I'm less than 400,000cr away from being able to afford the Zonda R, which caught my eye in the new car dealer. I need something that is an upgrade over my max tune '91 RX-7 to use in the later races that involve real race cars.

I'm wondering if it will be as fast as anything other than F1 cars in the game.

You can win the Zonda R in B Spec mode, win GT World Championship with him.

If you're asking if its going to be able to fight Group C and LMP1 Le Mans cars, then no, you're better off saving up for the Mazda 787B.
The Zonda will be good enough against GT class race cars, but the Endurance events later on will require the 787B or equivelant (908, R10, etc).

And, as above, you can win it anyway.

The 787B is still one of the fastest, huh? I guess not a whole lot has changed in the last 6 years or so. I was thinking that maybe there are newer and faster cars. Although the 787B is really really fast. I remember there was also that Nissan LeMans, and that red Toyota...

I guess that any car money can buy in real life is never going to be as fast as real race cars... Too bad I don't know what any of them are:ouch: I don't really follow any racing other than top gear or best motoring:dopey:

My zonda R has worked just fine up to the Like the wind event..I don't think it'll have a problem in endurance races or anything else..

regulations slow cars down, the 80s cars have more horsepower and less weight than anything!

If you put modern tyres on one of those and refurbed it so it was brand new I would be interested to see the laptimes.

The Peugeot 908 is considerably less expensive than the 787B. Is it really any slower?

Well, the regulations on motorsports are not quite the same as back in 1991..but even so, the Pug and Audi are comparable.
The Zonda R is just not a Le Mans-spec car, it doesn't have the same levels of downforce.

The 787B (or any Le Mans car for that matter) will always be the best in the game if we ignore F1 cars. They are basically F1 cars with bodywork, they have the huge amounts of downforce and huge amounts of money spent developing them.
They are still slower in acceleration terms than an F1 car, but they are effectively what an F1 car would be if you were designing for endurance rather than sprint racing.

Not really, the 908 is equivelant to the 787B pretty much, as I said. The 787B has a far better sound though (but the diesel Pug does have its own charm!).

This...

The reason for all the regulations lowering HP and performance and downforce in the mid to late 90's is because these cars were getting too fast. They were, as Ardius said, basically F1 cars with bodywork and hence had a faster tops speed due to aerodynamics. Any Group C car in the game (787B, the Nissans, Toyota 88CV) is going to be prettymuch as fast as you're gonna go aside from the RedBull X1.

i love the Carbon Fiber look of it

look in the used car lot i found a few persiacalos in their their quite good for le mans
