zr1 (rm) question ?

I accidently bought 90% of the tuning parts for my C6 ZR1 and then I bought the race mod for around 300,000 cr. Went back to the tuning shop and saw that the parts have been fitted in already?

thanks for the info. I can remember something like this on previous gts and I'm a bit skint at moment and didn't want to waste credits .

I think the race mod option actually swaps your car for the race modded version so you loose anything you did to it. The newly modded car does come with race tranny, race exhaust weight reduction and suspension though.

Not true about losing your mods. I had a fully modded ZR1 and did the race modification. At first glance it appears that you lose your mods because the HP level is so low, but you simply have to go to the tuning screen and equip your old parts again. You don't lose anything.

Well you basically waste credits, because doing the race modification installs a couple of parts already (e.g. fully customizable suspension among other things).

Yup, Race Mod installs the race gearbox, race suspension and (I think) the race exhaust.

It's pointless doing the RM on a car that has these - it's generally more cost effective to obtain another base car to mod.

do I have to tune it before I do racing modification or will this result in wasting money on tunes that are overridden . ?

Yep like everyone have said, don't tune it and then mod it. I bought the ZR1 and tuned it and then bought a bone stock Z06 to do the RM to. Cheap and turns out to be the same car.

Never said some credits weren't wasted, just correcting a previous post that the previous mods are lost. Not lost, you just don't get a refund. At first glance it appears that most mods are completely lost until you go to the tuning screen and equip them again.

A base ZR1 costs more than a race gearbox, race suspension and race exhaust so that theory doesn't apply in the case of the ZR1 which was the subject of this topic.
