"Fastest he's ever driven: 230mph on the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans
Biggest crash: 230mph on the Mulsanne Straight at Le Mans"

I Think this guy is a car driver that you can see in those UK or what ever contry the show comes from it's called TopGear i think in that show there is him an other guy and a Girl so if my guess is good well that must be it if not i'm sure someone is gonna come with a better answer. 👍

Tiff was a race driver from the mid 70's until about the mid 90's. He was on Top Gear before Jeremy Clarkson (I think). When Top Gear was temporarily cancelled, he became part of another show that is quite similar called Fifth Gear.

Hey lets say i'm not so bad after all must be because of my abuse i did on Limewire downloading about all of those videos .. just to see them push hardcore cars to the limit..! 👍

Tiff is the man :) Yeah, like Sparxxx said, do a search for 'Top Gear' videos and you'll find a lot of stuff of Tiff getting really sideways in all sorts of stuff.

Tiff is a fantastic driver, I'm not overly keen on his presenting, but I still watch 5th gear.

PD should hire these guys to test their games since they're really part of the few people on earth that have driven almost every car available in the Gran Turismo series in real life, and as close to the extent that we push the cars too while racing...

You honestly think they didn't?

Btw, I already saw a race where Tiff races against the producer of this game (whose name is way to complicated at this time of the day) and Tiff looses.
:dopey:

you mean Kazunori Yamauchi? I'd like to see how Kazunori drives in GT4 👍

He is also an ex LeMans driver.

1: Tiff is not The Stig. I once id read a thread, where most of peeps thought that Stig is someone else already retired british racing driver.
2: Tiff and Kaz did race on Le Sarthe, using JGTC supras that do NOT reach 230 mph. Tiff did lose control in one turn and slid off to sand and that's it, I have a vid of that. And, IMO, clarkson is much more fun than Tiff is, even though, old fat man is lousier driver. I just can't help laughing when I see the episode where Clarkson hits his head when driving MG X-power SV..

Im pretty sure from memory (Ive got the vid around somewhere) that they raced on Fugi speedway, if you have the vid handy please check again.

Oh man.

The stig is NOT Damon Hill. He has been the stig on occasion though. The rumour is that the Stig is no one person. There are a few race drivers that rotate.

Tiff tried the Jaguar LeMans test on the muslane straight on his own. Reaching 230mph. The supra race was on Fuji Speedway. I think he was in the lead till he went off. Still didn't lose by much.

And the bit that says, fastest driven, fastest crah = 230mph is in REAL life. Not the game.

I gotta see that GT4 clip :dopey:

And I agree, Clarkson is a lot funnier and a better host by miles... but Needell is improving as a presenter too. The best is, of course, that both of them have running shows ;)

As for the Stig's identity... there are SO many suggestions, I think there have been at least 100 pages of posts on that topic over at FinalGear...

[OFF-TOPIC] That guy really has good ares of interests, driving and reading books of Spitfire pilots! [/OFF-TOPIC]

Needell was good on Top Gear but Clarkson's style is more to my liking. It's nice to see someone doing what they really enjoy! :)

Jimjams: What were the differences in handling between Gran Turismo4 and real cars?

Tiff: Real cars bend when you crash them! But GT4 does have the basic characteristics amazingly true to life.

There ya go...

Well that's a really specific response...

"Basic characteristics" could mean anything from the cars having four wheels, to the cars featuring understeer and oversteer (not necessarily realistic over/understeer, but just the fact that it exists), to the cars accurately simulating the manner in which the suspension, wheels, and tires move, spin, and bend in relation to the road...

I wouldn't be so eager to use his statements as evidence supporting the realism of what is possibly the only game he's ever played.

As for the topic of Top Gear and Fifth Gear, I'm noticing some confusion among some of our members, so...

Tiff, Vicki, Tom, and others = Fifth Gear
Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, James May = Top Gear
Fifth Gear = Car evaluations concern the practical more than the emotional. Often includes cars that are quite ordinary.
Top Gear = Car evaluations concern the emotional more than the practical. Predominantly features sporty cars, and a Stig-driven laptime comparison for pretty much every single one.
Top Gear != Fifth Gear

I love Tiff, and I like the rest of the Fifth Gear crew, but Top Gear is a much, much better show. Much more entertaining, and they aren't afraid to say what they really think...

Jeremy Clarkson also has driven new Ford GT..

"Oh, look at that! I feel almost like 6-years old again.. *awkward silence* in matter of fact, I think I wet myself.."

that's what he said when he saw GT's engine bay..

The other basic difference between 5th and Top Gear is that the 5th Gear crew can actually drive...well apart from Tom Ford ;)

must be because he's so fat.. that's why his GT didn't like him.. 💡

and, after all, it's aFORD ...

(stands for

Fix
Or
Repair
Daily, btw.. )

just like my first car was..

well, I'm buying a new one, and it'll be.. a Honda Civic! :dopey:
