Well, it is 3:30am here and once again I am wide awake.

It may be the weather, or it may be the crack, but either way I never can fall asleep at more of a "normal" time of the night.

I usually make my way to bed at about 6am, sleep until about 9am, then I am up again 'till about 6am.

A grand total of about 3 hours of sleep just about every night.

I rule. 👍 Yep.

Do you sleep at odd hours like me and also how many hours a night of rest do you typically get?

I sleep at like 4am usually, but since there's no more classes, I wake up much later than usual

during the semester, I would sleep around 3 or 4, and then wake up by 7 the next day to attend an 8am class.

Right now, I don't have a job and my classes are pretty much over for this semester so I'm getting lots of sleep. On average I get around 10 or 11 hours sleep when I don't have to be up for anything. Otherwise I usually get around 6 or 7 hours.
I'm a night person so I schedule my classes for afternoons and evenings if possible. That way, even on days that I have classes, I still get plenty of sleep. Otherwise, if I had morning classes, I'd stay up late anyway and I'd only end up getting 2 or 3 hours of sleep. It was horrible when I used to do that.

6 hours. No more no less. Ill be dead tired if I sleep more or less for the rest of the day.

Well, usually I do one all nighter a week... This semester I've done an allnighter every mon. and wed. pretty much since Aug.
If I'm not doing an all - nighter it's either 4-5a.m. to 9 or 6-7a.m. to about 11. Hence my smiley face after my name...

I have horrible sleeping habits. I normally go to bed at about 10:30, and I get up at about 6:00. But 9 times out of 10, I'll wake up in the middle of the night for no apparent reason and not be able to fall back asleep for an hour or two. Normally I get about 6 hours of sleep in total though.

A perfect slep for me is 9-10 hours. Minimum 6-7 to function well the next day. I sleep in 2 periods, first like a stone for 4 hours and then the rest is on/off dreamsleep in 1-2 hour cycles.

Sleping kicks ass, It's an underrated hobby.

I go to bed at 10:00 and get up at 4:00. If I go to bed later I get up later. I'll sleep no later than 8:00 on weekends, usually earlier. I hate feeling like I slept the day away. My wife, however, hibernates. She'll sleep until she absolutely must get up, on weekends usually about 10:00 or 10:30, unless I make too much noise, which it is in my best interest not to do.

Both uf us would naturally sleep from 1:00a to about 9:30a given our natural rhythms. However, given the standardized schedule, I typically sleep from 11:30p to about 6:00a. One or two nights a week I'll stay up past 1:00, but not lately. I do tend to wake up at least once during the night, for a noticeable period of time.

When I was in school as an architecture student, I could go indefinitely on 4 hours a night, and function for about 48 hours on no sleep. But I'm losing that ability

Me too. It's weird. I wake up between midnight and about 2:00 every single night. I get out of bed and go eat a snack, maybe have a smoke out on the back porch, have a glass of water and take a leak, and go back to bed. But if I go bed as little as 30 minutes later than usual (10:30) I won't wake up until the alarm.

I usually try to go to bed around 10:30 pm but most of the time I don't fall asleep until after 11:30 pm and wake up around 6:40 am every morning. I need to change that too since winter is coming so I won't be late to school every other morning like I have been the last few years.

I seem to spend most of my time doing things with either one of many things. They include: fraternity events, college work, website design, my playstation 2, and, of course, GTPlanet. So I end up with 3 hours a night on average. Last week I only got 10 hours the whole week, so it varies.

Left to my own devices (ie unemployed) I go to sleep at 2am-4am and wake up at 11am-1pm. At work, it's more like midnight to 7.30am.

Oddly, if deprived of a natural light cycle, the human body adopts a 26 hour rhythm. How odd is that?

depends on if I have an assignment or exam coming up or not. My pattern is from 2-15 hours per night. 15 is reserved for weekends and last night since I had to wake up @ 4am to get to an exam on time without worrying about my train being delayed. That was one rough day :(.

Because of assignments, the longest I've gone is about 1.5 weeks with 10 hours of sleep...during ramadan so no coffee for me

I can say that I try to get 8 hours each night, but it usually averages around 7 and a half per night (during normal circumstances. when there's no school I can sleep for 10+ with no problem...)

For those of you who sleep eight plus hours a night...

Don't you feel like lazy-asses?! Don't you feel like you missed out on hours of life in an unconscious state? I don't get the whole sleeping for recreation thing.

I got about 2 hours of sleep last night, but I usually get about 5 during the weekdays. On the weekends I get about 10 hours of sleep per night unless I have work.

You're really supposed to get at least eight hours of sleep a night (non-adults, at least). I generally get around six hours on school days, so I like to get some more on the weekends. Plus, I really dislike waking up too early. I usually wake up around 9:00 am on weekends. I like to be able to sleep longer, and it catches me up on the sleep I've missed, so I won't be overly exhausted later.

I don't have a job, or a life for that matter, but I certainly don't sleep 10+ hours. I mostly sleep 5.5 or 6 hours.

I sometimes stay up late sometimes chatting the night away with some friends on AIM though. Such days I go to bed at 3 or 4 am then wake up at like 10.

I go to bed early. I have to be at work at 5 in the morining. Anywhere from 8-10 is fine. Then I come home around when all the kids come home from school.

Some times I put in a little overtime.

You're right man...I woke up @ 1 today - that annoyed me because there was a lot I needed to get done today. But it's hard to wake up early when you had about 2 hours sleep the night before and spent the entire week working your brain to death & not getting enough sleep trying to grasp a more thorough understanding of the material for all your classes for your exams.

Midterms were worse since I had no caffiene in that 2 week time period due to Ramadan & fasting

Kind of the same for me, except my mom drives me to school so I'm usually not late. The wierd thing with me is this: If I go hit the sack at 10:30, but don't fall asleep until 11:00, it's harder for me to wake up. (Even though I'm getting a good amount of sleep). If I stay up (Fridays and Saturdays) until 3 or 4 a.m, I can wake up at 7:00 and not be the least bit tired.

My sleeping pattern sucks! i ve been going to bed later at night cos theres no more skool, but im still waking up at 6.30am every moring!

Since my stint with the "Canoe Club" I can function on as little as 4 hrs in a night. However, for the safety of the people that must be around me, I usually sleep from about 11:00 pm till just before 5:00am.
