Had a 2003 Z4. Smashed it. Have a 2003 BMW 330Ci. I don't know if it's in the game or not. Nice M3s, fellas. Very cool.

The 330i is included, standard. Can´t remember if it´s the E46 or the E92, though..

I've been in a few over the years and a very well looked after one is insanely quick even by today's standards. But remember Lotus tuned them , but Vaxhual built them!

Yup,I know but it's called a lotus by most so I just follow.:p I love the way it handles in the game.
If I can't find a carlton then a 2012 Boss 302 perhaps?Wish they had that in the game lol.

They are still a good number kicking about but you need to avoid the ones that some pokey scumbag has ran into the ground. I love 80's and 90's cars. I actually drive an 1985 e30 Alpina and I love driving such an unpolitically correct car , and the fact some bearded , sandal wearing , idealist tree hugger , green party member is choking on his wheatgrass smoothy as he hears the 6 pot BMW/Alpina goodness driving past , does give me a warn feeling inside, much like peeing ones self.

I've driven a Volkswagen GTI '08 in real life and the '05 version is pretty similar. Once I upgrade the game version with turbo and some exhaust, the speeds are pretty similar.

Don't want to argue, but all the MkV GTIs are practically identical. Depending on what dyno you use the 08.5-09s will have ~10 more HP due to the different engine.
Unless you meant the 08 you drove had some work done to it.

A 1986 Buick Regal in black was my third car. Mine had the 5 liter V8 and not a turbo 6. :( But those Buicks were very hot **** on the streets of the US when I was a kid. I tried to make mine into a GNX but I ended up crashing it.

I had to buy the GNX in the game. Wish it was premium. It had a cool interior and an orange turbocharger stitched into the upholstery shaped like a 6. Good times. I'll volunteer to model the interior, Kaz.

The Buick Regal/Grand National/GNX/T-Type were all the same body in the 1980's and the '87 GNX is one available in GT5. The pinnacle of all Regals!

Grand Nationals were named for the NASCAR races they competed in when they were still somewhat "stock."

McLaren (yes, him) was involved in the turbo design.

The Grand National was the fastest car available in the US for a year. Well there was that one year they didn't make any Corvettes! I think 1983. Doubters should drive a healthy one before calling it slow.

GT 5 has something for everyone it seems.

I'm hoping to buy an '09-'11 M3 sedan in the next few months. I've tested a few already. The sound in the game is way off. IRL it sounds so sweet, but the game doesn't relay that well at all. The dynamics seem pretty close. IRL it seems way faster than in game. GT5 is a great driving simulator, but there is just so much more sensory information IRL that makes the experience hard to compare.

I just took an M3 out for a test while in holiday in Florida. My father had to drive our rental car so he came along with me. After I got about 2 blocks away from the dealer I rolled down the windows slowed down to about 5 MPH then floored it. I wanted him to hear that sweet sound of that 4L V8 revving up to 8.4K. The sound and the way that thing just rips through the first 1/4 of the speedo just can't be duplicated in a videogame unfortunately. I haven't been able to take an M3 to it's limits yet (can't on a test drive), but from what I can judge the game seems to nail the dynamics of the car. The interior and exterior of the car are definitely spot on in the game.

I am very happy to not have seen a 2004 Mercury Sable GS. I don't know nor care if it's in the game, I skip most of the cars in the UCD and head towards the bottom (after doing square sorting).

For my next car I do aspire to acquire something that is Premium in GT5, so I can settle for that!

Standard model GC8 STi for me

Same here... but hey then we wouldn't have room for the "Thing", "Kubblewagen" and "Schwimmwagen

Really interesting to read these details. I love my GT5 GNX though didn´t move it out of my garage ever since. But I like it´s design and sure it was and (when found a healthy one today) is quite fast.

My real car is a Honda Odyssey '02.

It doesn't have 4WD, comes up a little shy of 400HP (ok-a lot shy) and my wife won't let me apply the stage-3 weight reduction to my real car.

Planning on recording: the kids fighting, quipping in "are we there yet" and other random ambient backseat family noises and comments, putting them into an MP3 and putting it on my custom music play-list. (just to add to the 'realism')

thanks for the chuckle lol:tup:

One of my trucks is in the game the other isn't. The Lightning is under construction getting ready for the Texas Mile. The shop is projecting 900-1000 whp on c16 3.4l s/c and nitrous and will be using the aluminum block out of the 2011 GT500. I am hoping to be the first truck to surpass 200 mph there. It will definitely be capable of mid to high 9s in the 1/4 mile.

My "tow truck" is understandably not in the game. 2008 F250 6.4l Powerstoke w/ sequential turbos. It's pushing 600 rwhp 1200 ft lb. My personal best is a 12.81@102 mph. I will be trading it in soon for an Ecoboost F150.

My wifes car is in the game as the Weds IS 350. Her's is a 2010 Lexus IS350. We custom ordered it last June and it took 4 months to build. It has Lexus Fsport shocks, springs and swaybars. I drive when we're together and I downright love that car!

I got the MK4 gti like the game and it has race mod available which is great. My gti is not standard anymore so its hard to say that its better or worse than the real one. i preffer my real one not because it real but because i have done all the mods i wanted to her including a one of a kind sound install which GT does not give you.

i cant answer this until they put an s10 xtreme in the game.

my chevy cobalt is not, however my 1st car was a Pontiac Sunfire, I was lucky enough to snag it in the UDC.

We used to have a PT Cruiser, alas it's gone. I doubt an 80's Buick is in the game. (Except the GNX)

Making this a bit lengthy, but yeah.

I own an ST202 Celica, which is in the game.

It wasn't until today though that I actually got around to buying and driving it.
Painted it to match my real life version (red), and took it around for a few races.
Though the ingame version the is the japanese one, with slightly different rear spoiler and lights, it's really strange to watch your own car in a game like this...it's a good looking model for a standard.

The driving is a different matter however. I managed to get the braking balance to be true to life (3/1 settings), not using ABS although my car does have it. The ABS is rarely ever needed in real life; in good weather I can brake full power with just small screeching and it doesnt interfere. So that's pretty much spot on with the above setting.

The driving feel however, is very different. I think the cause could be the traits of the comfort soft tires in the game, but the handling is just not as good as the real thing.
Too much understeer even when not on the power.
And, when going on the throttle during cornering the inner front wheel locks up pretty badly in the game. Again, this is nothing like my own car.

Oh and the engine sound isn't nearly as neat either.

All in all, I'm kinda disappointed at the whole thing, save for the looks.

edit: after putting on sports hard tires, the characteristics are actually spot on!
