Why is it that fat people don't realize why they're always overheated - or why it is they it happens to be them who thinks the air conditioning is as a reasonable level while everyone else is bringing in their winter coat.

It's because you're fat. You have blubber that is insulating your body and preventing you from experiencing the meatlocker-like temperatures the rest of us face.

Can you tell them that? No. How can you breach that subject?

Me: "It's cold in here."
Big Guy: "You're such a wimp. I think it's fine."
Me: "Yea, I guess I'm just a wimp."

They look at you like you're being unreasonable. You think its freezing, you're having trouble typing on your keyboard at work because you're wearing mittens. You try to tell that to your 200+ lb coworker and he looks at you like you're nuts!

I know?

At least when I go out into the horrible hot weather, my fat retains some cold for 5 or 6 seconds.

Sucks if you have ignorant fatties at your workplace though.

I have run into many an ignorant fatty - I'm related to several large people who do not understand why they are warmer than the rest of us.

How can I possibly hint at the cause... I want them to know the truth but I don't want to hurt feelings (hey, I am a nice guy afterall - even if I start threads like this one).

Just tell them. It's not like they DON'T know. If they are really oblivious then they are complete morons.

I guess you could strike up a conversation about fitness and stuff. Tell everyone how great you felt after going to the gym a few times. And then slowly bring up each little thing into the conversation. "...You know, you feel a lot less overheated after dropping some weight, obviously. It's just easier to feel comfortable. You should check out your gyms and stuff too. Extra weight just keeps you hot and uncomfortable all the time. That's the case with my [insert relative here] who dropped a whole lot of weight over the summer."

lol. Improv, bro.

Danoff is skinny!? For some reason, I thought you were middle aged and bit fat. :D

Anyways, similar thing happens at one of the offices in the building I work in. There's the big guy, I think he's about 300 lbs. Then of course the skinny guy, about 200 lbs, but is really tall(6' 3" ?). During the summer, the air conditioning is freezing in the room, so the skinny goes to leave the door open to let some warm air in. However, big guy was sweating as it was. He's all worked up(didn't see who left the door open), closes the door shut. This goes back and forth. They are really nice people, but they really get worked up during this process.

I had to share the story, but I got no answer either(sorry!). :D I hope, somebody comes up with a good idea, so I can recommend it at work.

I have to be politically correct here:

There are no "fat" people.

Corpulent, overweight, obese, stout, porcine... but not "fat". :dopey:

I'm very "slim" so I can identify (being cold when "heavier" people are comfortable).

Can you tell them that? No.

I disagree here...

Oh, no! The PC whore is here! :p

I think that you can tell a fat person that they're fat and have a layer of blubber. If they get offended, then they're in denial. You can only say that to Obese people, though. People who are borderline should not be told they're fat!

Fat people killed my dog. :(

You actually see your coworkers? It's like cubeville over there!

You could use your none-writing hand to write an anonymous note and leave it on the person's desk. :D

I rather be in a cold room with a fat person than in a warmer room which makes the fat dude stink up the entire place with the smell of unwashed lard and asscrack sweat.

Do you write poetry? That was quite descriptive. :dopey:

Was he delicious?

Seriously, who wants to work with a fat sweaty guy? He'll stink up the place!

Freeze, danoff! The alternative is disgusting.

Sorry to hear that. Would I be correct in assuming that it was an accident?

You wouldn't be correct in not assuming that you could assume it.

Genius! This could be very useful in the future. 👍

Would I be correct in not assuming that I could not assume it? If so, could I assume otherwise?

I'd never accuse someone of being PC because it's so frigging dumb to say. The term arose on the Columbus Day Quincentennary when the republic was honest about the conquest and wouldn't party as previously promised. If someone uses a nonoffensive vocabulary that person is considerate, not PC. If someone has a heavy-handed agenda that person is narrow-minded, not PC. Unless you mean Providence College, PC is as meaningless as the president's apology for slavery. Maybe PE should be on the radio, not just in the African-American Norton Anthology.

Okay, okay, enough Paul Barman.

Seriously though...Who cares whether one is PC or not?

Thanks for the clarification.

Look, You ain't gonna offend me, telling me I'm fat.
I already know that I'm "plus-sized". And if you don't quit wearing that aftershave that smells like apple pie, I'ma take a bite outta you. Capisce?
You wanna hurt my feelings?
Tell me Pizza Hut is going out of business, or that "upsizing" my meal is no longer gonna be an option.

If you know your skinny, little, meatless ass is cold, don't blame me, and don't complain.
You're a big boy. We won't be offended at all if you're smart enough to bring your sweater.
Besides, if you were a skinny person with a metabolism, you wouldn't be complaining in the first place.:D

true. It's a lot easier to wear a sweater than to lose 50 pounds.

No, I was referring to his employees. I meant it's a lot easier for danoff wear a sweater than to get his co workers to lose 50 lbs.

I'm really just messing with you.
I'm not at all touchy about my size, except when my mother is the verbal abuser.
But that's only because it would be less than apropos for me to sit on her...

You know, in 20 years 80% of the American population will be overweight, you should probably start wearing a jumper because soon you'll be outnumbered.

danoff's also talking about his hands. When it's cold, there's one part of your body(other than ears), that never seem to warm up, and they are your hands. I'm skinny, too.

Sit on 'em. that or rub them all over your fat friends' crevices. IT'S SO WARM IN THE CREASE!

Yeah, I feel ya. I'm the same way, except sub my mom with the ladies. I would like to lose weight, though. This way when I sing some westside story, "I feel pretty" can have even more justification. bahahaha.
