stock is good for turn one you can throw it in a lot faster than with chris' tune, the other parts you have to be very careful with the throttle and brakes otherwise you'll lose a lot of time. I've used 5/5/5 LSD and it seems to help a bit, I also lowered the car to -5/-5 so Im somewhere in between of the grip a lower car provides but avoiding the understeer of putting it too low, seems to work okay for me.

Soooo. I tried the above with 5/5/5 - but it wasn't any faster than 10/5/5 and so I decided to take a different tack. I've been improving my line, and avoiding understeer more and more in the slow corners and part of this is by not being so aggressive on the throttle, and slowly improving my trail braking skills. I was re-watching Chris's first sector video and I couldn't work out how he was managing to brake so late on the esses in sector 1. So I thought I'd use his brake balance - massive improvement straight away, I was able to brake later, trail braking was much easier and braking just felt a lot smoother and easier. I thought this was kind of strange, but I think too much thinking about it will only make my brain hurt, it's faster and that's all I care about.

So after realising that Chris's brakes were better, I thought I'd try his whole tune - my throttle control has much improved with this car over the week, not to mention doing the Viper TT at this same course has helped with that, so I wasn't too bothered about putting the LSD up 10/10/5 - there was no adjustment time, because I had already learned to not mash the throttle so much in this car, it just pushes more in the slower corners, so exiting corners is much smoother and easier now, despite my dislike of it earlier in the week.

But a few key lessons have already been learned, so this was more natural and did make me go faster. So anyway, here are my new splits. And very glad I am to finally use Chris's tune as it has made me faster in T1 and T2 and only slightly faster in T3, but that was fast last time anyway. Hopefully more work with these settings and I can improve some more, and improve my trail braking which seems to really help in this TT.

34.015
32.785

I think I still have more in T2, but T1 is much improved, because of the trail braking and the 5/5 BB.

And my previous splits for comparison (because I think about this stuff ):

35.446 34.617 34.985 34.801 34.694 34.446 34.580 34.491 34.419
33.949 33.815 32.983 33.260 33.159 33.061 32.903 32.712 32.918

Any other DS3's having as much trouble as I am with this combo? I have my triggers set as gas and brake but the amount of control you need here may be beyond my abilities. Not only am I new I have a DS3 to boot.

Still have the same 34.9 & 33.2 splits

I was really struggling Jon, it's not what you want to hear but I switched to my wheel and got an almost instant reward.

I have my DS3 set up the same as your i.e. triggers not sticks it's is definitely better but one thing though, turn up the controller sensitivity to max (7)....it seems to helps smooth out the accelerator and brake.

If you're having too much trouble controlling wheel spin set TC to 2 it's just enough to help but not too much to slow you down significantly.

One more tip.......mix the tunes, use the gearing from Chris and the rest from Praiano. I ran that for a while and it seemed to suit the DS better. 👍

New splits, bad T1 but better overall

I decided to take a leaf out of Dennis's book and reset the suspension to stock (apart from rear toe at 0.00) and somehow I've become faster. :boggled: The car feels much better through faster bends, particularly turn 1 and the turns in T3 separating the two hairpins.

I better could have kept it to myself

Currently using a setup halfway between Chris's and stock:

33.701
31.993

T3 is a tenth faster.

Want share your tune? Curious what your using

Nice splits 👍

Nothing complicated, all the suspension settings are halfway between the stock tune and Chris's tune, for example the ride height is 5/2. The exception is the rear toe which I have at -0.10. I can't remember the rest of the settings off the top of my head.

The diff and gears are unchanged, apart from the final gear which is slightly longer (I set it so that the car never redlines in 7th).

And thanks - your splits aren't too bad either :)

Thanks

Just did a couple of laps, like you said. But wasn't really working. Went back to the stock setting and was inmiddiatly a second fast and within .3xx my fastest lap. Made some changes to the dempers and that helped me in T2 but need to find my rythym in T1, to pull of my target time. Those changes to the dempers makes T1 and T3 a bit more difficult, specially T1

Latest splits improved .1 overall. Think I am near limit. T1 was worse, but my T3 improved by a few tenths. Now to try and string it all together.

34.601
32.578

33.764
32.207

Got out of shape after the tunnel in t2, but good everywhere else. About .2 left.

I have try'd different set ups, but I am stayin' loyal to Chris's tune :) Not my best first sector but acceptable, best t2 and good last sector aswell, improving my laptime with 0.5 sec.

34.317
32.271

This Citroën, sure does look better than the one I drive in real life ....

Thanks for the tips. I'll try it 👍

Reverted back to the "stock" tune, and managed the following:

33.631
32.035

with a quicker T3.

I have managed a T1+T2 a tenth quicker than these, but I messed up the last corner. :ouch:

Are you trying to fool me now

Finally managed to pry myself away from the seasonal TTs

New Splits:

33.403
31.677

Still didn't improve by a significant amount overall though but hopefully this will be enough to challenge for the win :)

Well, I'm out of time. Wasn't able to put three good sectors together, but I'm submitting my time now.

I can keep doing this all night really, if it makes me faster over the line:
