I hate it.
I was in a 505PP room, bunch of guys dominating with the changed PP cars. Hitting 300+Km/h, a normal 505PP car would only hit around 270-280. This room was on Nurburgring.

PD has almost ruined the game, because people will niow start using "cheat cars" to win when other people have just normal cars.

Figure it out and do the same. They did,so how is it cheating?

I just wonder what people would be saying if it was the opposite. What if it was like 2.10 before and switched to 2.09 PP ratings. people would be going crazy...but in the other direction. LOL.

Change was needed, as some cars were in dire need of a boost, but this is a bit extreme. Dial it back by 50% or something.

Actually it doesn't affect me that much personally,I don't race online much. Although from what I'm hearing it does seem like PD did a little too much adjustment to it. I'm sure they will tweak it again.

Yes, and for the same reasons, all justified. It was a bad update.

I hate the 2.10 update.

It has forced me to change the way I host my room.

OP please add [POLL] or something to the tread title to encourage more people to vote.

This update does not effect people that don't race online. In fact it helps them because the stupid AI robots don't complain.

Only people that race real people should be allowed to vote.

I do race with real people, Infact I'm in a league. I don't care beacause people before made it one sided by using 4WD and race cars (The PP before had no good effect either). This is basically the same but now it is one sided with FR and race cars.

GT5 v1.0 ==> v2.09 505pp was the name of the game for many, as we got accustomed to this pp, and the cars that we liked to drive.

GT5 v2.10 ===> preserve your rage, and do not! host, or join "505" as this is no longer the same 505 as was above. Find or make new pp, new rules, redisover cars, perhaps rediscover GT300 / F1 class, as I'm, so doing now. I'm done with online "Road cars" racing, until GT6 on PS4 is out.

Take your track knowledge earned from the time we spent at 505, and try F1 no aids on it, you will be pleasantly surprised at the relaxed sensation. PD did something to make road cars on RS tires handle worse than before, but they did the right thing. They want people to drive different cars that are offered in game, and to try other tires than just RS. Kudos to them, but change yourself in the process. I like the dynamics induced in 2.10, because it was beggining to feel lame that all 505 cars seemed to travel in the same speed in a straight line. It's more dynamic now. Don't race LFA limited engine, with a Toyota Supra that has less limiter, it's no wonder they dominate now.

I'm for this change, but it came a bit late in the game, no matter, good things are coming soon, PS4, GT6, we're gonna be spoiled with those graphics and sounds. AMD Bulldozer technology, easier developing, and easier patching and updates! Kaz , PD, do you read GTPlanet forums? in case, cheers and bless you guys.

Sorry for the dumb question, but could anyone explain what the new update does?
In this thread you are talikng about 505PP.
Is that the only "PP class" that is ruined (have "cheat cars") after the update?

After the PP system is ****ed up, are there better ways to host a lobby?
For example a weight and hp restriction?

In the 505pp update. The FR cars lost a few PP but no BHP.

This made it 1 sided and people didn't like it. I don't care beacause it was 1 sided to begin with (to me).

BHP and Weight limit is the best option so far.

So FR cars can be "better" now with the same PP...
That sounds bad to me. :grumpy:

Is this only the case with 505PP, or with all PPs?

I honestly dont care. All I do is drag race online. The HP hasn't changed, so there really is no difference to me. We don't set regulations by PP strictly HP so like I said no problems.

Now, as for the seasonal's, I like the new PP setup it gives you a better chance of catching the rabbit. But its still flawed. I honestly don't know how a 100 HP Mini Cooper can keep up or be faster than a 200 HP Honda Civic. And come on with the rabbit crap, the last seasonal, umm... the 400pp lightweights something like that (PS3 not on right now) anyways, two time markers in at the Ring and the rabbits lead goes from 25 seconds to almost a minute.

What happened to qualifying? Every racing league has some sort of qualifying. Be it Heats, Hot Laps whatever.

PS just so you know my Honda won all the events:dopey:

I've done tests for 1½ year (13.000 laps on Trial Mountain) and can tell you that it's with all PP. 2/3 of my 700 cars have to be adjusted, 98 % are being more competitive. 425 pp is now mostly the same as old 490 pp (for those to have to be adjusted). Haven't yet noticed that the FR's should be superior, as a lot of MR's a.o. also hits the top of the list in any pp class

Wow, that's a big change if the 425PP are now mostly the old 490PP...
Do you have any idea what PP the old 450PP is now?

I find the amount of apathy about this subject by the online racing community to be totally shocking.

At the time of this writing only 38 people have voted in the pole and 58% of them say they don’t care.

This is a HUGE deal for those of us that race online every day.

You “game players” “a-specers” “b-specers” robot (bob) racers, I can see how you might like this pp change, but it is killing online racing.

I have gone back and forth on how to cope with this in the room I host every night. When I ban FR cars and the Ruf 3400s from my room – it grows, when I lift the ban – it shrinks.

There are less than 450 FR cars in a game with nearly 1200 cars. Of the 450 or so FR cars there are I would guess about 200-300 affected by this absurd PP change.

I am not going to limit the number of competitive car to just a few hundred in a game that has nearly 1200 cars.

I am now banning FR cars, and the Ruf 3400s.

I have tried to offer both but like I said, when I unban the people just leave.

I ran a ban on FR cars and the ruf 3400s last night, then I switched to 400 pp at eiger and lifted the ban. Because I wanted to run some classic cars- it turned chaotic real fast. I don’t know if it was the 400pp, the switch to eiger, or the lifting of the ban – but half of the room left right away, and the one person that did speak up (in the chatbox – no mics in my room) said that it was because of the FR imbalance.

From now on I will only be allowing FR cars in my room at 375pp. And I have only run a 375 room once. I’m going to miss driving my Mercedes 190 evo II, but PD has turned it into a monster.

The online racing community is still racing online and not reading & writing here all the time. But you're completely right. It is killing online racing and only banning FR seems to help.

The PP system is an extremely important concept in the game.

For the purpose of making racing close between a wide range of different cars, simple power and weight limits do not suffice. You need to account for natural grip, aerodynamics, engine torque, vehicle type, and other things. The simplest way to do this is assign every car a figure, but this requires a complex formula.

The system was never perfect, but I'd say before the update, the PP system was about 90% perfect. Pretty good in fairness, considering the amount of data and number of cars involved.

What PD did with 2.10 is take the fine Swiss wristwatch of the PP system, and try to tweak it with a PZ3 screwdriver.

It is nothing short of a shocking lack of professionalism from PD.

I've found the PP wrong to begin with.

So your saying discrimination against FR is the best solution.
