As I browse around the forums it seems the correct hp on a ZR1 with RM (fully tuned) should be around 905. Mines only 863? How long does it usually take to "break the engine in".

Thanks a ton.

Have you changed the oil yet?...Can make a huge difference in hp.

I think that car drives very nice at 502 HP and 616 PP.

Made one just to check some suspension settings for someone else, and I really liked it, so I kept it that way. Everything is default after the RM mod.

^Let alone survive at that power level for very long. In the real world that is.

For GT5, it may break many controllers due to frustrated drivers who tried handling that.

out of a 6.2liter engine? maybe in a perfect world. its wicked fast as it is now. with that power it would be uncontrollable and basically just a drag car.

Turbo era F1 cars were getting over 1000bhp from 1.5 litre engines in hyper-stressed qualifying tune. R34 GT-Rs can get a reliable 700-900bhp from a 2.6 litre straight six. 1500 wouldn't be reliable, but it's easier to achieve than you might believe, the Veyron is just an achievement because it's reliable enough to be sold as a production car and is comfortable and easy to drive.

Also, you're right, the engine would go bang fairly quickly, but isn't that why we have the engine rebuild option? Frequent expensive rebuilds like a fair way to penalise huge power outputs, if only it were possible to actually reach said huge power output (not that 900bhp isn't already pretty huge).

As for the 'what's the point?' argument, this is GT5, it clearly tries to cater for everyone, so if someone should want to go crazy and put as much power in whatever car as possible, they should be able to. I can see why PD kept it restrained, though.

Exactly.
Those Vettes in Le Mans had fewer mechanical and engine problems than almost all the others.
Turbo era F1 cars were getting over 1000bhp from 1.5 liter engines in hyper-stressed qualifying tune.

The BRM 16 outputted 410kW and was likely able to output 450kW (500BHP), and that was with a supercharger.
NOT 1000BHP.
It was a V16 1.5 liter engine from the 50's.

In 1987 some of the 1.5l Turbo engines pulled 1500bhp in qualifying mode. As pointed out above they couldn't survive it for very long and were therefore cutback to 900bhp in the races.

One major difference between those cars and a 1500bhp 'Vette would be the size of the rear tyres - they were huuuuge on F1 cars in the late 80s.

Well I just checked the mileage on the car, and it says it has 380 miles on it. I just gave it another oil change but the hp is still at 845. Is this a glitch?

905 is still dumb the zr1 should be able to get 1500 bhp easy

Although the factory backed ZR1 Corvette Racing team car has less than 520 bhp - so much above that and it's very much not realistic.

I'd like to know how some of you are getting over 905 HP? Mine has always ever had that and it now has close to 4000 miles.

I have modded the ZR1 with everything from the Tuning Shop. I have however not done the racing mods, does doing the racing mod take everything and step it up to a better level? I only ever did the RM on the Tuscan Speed 6 to try it out and only Bob has driven the car so far.

From what I know it improves aerodynamics, therefore improving handling.

I think I know why my ZR1 only goes up to 845hp. Before I did the RM, I fully tuned my ZR1 already, then I added the RM. Maybe this is why?

Well it's unusual to go that route since the money you spent on upgrades is wasted, but it should work out the same in the end.

Checked the power limiter?

If all else fails, run a race in the Supercar seasonal to fund another ZR1 RM and see if you can get that one up to 905. :dopey:

It was a dumb move by me, but I needed the RM to win the race I was in

Power limiter's at 100%...

I might try that if nothing works, thanks.
