Hi,

I have an idea of creating a small comunity of traders that want to collect cars, paints museum cards and other items without using the dupe or duplicate glitch. I just want to enjoy the game this way and for what i've seen so other people.

I respect people who dupe and have nothing against it. I just wanted to trade things within a small community that doesn´t use those glitches.

I don´t have any method of confirmation. I will have just to trust on people. So the community shouldn't be very big (10 to 15 persons).

The thing is, there's no way to tell if the person dupes or not. This is why I gave up on trading here.

I'm surprised that duping is acceptable on this forum, but hey, to each his own I guess. Not getting at any dupers here, so please don't attack me.
 
Its easy enough to tell, send them the car first and then watch what they do ... if they are duping they will receive the car, exit the game for a short period, come back on to send the car, go back off for a short period and then come bac onto GT5 for a while longer. You can see the person has copied his save and then reloaded it :)

Not that it matters like but still, you could tell that way :)

There's no reliable way to tell. Someone could have already multiple dupped copies in their garage before a trade. Or, they could have dupped cars on an alternate account and they simply send an extra car back into their main account afterwards. In addition, there's no way to verify that all of that person's previous trading partners didn't have dupped cars.

It only takes one.
 
If Divinus wants a group of people that don't dupe to trade with, more power to him.

What's not fine is if this thread turns into another duping is awesome/duping is the Devil thread. Keep it clean, keep it nice.
 
what would be the point of such? you have nothing to gain from this, imo.
you'll just have a community of frustrated grinders.

dont get me wrong, im not against your idea in anyway. whatever floats your boat...
 
It's a good idea, basically just what me and my mates do with each other but on a smaller scale. We decide who is buying what car for each seasonal and then pass it through the group. We do this for each car. We are all at different stages so the guys further on with stacks of money obviously buy the more expensive cars etc. Gets the thumbs up from me 👍
 
I have one question about this, how would you build your garage up if your trading cars away ?
 
i dont understand what the difference would be between duping the cars or just letting bob grind away for hours to get the money to buy some of them? either way, 'you' didnt really earn it.
 
It's impossible to tell if people dupe or not, so good luck trying to find people who share your vision of a "zero duping community"

One was designed as a feature, the other was an unintentional side effect.

Anyway, I don't duplicate my cars to people, this may have something to do with not having traded more than once but hey, I still ain't duping. ;)
 
Checking if a player, a PSN friend is a duper it's really easy and quite secure on verification. Let me bring an example...

BLACK and WHITE are two fictitious players you're friend with.

BLACK is a duper and WHITE is a (hope it's the correct form, I'm not english) "correct", loyal to gt5 fair method of play. I'm only making an example and don't absolutely think I'm not respecting the duping (backup?) method - everyone has each own way of enjoy gt5. Ok, let's go.

Both players want to trade with you (let's say) a CUCCUMA '01 premium car, in exchange for your own (fair, clean) FIAT PANDA ChromeLine Saturn Orange Juice/Peeled Potatoes Blue Striped '90 ^^

First, check your friends' registry (it's in the game, online community section) from game, if you check wisely and carefully, you'll discover 90% of times that while WHITE has probably only one (maybe, not probably, max two if it's the lucky case) sentence with the statement "You've received a CUCCUMA '01 car as gift" (or same phrase stating car was found/bought etc), the BLACK player has for sure at least two or waaay more similar sentences. If not for the CUCCUMA car, it's quite sure for another type... And way more strange lines with massive paints (same, most of time?) gifts etc, I may suspect.

That's quite clear to understand, even if that BLACK player is an alternate account you will find from the registry various strange things (e.g. having a Vettel while staying at LV0 can sound suspicious, having a backup account it's like duping for me) and WHITE had a higher chance to have, due to his "loyalty", a quite linear registry: won that event, received that gift, bought this car, won this event, unlocked that special event, gold this patent, etc...

The trick is to read the registry, and have proper ideas by yourself. Sure, someone can trick the registry itself... For example, I'm actually A-Spec 23 and B-Spec 0 and this is simply my second account ^^ (The other one is 29-24 with more than 300 single cars) and nobody can see any strange things... Because this very account has received/exchanged only ONE single car with my main - though it's still a duping method (possible)...! Just wanna tell you there are method in order to "read" some people behavior. About my clean, loyal main account? No way to tell here, I'm already involved in a little group, with real people I know... That's the better method: checking their ps3 for real ahahah ^^

The Dupefest shown here at gtplanet's (and many other forums) it's not of my interest because I like to discover and achieve cars (except the X1, really impossible for me). That's all, mind the registry.
 
The idea from the OP should be respected. Personally, I do not understand what the OP might win or loose from another guy not duplicating cars or items. If the OP feels that duplicating should not be done, then he will win or loose from not doing it himself/herself, I believe.

Nevertheless, everybody is entitled to demand whatever they want in a community, as long as the members are willing to accept.

So, where is the debate? Either join the OP's community or just respect other people's way of thinking.

Duping the cars is a process that isn't built into the game, but winning B-spec events is. He wants to play the game within the established rules and features of the game, so more power to him. 👍
 
The practice of car duplication is a controversial one at best. I am going to close this thread, because I feel that you will only be opening yourselves up to attacks, something which the moderators will be keen to avoid. I think you would be better off creating a social group than having a dedicated thread.
