Even though all JDM cars for Europe come through NL first??
Bizarre. Thought Holland had a lot of JDM cars, especially since you can homologate them easier than in my Country.

I have dips on a R33 from extreme imports, if the price is right I might be heavily tempted
http://www.extreme-imports.net/homepage.php

also a nice link for R33 owners not driving on the wrong side of the road:
http://www.lhd-gtr.com/

Looks nice your R33 👍 really nice

Thanks but most jdm cars actually come to the UK first. im pretty sure that about 75% of the skylines in the netherlands had an uk owner first.
why?
because in england you will find alot of rhd cars, like skylines etc. and they already have an eu registration that it needed to get a dutch license plate. if it comes directly from japan you still have to get that eu thing wich can be pretty expensive. so getting one from the uk is much cheaper/easier.

if you want a car from the netherlands try SW-Performance, he worked for Extreme imports (first mashamoto) but started for himself and is well known here.
he can also import a car for you from the uk and also has good connections in japan.
if a car arrives and seems to be a complete wreck that doesnt come close to the action pictures he will sort things out and find another car for you.
most skylines in holland are imported via sw-performance.
about every two weeks he goes to england to search for more good cars to import. mine is imported via sw-performance aswell.

ATS-imports or Pro-Import are good aswell. although pro import is more foccused on maintenance and tuning/mapping of skylines, but they still can import a car for you. (like cars from Pistonheads)

@ Blitz187, there arent really much skylines driving around in amsterdam, and because they all have a big front bumper thats sitting pretty low they dont like speed bumps. and amsterdam has alot of busy traffic so not very ideal to drive a sky through there. many sky owners (especially gt-r's) also got another car as a daily drive that they can use in city's like a-dam.

so thats also a reason why you wont see many of them on normal work days.

the easiest way to spot a skyline or supra is to drive around on the freeways/ N-roads in the weekend on a sunny day, may sound funny but also take a closer look at big gas stations (that still sell euro 98, Especially BP) and parking lots of fast food restaurants. although its not very likely to spot a gtr there. gtst's and NA Supra's can be found there pretty easeally these days.

8 out of 15 "skylines" in the netherlands are R33 GTS-T's or R33 GTR lookalike's.
1/15 R32 GTS-T/GTR
1/15 R34 GT-T/GTR
1/15 Stagea/ sedan V35 etc
2/15 R33 GTR
2/15 R35 GTR

G35, G37 Infinity's are easier to find though.

SkylineObsession
Any car that has the Skyline name, or part of the name (Nissan GT-R), is a Skyline. :)

Ah, you see I disagree with that. Previous SKYLINE GT-Rs LOOKED like Skylines, shared the same basic design inside and out.

The new GT-R shares nothing with a modern Skyline, its a completely different car.

I somehow missed the "Nissan GT-R" part in SkylineObsession's post :ouch:

I agree with you the Nissan GT-R is not a Skyline, it has branched off and is completely different.

............

Thanks, bookmarked.

Saw 2 interesting R33 on the SW site.
But the homologation in Luxemburg is a hassle and expensive. Also tuning without certificate (Euro norm(E1), or Tüv) is very hard (for high tuning impossible) and expensive.
Personally I also prefer a bone stock car than a tuned one.

This will sound bad, but Uk imports are rarly in the same condition as the Japanese counterpart. There are 2 Jdm seller on the german - dutch border that sell nearly only UK imports. Their reputation is soooo bad.

The 2 R33 on SW look good and still stock (or near stock) but why aren't they expensive??
Am I missing something (still no Euro certificate?). I thought a Euro R33 would be around 15000-20000€ in good condition?

SW's rep is not bad, he goes there and take a good look before importing them to holland. but also keep in mind that he cant see everything and it IS a used car. but thats the same if a car comes from japan.

R33 GTST's are cheap over here nowadays. a good stock one is around 7.5-8k with license plates, rust protection etc all ready to go.

R33 GTR's 12 to 16,5k

my V-spec was 14k and no rust at all. even at the weak spots it still looks amazing. interiour is looking good, but not perfect.
(a spot on the rear seat, floor mat of a gtst, steering wheel has some wear, stock Japanese radio still there. everything working fine though)

72700km's when i bought it with full history and uk dyno printout. sure it did need some maintenance but hey its a car from 1995.

brand new twin plate clutch, cambelt, coilpacks, new tires and reconditioned gearbox were already done in the uk. cylinder leakage test looked very good aswell.

i let pro import check the engine from the inside.
turbo's still look very good with minimum of play, engine bearings is fine, cylinder heads look good too. no cracks or anything nasty was found.
it did had a ignition timing issue and needed a remap but thats solved now. (so its always a good thing to check the car by a specialist, especially if it has been modified. could have ended up bad if i didnt knew about it.)
because everything was taken apart on the inlet side to check the condition of the turbo's i let them replace the stock intake by one from greddy. the old filters needed replacement anyway:)

I somehow missed the "Nissan GT-R" part in SkylineObsession's post :ouch:

I agree with you the Nissan GT-R is not a Skyline, it has branched off and is completely different.

Not gonna discuss this anymore as its a never-ending discussion, but if Nissan/Renault wanted a 'supercar' then in my opinion they should have created an all new name for it and not used a model/name that existed already with another 'family' of cars (Skylines/ Skyline GT-R).

To put it simply (well, try to);

NISSAN (parent company) > SKYLINE (products include GT-R's and non GT-R's) > GT-R (then the GT-R breaks away and becomes a proper sub-model but still in the Skyline family, since the name came from something that existed already)

It shouldn't go;

NISSAN (parent company) > GT-R (because they are using the name from another of their brands it is not technically 'separate' from that brand, especially when similarities, to older Skylines at least, still exist)

Perhaps;

NISSAN (parent company) > Godzilla (would have worked, as its not an official name for the GT-R)
NISSAN (parent company) > *insert random name here* (would have worked, as that name doesn't exist)

Its hard to get my point across, but in my opinion (and hopefully i'm not alone) Nissan/Renault have really stuffed this up in trying to disassociate a well known product of a brand, from said brand. They shoulda just created a new name for it and dropped the GT-R name.

It is 4WD, just like three other Skyline GT-R's and three or more non GT-R's (R32, R33 GTS-4's, R34 GT-Four). It has round lights, just like the GT-R's and Skylines dating back to 1973 or further. It is a coupe, just like some other non GT-R's. Etc etc.

The GT-R evolved from the original 1960's Skyline, it was never not related to/based on the Skyline and still isn't to this day, despite what Nissan claim. Its just stupid.

To me, and likely others, it is a Skyline and always will be. :)

/end

P.S. Yes i do feel quite strongly about this, and i'm sorry for hijacking the topic.

As you say it can be a never ending discussion. You believe the Nissan GT-R is a Skyline and I don't, as it split away, this doesn't mean I like the GT-R any less or Skyline any less, they just split. Remember I am a Skyline owner so it's not as if I am trying to downplay Skyline in anyway.

Much like Toyota split the Supra from Celica (even continued the chassis code) doesn't mean it's still a Celica all those years later, it derived from a Celica but spawned a new model (Theory of evolution :P )

been to pro import today to see what was wrong.
seems that part of the timing problems was caused by the ecu itself. so it had to go. it will get replaced by a Haltech Platinum Pro Ecu:) other part of the problem was a pulley

lots of testing has been done, here you can see 2 ecu's, a Haltech Platinum Pro connected and the old black AEM EMS next to it.

somebody lost his turbo? brand new garret. and no its not mine. will be installed on a R32 drag thing...

I think i know who you mean, Japanese Imports or previously called Auto Appie. Yea, from what i heard is that they just import without checking the cars at all.

SW-performance is a really good company.

Nice R33 GT-R mate.

:)
R33GTRJIM428PS.jpg

428HP 482Nm on stock turbo's @ 1 bar boost on a Haltech Platinum Pro Ecu

they also made a vid of it and one of the launch control aswell:)

Yes Auto Appie. Hillarious stuff about it on the internet.

Gt4: Nice 👍

Sweet GT-R:drool:. You sir are a lucky man.

I would own one right now if they werent illegal :grumpy:. 10k can buy you a good one. Screw the government:yuck:.

The black one I eyed for is still in the auction. But I found another amazing one.
This could be it:
http://www.extreme-imports.be/

Japan 1st skyline R33 Vspec white.

If I take it, I gonna ask you soo much question ;) lol

Asked for more info already.

I also watched at SW-P but I need someone to get the homologation done. That is a hassle here. And Xtreme does it here, so it saves me a lot of time (and time is money, so also a lot of money).

Anything special I should ask about ??

I will ask for more photos (front strutbar fixation point, wheel arches, trunk under the carpet, fixation point from the front fenders, chassis, differentials) and ask to test the compression ratio.

Just got a reply to my first inquiry:

perfect condition, as in the ad, full service history, John will get the 2 mods installed passed the homologation (yeay). Homologation is 3000€ :nervous::nervous:, but alone a standalone homologation here is around 1200€, so with the translation of the papers (which comes for nearly another grant) and the required mods (lights), it should be fair. Asked for a possible discount anyway. Asking doesn't hurt (yet)
Asked for the above, getting an answer tomorrow probably.

If it's positive, I'm so gonna get this.

The balck one was sold already (site wasn't updated rofl)

So what's up with the skyline benelux? got any Luxemburgers in it already ;)?

Will have a great start for my car park : R33V-spec . Audi S3 8L (270ps)

4*4 FTW

Also sorry for threadnapping your thread.

Hey, the white one looks good. i got a better feeling of that car already.
dont worry about the threadnapping, as longs its about skylines im all ears:)

major + is the stock engine of the white one.

sure that isnt spectacular but you can now build it the way you like it.
be sure to feel under the side skirts aswell thats aslo a place for rust.

also if it aint got rust protection under the car yet, ask if you can see the car first, before he apply's the protection stuff. so you can see how the bottom of the car really looks like.

one of the first upgrades should be a good ECU. in japan they use high octane fuel (at least higher then you can get in holland, dunno how its like in luxemburg)
the stock ecu will compensate this but it wont run at his full potentional and you have chance to get "knock"

always tank the best premium fuel you can find and please dont add octane boosters cause most of them dont even work.

btw, you should join the skylineclub! even though the forum language is dutch you can ask questions etc. in english.

had some fun with the sky last night!:)
every friday night there is a meeting @ local fast food restaurant.
really the skylines that show up are actually the most serious tuned cars. cause its also filled with ricers and random crap (except for a S15 Spec R, RX-7 FD).

i was there when suddenly a White Pro Import R33 V-spec joined in. (Holset T90 Big Single turbo, screamer etc, 631hp) i dont know him too well yet but he is a nice guy.
the passenger was...Henk from Pro Import. yup, the man that mapped my ecu! and YES he DID had his laptop with him. lucky me!

as i still had some cold start issues we did some parkinglot ECU adjustments lol. runs great now, even when its cold and idling.

not too much later 2 R33 S2 GTS-T's joined in. a white one wich had a Bee*R Rev Limiter but pretty much stock.

the grey one however just had a big single turbokit installed with screamer pipe. its now running 460hp 515nm.

at the end of the meet we decided to do some tunneling nearby...
cant discribe the sound, but imagine:
Stock R33 GTST S2 with full sport exhaust , cat removed (the rest blown away) and a Bee*R Rev limiter set @ making very loud bangs:)
R33 GTST S2 with big single and screamer pipe, decat
R33 GTR V-spec Holset T90 big single with screamer
and me with my R33 GTR V-spec, full nismo 3" exhaust, greddy intake etc.
IN 1 Tunnel
at full throttle close together:sly::)

Priceless!👍
yup did had to refill the tank afterwards lol. 5L fuel left lol...

cant wait till next week:)

Nice your meeting.
Took any pictures? Always nice to see multiple Skylines in one place.

Could you give me the link to the skyline forum (and there is also always google translator, and I understand a bit of netherlands)

I looked yesterday a bit what is tuning parts exists and wow. So much...

Yesterday I replied to Johan (Belgium) about the white Skyline. And this morning Arthur (NL) already sold the car before Johan could reserve it for me.
That was so uncool.

But Johan will now look for one along my specification in Japan.

Here is what I asked to search for :
GTR33 (preferred V-Spec)
Near stock. (stainless exaust, quality coilovers, cusco and nismo mods don't bother me)
The exterior condition (shell) is more important than the interior, as long as it is repairable (I plan on either exchange the seats or refurbish them with leather).
Under 100 000km.
Well documented History. All maintaince intervalls must have been done. No previous big engine problems
Not accidented.
Engine must be in perfect conditon.
The better the overall condition the better, obviously ;)
Color is not important as long as not pink

Budget is 15000-18000€ with homologation. (could be slightly upgraded depending on the car)

Now I play the waiting game till I get news back.

With those Specs he should be able to find something nice I hope. Should I ask for something more?

Also what do you call/ mean with Antilag launch control?

For the modding on the engine : I only plan on ECU, intake and change some tubing with samco hoses, rev limiter, turbo timer and some smaller mods but expanded along a longer time.
Bigger Turbo, I would never pass Homologation (but they are stupid, have a friend who had a S3 with turbo mod from 225pd to 390ps. They didn't notice it!! Stupid he? :D)

No pics, but this vid will do i guess....:)
can hear and see my R33 after 1:10, white R33 GTST hits the Bee*R a few sec later.

http://www.youtube.com/user/gtrulez#p/a/f/0/n6YT8TCiiVM

and the Haltech Launch Control actually builds up boost instead of just loud bangs and no boost like the Bee*R does.
i hit 0,85 bar boost when using the launch control, to safe the tranny a bit it wont go up to 1 bar while using the lc.

What a sound. Tunnels for the win 👍

Eagerly waiting for an anwer from extreme import now

Edit 25/10 : Just to give you an update.
After a felt 100 email front and back. I cleared all the details:
Getting 3 months warrenty for free.
made a little deposit for the auction.
Should get the first proposals in a few days.
Was still hesitating a bit, looked here for a domestic one, visited a Z4M but was shaddy. So now, full throttle on the GTR 👍

My dream car, although illegal here. R33's are amazing, and 400hp on stock turbos is pretty cool. I love the clean look and wheels, can't go wrong!

maybe tomorrow i will make a start at freshing up/cleaning the engine bay and wiring a bit.

Very awesome car. :) I would so throw a set of snow tires on that bad boy and drive it all year round saving the others for summer use. :D That's me, though because I'm crazy. :sly: --- Randy

lil update here, made 2 pics of the gtr on a very wet vacation. last year.

also got a couple of new tires for it. it now has Toyo t1R's, seems to have alot more grip:)

especially in wet conditions

DSC_0050-kopie.jpg

DSC_0055-kopie-1.jpg

its sitting in a garage now all winter.
here they use salt to keep the roads free from ice/snow, its very nasty stuff for a car. i dont want a rusty gtr so its sitting dry and warm in a hall :)

gotta pick it up in a few days though, it needs MOT/APK
cant wait to drive in it again!:)

What tires had you on it before? What rim size do you have on it? 17"?
Really like the first shot.

Ohhh man I can't wait to take delivery of mine :embarrassed:

yesterday i delivered the car back at Pro Import Motorsports.

the boostmap will be fine tuned
they will try to reduce the turbo shuffing @ highway speeds.
the low voltage problem is going to be fixed.
it will get a brand new gel type of battery.
new APK/MOT
the wheels allignment will be adjusted.
and a few more small things.

when i was there the frontman of the Streetgasm club maurice was testing his R34 GTR V-spec. lately it got the big single turbo from the Pro Import R33 GTR demo car. and the same haltech ecu as mine. it still had a very safe map so he couldnt rev it higher then 5k rpm and "only" 0,9 bar boost.
the car still awaits a better clutch and a aftermarket oil pump. it already sounds wonderfull!
check a vid of it @ facebook:
http://www.facebook.com/home.php?closeTheater=1#!/photo.php?v=387722054586670

cant wait to hear it @ full boost with an open external wastegate.... :P :P

Preping your car for a new season ;)

The GTR34 sounds awesome sweet and gonna have some ridiculous output with that big single turbo.
What is he aiming at?
The R33 demo car from Pro import is a beast (yeay pro import XD)

that should give him around 650hp with the specs he got.
he had 435hp before the big single upgrade.

PI got 708hp out of that same turbo on their demo car. on normal pump fuel that is..:)

i've seen their new turbo....its even 2 steps bigger lol. should be good for 900-1000hp...just insane:)
