changed to white or black instead of always being body color.

Interior is dead on, although it appears that the car is in an area with temps below 37˚ judging by the icon on the tach. The radio is set to the Auxiliary Input, I guess my driver is like me and hates the radio.

Ya I was mad when the roof was the body colour too, and that they didn't include bonnet strips. At least it has HID's.

And I think it's down two candy corns on the fuel gauge too. I know there were like two or three things I noticed that were off but they were really so minor they weren't a big deal.

The top screen in the tach is incorrect I think. I feel like it shows information that doesn't match up to what 'should' be there. I like how the bottom tach screen shows the miles til empty, since thats what I show in my MINI.

My previous car (S14) which was stolen is pretty accurate, although mine was more modified than the one I currently have (suspension wise), but less-so power-wise.

Before that I drove a Sileighty, which I also have in the game. My S13 had an SR, and in the game it has a CA, so it's kind of hard to say...although it handles/drifts like it did in real life.

I was lucky enough to drive a 430 Scuderia in Italy this summer and the car drives EXACTLY the same in the game. It's UNREAL. I even bought one in the same colour (yellow with grey stripes). Totally unreal experience. Brought me back to Maranello, sigh.

I also drove a 458 Italia but haven't yet bought one in the game...I'm sure it'll be quite accurate.

My dad has a Dodge Stealth TT and I'll be picking up a 3000GT as soon as I find one in red to compare.

Only Standard models for me, but not the USDM versions of the EG Civic and 4th Gen. Prelude. But they're pretty fun in-game. And look pretty damn good in GT5.

Still trying to find the right color (something close to Aztec Green Pearl) for the Civic.

Yea ya! 2008 Honda Fit and 1988 Honda Accord! sadly no premium (lol although i understand that) and I've driven the 2006 Sti multiple times.

Id say none of the real thrill (rip your face off feeling or mix of excitement and danger) of these cars will ever translate into video games....its something that comes from us...not programming but besides that im quite impressed.

I bought a 2002 Subaru WRX for my wife b/c of GT 1-3... We kept it for 7 years... We sold it a couple of years ago, and none of our current cars are in there... the only one that would have a potential shot at being in the game is my 1985 BMW 635CSi... I hope they release more premium cars via dlc...

It's amazing my car is in the game seeing as how there are only a couple in the world. I am talking about the Jaguar XJ-13 of course. It looks good in the game, but sounds and drives much better in reality. Ok, I am a bad liar. Actually, I did have a 93 RX-7 and there is a premium version in the game. Great in the game and in reality.

I own a 2006 RX-8 so ya its in the game, and it seems to be pretty close to my car in terms of acceleration and handling. Even when you are "getting in" the car in your garage the starting sound is exactly right......

I also own a non turbo 94 3000gt..... but the game is screwed up as it has all 3000gt's being 4WD when the non turbo models were FWD only... seems like a pretty big thing to not spot.

(they were FWD in gt1 / 2 and 4 )

...In my case, it's the 2006 S2000...
I'm in the same boat. I have an 04 and I was first blown away during the license test driving the yellow one. It was the second car I purchased and is the most driven as of now.

The random title screen shots are amazing and add to the feeling of ownership. I find myself getting caught up with how awesome the whole experience is all the time.

I do wish that I could get a hardtop for it and the wheel selection was a little better though...

Only premium cars I can relate to are the Gallardo LP 560-4 and The LP 640. Offcourse I havent pushed them irl as you can do in-game.. So its hard to tell. But the LP 640 feels very on point, especially sound-wise.. The LP 560-4 also feels close to reality.. Maybe that the LP 640 is a bit more nervous in the game when cornering fast and you lift of the throttle.. But on the other hand I havent pushed a LP 640 in that way IRL.

Its a bit sad in a way that you dont have any fear driving around on tracks in the game.. It makes it impossible to compare times with real life.. Im trying to say that if The Stig is going around the Top gear test track in a LP 670 SV he would probably be 5 sec slower than my time in-game cause I dont risk my life and money with my PS3 and can therefore push a lot harder, crash 100 times a.s.o until i get my time.. the reality is obviously something else.. It must ba pretty big timedifferenses when you drive on the ring.

Try driving the ring in a ZR-1 C6 and compare to the official time of 7.25 thats actually a lap in that car IRL. I bet youre pretty much faster than that cause of the lack of responsibility in-game for obvious reasons.

Did you buy your real color in the game? I did. Sebring Silver...even though that isn't my favorite color for the car...I had to stay as accurate to real life as possible.

Speaking of that start up sound, when you select the car. I've noticed with the S it is a little more trebly and race sounding than real life. Maybe if I open up my hood and stand outside while my wife starts it.

My car (2010 Infiniti G37S) was in GT5P as the GT370 so it is also in GT5. Mine has the 7-speed auto though whereas the game's is an 07 with the old 5-speed auto. Too bad too because the gearing is too long for most races....

My wife's car is an IS350 so the IS-F will just have to do...

Celica gt-four 94
I found one in the used car dealership, and its a standard model but it is pretty impressive that it is accurate. minus a few details but i am not complaining :)
