Sim tires anyone?

I hope not..... lol VG and I came up with some thing different this time based on some of the feedback we've seen.

The combatants
either of the 300ZXTT's vs the Toyota Supra RZ

Mods
Full custimize suspension and Sport Brakes....... no BBC
HP cap of 450 anyway you feel like gettin it
T8 super soft tires
lighweight stage1
and then after those prestaged mods........
spend no more than 11,000 on the drivetrain

the Track
Apricot Hill
Clean laps only please meaning keep at least two tires on the track at all times and the rumble strips are considered track

anybody else guess it? NO TCS or ASM!!!! To hell with driving inhibitors...... its all about you!!! the driver being one with the vehicle lol

Lets dicsuss T's till Wed Nov 5 sometime later at night for those late night jaunts lol IDAFC

:( i thought it was gonna be the rx7 rz. i was getting ready to do my evil laugh. geez....now THIS is gonna be tough. which one to pick, the lesser of 2 evils here. and no tcs? in these cars? cripes, we may as well be on sims, no T8's gonna have grip w/ these cars. haha although...i havent driven on anything BUT sims for the past week and half, so this is gonna be a real change. apricot hill for these cars too....eehhh. this is certainly gonna be interesting. now lemme get this straight. 450hp however we wanna do it. t8 tires, weight stage 1. then 11,000 to spend on drivetrain meaning....transmission parts? what about brakes and suspension, do we get those free too or is that part of the 11,000 cost too? what about oil changes? just wanna make sure im clear on this

i just realized the deadline too. yikes, 5 days, hope i can squeeze in some time w/ this
 
It's anything in the "Drivetrain" submenu in the Tune section. This includes:

Clutch
Flywheel
Driveshaft
Transmission
Limited Slip.

You can get Sport Brakes, free of charge, but no brake balance.

I was testing the cars before we posted this, and surprisingly, neither of them came around horribly. Both were very fun to drive.
 
hmm. this is true. just tried both of em out. both very easy to drive. mmmmm, t8's....so soft...so sticky. i can actually use the throttle now. which car to use tho. whichever ones faster of course! i'll just run em both and take whichever one i end up w/ thats faster by wed.

Well I think Im gonna go with the Z cuz I'm not particularly fond of the Supra anymore......... asshappy pile. Anyways here's the t's from my best clean lap.

Did a few laps with the Supra:

T3: 56.6

A question about the hp: I set up my car at 445, but if I drive it for a while, it may go over 450. Is this allowed, or should I reload the game save once the hp gets to 451?
 
hmm, not a very popular race this week huh? haha. i promise i'll try to get some runs in soon. ive just been working all week, and havent had the energy, and when i did, Halo or Max Payne 2 usually occupied my free time :) i'll see what i can do tomorrow tho
 
I totally understand where you guys are coming from..... GT3 is being slowly pushed away for Madden, NHL, Tiger Woods, and Gladius.
 
Didn't get as much time in on this as I wanted, and not near as much as I needed. :(

Ran the Supra RZ, and bounced back and forth between a setup with the racing transmission, and a setup with the normal tranny but with triple clutch, racing flywheel, and carbon shaft. As it turned out the normal tranny was close enough to win the duel. Had the car saved at 448 hp, which gave me 10 laps without going over 450. Anyway, the bottom line:

12.690 27.472 56.293 1'22.240

Anyway, it's been fun racing with you guys (if I'm actually racing with anybody :lol: ) But I'm off to register for the GTP Weekly Race Series. Wish me luck. My "registration" lap was !'@%.!)#. I'm guessing I'll be a beginner, :rolleyes:

Well I didnt put much time into this one at all..... 20 laps at most. But I did throw out a 1'22.994 in a 300ZX 2seater. I went with the midgrade tranny and that put me redling 5th before I had to brake. Oh well. Didnt seem like much interest this time around. Well I have a battle of two cars in mind but dont know if anyone would be interested. I wanna set this one up differently try something alittle bit different. I'll start the new thread as "34vsRS" hopefully this different setup will draw some interest.
