Hey, I just went into the " Like the Wind " challenge and did the Indiana motor speed way with the all powerful RM ZR1 w/ 905HP. As i was going into turn 2 into the beginning of the race i was easily overtaken and destroyed on the straight which isn't normal and had a hard time passing them. I have done the race quite a few times and modded the car that they have given me after getting both gold to 10xx HP.

Could anyone help? :]

Turn off ASM and ABS and all else. Active steering set to strong.
trnsmission set to 390Kph.
OR
Use Jeff Gordon's IMPALA Nascar and the same turn OFF all except Ative Steering set to strong.
DONT FORGET TO SWITCH TO RACING SOFT.

Active steering to strong? This is not needed at all and the Nascar is much harder to win with than the Vette.

My guess would be either you have the wrong tires equipped or you are in serious need of an oil change.

The Vette when tuned properly and driven on the right line should be able to turn low 42 second laps with ease and high 41s if you really know what you are doing. The Nascar mentioned above can not even come close to these times.

You do not need active steering. You do not need to turn off your ABS. You do need to make sure ASM is not on.

BTW the Nascars are all equal so there is nothing special about Gordons car they are all the same.

dang I cant get anywhere close to 41 or 42 second lap times in this vette on that race unless i'm drafting from hell. when I won it in the vette it was a mere fluke, I think its much easier to win in the mazda fuirai or whatever its called. also the gt lm spec II wins it way easier, that car can be obtained in the dream car championship, I turned 42 43 second laptimes with it but i don't know how to turn those times with the vette.

The Vette is much harder to turn a good laptime in as it suffers from severe understeer in the corners. Full downforce on the front, 50 or so on the rear and a gearing around 249mph will allow you to hit 225mph on the straights and if your line is good full throttle through the corners.

The Ford GT Test car is faster still capable of mid 41s and easier to drive flat out.

Turn the downforce up, racing softs and lowered suspension should all make it faster. As long as you take the corners smoothly it should be plenty fast enough on the straights.
