The Gran Turismo Sweet Spot

As the name suggests, this build is a compromise between comfort, stability, and performance with PlayStation compatibility. The Fanatec CSL Cockpit v1.5 and Seat Bundle gives you a solid, comfortable driving position, and the Fanatec Gran Turismo DD Pro (8 Nm) FullForce bundle adds a "direct drive" wheel base (the wheel is attached straight to the motor, with no gears or belts in between), a Gran Turismo branded steering wheel, and a decent set of pedals. You can get all of it for less than $1,200.

The cockpit is a great foundation if you want to add parts to it later. The wheel base also has a built-in QR2 quick release connector, so you can upgrade to a wide range of other Fanatec wheels down the road.

This build is PlayStation only as it stands, but you can add Xbox support later with other Fanatec wheels, but that's an extra cost to plan for.

You could save some money with the 5 Nm version of the wheel base, but we believe most serious drivers spending this much will appreciate the extra power of the 8 Nm version, and that's the one we're recommending.
