We’ve potentially got a launch date for the next game in the Forza Horizon series, with a date in May purportedly confirmed for Forza Horizon 6 via a popup in Forza Horizon 5.
The information was posted to Twitter by Xbox fan channel Xbox Infinite, noting that the popup — for pre-ordering FH6 — had appeared while playing Forza Horizon 5. As yet, nobody has been able to replicate this situation, so we currently only have this single source to go on but we’re leaning towards it being genuine rather than an elaborate fake.
Xbox Infinite was able to provide a screenshot of this pre-order popup, which revealed information about the Premium Edition benefits as well as rather firmly hinting at a full version launch date of May 19, 2026:
The popup appears to sport almost identical wording to the initial launch announcement — which also leaked out early last year, again through official channels — while also including new information.
As we’d come to expect, the Premium Edition features listed for Forza Horizon 6 include VIP membership, a Welcome Pack and the Car Pass, along with post-launch bonuses of two car packs — called “Time Attack” and “Italian Passion” — and two unspecified “premium expansions”. It also comes with four days’ early access which, given that it begins on May 15, gives us that May 19 full release date.
Also listed in the text box is a car count for launch, with “over 550” cars mentioned specifically. That means many of the current selection in FH5 won’t be making the cut but it is a bigger launch-day count than FH4’s 502.
The remainder of the screenshot appears to comprise a new in-game image featuring temples, cherry blossoms, and a different face (the western side, we think) of the landmark Mount Fuji as previously seen from the north in the trailer back in September.
Whether this all pans out or not, it’s the start of a busy window for Forza Horizon 6 as the title will be featured in an Xbox Developer Direct this month, which will include a first look at gameplay. That starts at 1800 UTC on Thursday January 22, so watch this space for all the latest as we get it.
