So I was wondering... as we are all car fanatics here: đź’ˇ

What kind of car do you drive in real life (previously owned or current that is in GT5)?
What do you like about the car in real life?
Is it in the game or something like it?
Does it drive like your real life driver?

Ill start

What kind of car do you drive in real life?

I have a 2009 V6 Mustang Coupe - Lowered 2", Computer Tuned on 93 octane, Hurst Shifter, K&N CAI, Flowmaster Exhaust, Window tint (yeah its standard lol), 20" 5 star rims, custom grille and a few other fun things that I always end up forgetting about

What do you like about the car in real life?
Good overall balance for a moderately priced cars... And its like Legos for adults!!!

Is it in the game or something like it?
Mustang GT '07 - I did a weight reduction 1 on it, and then used the ballast to bring the car within weight specs of the V6 (about 200lbs lighter). I then set my suspension to the specs of my driver and lowered the HP of the car to 257 (about where I am with my V6 now)

Does it drive like your real life driver?

Pretty close... More like it in handling than the acceleration. I also installed the 6 speed fully customizable transmission to TRY and replicate the gearing on the V6... but the values are not in bounds for the game with that... Plus the overall HP and Torque curves dont match.

What does match up is the driving characteristics of my car. Mustangs handle fairly well for the weight they have and the outdated rear end... BUT they dont talk to you in the wheel. So I noticed that the FFB in the DFGT (level 5 setting) actually sent the same exact signals to me that my Mustang does. :scared:

Just thought this would be fun for the heck of it 👍

Well I can't really say as I'm only 14 currently, however my dad drives a 2010 Camaro SS which is fun to drive. In the game though it gets boring. That's his "fun" car, although our "family" car, the 2010 Porsche Cayenne Turbo S is so much more fun to me. But it's not in the game (thanks EA!). As for what car I will be gettinf when I'm 16, my parents are matching whatever I make and so far I have 5000 roughly and looking at the 14,000 dollar ranged 2000-2002 Jaguar XKR. Lot's of HP in a beauty of a car.

+1.

But I'll play before the move.

I have two cars.

My weekend warrior is a '96 DB8 in Frost White. Almost everything engine has been upgraded, and last pulled a 15.3 @ 99.

Closest thing in the game is the two door version, with type-R badges :sly:

My winter warrior is a 2002 e46 XI in Jet Black. Blizzaks turn this car into an absolute tank. Pic is my avatar.

Closest thing in the game is also a two door version, with ///M badges :sly:

But it's not in the game (thanks POLYPHONY DIGITAL). .
Fixed :D

No, he actually meant EA.

EA has the licenses for the porch so PD can't use it. That's why RUF is here instead.

Well, that's half right. While Electronic Arts does own all the rights for PS3 Porsche use, PD had the option to collaborate for a sub-licensing deal, (which had been done in the past with Forza), but Kaz pulled back from the deal. So, PD is the reason there's no Porsches. :sly:

I used to own a Nissan Stagea (skyline estate) that I took round Spa in march this year, but it hasn`t turned up in the ucd yet, so I can`t compare it. :(

Both GT5 and IRL 370Z are stock. The main difference being in GT5, I have Rays CE28Ns for it.
With sports hards, it feels almost the same.

I ride a 2008 Suzuki GSX 1300R Hayabusa as my daily driver. The closest in game car is the concept car using the same engine. It does sound exactly the same when you switch to the car and the engine fires up, but that is about it :)

In the past I have had a modified RX-7 FC that is similar to the game handling.
A 72 Charger with the 440. The game car seems to handle a lot better.
A little 944 turbo, but we all know the Porsche woes.
A 80 something nissan 200sx. Same body style as the rally car in the game but I think it is a 240. My car was a sled lol.

Thos are all the fun ones I have owned, but I think the game does a great job for what it is.

I have a Rover Mini:crazy: and a Mazda RX8:drool:
Not sure if the game versions perform like the real life counterparts:cool:
The mazda and mini handle better in real life :gtpflag:

What kind of car do you drive in real life?
Toyota Prius III

What do you like about the car in real life?
Very low taxes....and then I mean very low taxes!

Is it in the game or something like it?
Yes it is, however in real life it has 136 HP (statiscs), It has a HUD like de vette.
And my steering wheel is on the other side:sly:

Does it drive like your real life driver?
I'm glad in real life it doesn't makes the noice it makes in the game.:)

What kind of car do you drive in real life (previously owned or current that is in GT5)?
I'm just going to put my current car. I've had loads of cars that have been featured in GT. You could say I bought them because of GT.

Current car is '11 Mitsu EVO X MR

What do you like about the car in real life?

4 doors, AWD, Turbo

Is it in the game or something like it?

Yep

Does it drive like your real life driver?

Drivers very similar in real life as the game. The EVO has grips where ever it goes. Sounds, shifts, PD nailed it.

What kind of car do you drive in real life?
'05 Ford Ka 1.0l

What do you like about the car in real life?
Cheap, economical

Is it in the game or something like it?
The version of the car in the game is a bit older and a 1.3l, and although it's less powefull than mine (61hp x 65hp), it's got more torque. Mine is a bit lighter as well. The gear ratios are a bit different too, specially from 3rd on.

Does it drive like your real life driver?
I'd say 80%. There are differences because of the version and it is a standard, but the steering sensivity and the front end grip are quite faithfull. Mine is a bit more tail-happy, specially when I lift the throttle.

This is a good thread...

What kind of car do you drive in real life?
2002 Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Torch Red
Bilstein sport shocks, Breathless CF Air Intake, Hurst short Shifter, Slotted rotors with EBC race pads.

What do you like about the car in real life?
Definitely the best performance you can get for the money. Out handles anything I've ever driven, except for an elise. Relatively cheap maintenance and mods, mostly problem free for 3+ years (only 2-3 major repairs). 0-100 in 10.5 seconds. 1/4 mile in 12.4. My favorite car I've owned so far.

Is it in the game or something like it?
2004 C5 Z06 is the in game equivalent. Same car. Put the Racing filter on, Fixed sports suspension, and Sport Hard tires (Potenzas IRL)

Does it drive like your real life driver?
For the most part yes. Many people say road tires are equal to comfort softs in game. But IRL the car drives like the in game "sports hard" tires. Full throttle from a stop only spins half way through 2nd, and hooks up the rest of the way. On comfort softs it spins all the way through 2nd gear.

What kind of car do you drive in real life?
2007 Ford Mustang GT
  • Hurst short shifter
  • Steeda UDP's
  • Steeda CMCV delete plates
  • 91 octane tune
  • Flowmaster axle-back exhaust
  • C&L Racer intake

What do you like about the car in real life?
Powerful
Fairly fast
Easy to work on
Fun to drive

Is it in the game or something like it?
Yes, as a premium. I have one and have only done a few power mods to it to bring it up to the 330-340hp that mine has. Plus a drivetrain mod to quicken the shifts up.

Does it drive like your real life driver?
I don't think it handles as well in the game as it does in real life. Acceleration seems about right, but the cornering doesn't seem accurate.

My other cars are a 2011 Ford Fusion Sport, which is in Forza 4; and a 1995 GMC Jimmy, which should never be included in any video game.

Awesome car. What color did you get it in?

Awesome car. What color did you get it in?

Phantom Black. I was so torn between Wicked White or PB. I couldn't find white so just went for black. I was also a bit worried that Evo's weren't going to be available in '12 so I had to hurry to find one that I wanted.

Then of course, they just announced the '12 a few days ago. Though it's pretty much identical to the '11.

I'm on my Learners permit IRL and I own a Mazda 323 Astina Shades 2003, The equivalent to it in GT5 is a Mazda Familia Sport 20, which here in Australia is called a Mazda 323 SP20 which I was going to buy, but was a little over my budget.

As for the way they the GT5 Counterpart feels (after reducing the power and weight reduction) with a Logitech G25 with reversed mounted pedals (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfW0RFVMnuA&feature=channel_video_title) I would say the game recreates a very similar feel in handling, accerelation, etc

2005 Denali Pickup

What do you like about the car in real life? It's a tank, goes through anything, it's driven 365 days a year for work and hasn't let me down once in 7 years.

Is it in the game or something like it?
Ram pickup would be the closest.

Does it drive like your real life driver?
Never driven it at race speeds or close, so can't say for sure.

What kind of car do you drive in real life?
Lancer Evo 7 GSR, with a turbo-back exhaust.

What do you like about the car in real life?Very quick, no matter what the weather, handles great too, with sharp turn in and plenty of feedback through the wheel.

Is it in the game or something like it?
Yes, as a standard model.

Does it drive like your real life driver?
Yep, the game is pretty accurate, right down to detail stuff like the relatively tall fifth gear after the first four ratios, which are a bit closer together. The handling is spot on.

IRL I drive a 2000 Acura 3.2 TL. Closest thing in GT5 is the 3.2 CL-S. I finally managed to find an '03 in-game, painted it the colour of my TL, and dropped the HP to 225 (since I don't own the S-type). And then, I haven't even driven it in-game yet. Maybe I'll do that tonight.

2003 Toyota MR2 Spyder. Manual transmission

What do you like about the car in real life?
Lightweight, 2 seater, mid-engine, convertible. Whats not to like!?

Is it in the game or something like it?
Yes, theres a '99 (pre facelift) and '02 (post facelift)

Does it drive like your real life driver?

Yes it does. In the game its listed as 146 hp. which is definitely an inflated flywheel HP. in actuality it has about ~115 to the wheels. But I find the car translates well in the game. I feel like my Kumho XS's are like sports hards. But the car is standard.. I wish I could get a proper interior view 👍

Are you a member on www.mr2oc.com (mr2 owners club)? if not, you should register. there is also www.mr2.com and www.spyderweb.net.

Anyways...

IRL-89 Toyota MR2 n/a
GT5- 86 Toyota MR2 G-Limited

Very similar between the two cars, except my IRL version has an updated rear suspension that tames the throttle lift oversteer that the GT5 has a bit of.

Yeah I am registered on all of those, but the MK3 section of mr2oc.com is realllly slow so I rarely go there. spyderchat.com is the best forum out there.

Small world 👍 aw11's are very fun.

'97 Z-28 Camaro. Actually a rare(311 made) 6 speed, NO traction control, hardtop(no teetop) 30th Anniversary Edition(Which is just huge orange strips, logo'd seats, white wheels).
Game has it, and mentions the Anniversary Edition but the game car is not stripped and has polished wheels so its a standard '97 Z-28, which of course has identical performance to mine.
I'll drive it stock then put in the race tranny so I can be sure to get the proper ratios and retest.
Too bad race mods ruin the sound, a slightly muffled set of headers would be SO nice!đź’ˇ
