I already had the idea that various GT1 cars from the '97 and '98 iterations of the LM24 would go into Gr.2, such as the McLaren F1 GTR and Mercedes-Benz CLK-LM, respectively. Which would also likely mean that the Nissan R390 GT1 race car would also go into Gr.2, as would either version of the Porsche 911 GT1 race car. However, with an LMGTP car in the form of the Toyota GT-One (TS020) also going into Gr.2, I am now really curious as to what this means for similar cars of the late 90s/early 00s, such as the Bentley Speed 8 that won overall in 2003, or the BMW V12 LMR that won overall in 1999, especially since the latter wasn't part of the LMGTP class like the TS020 was. While we know that LMP1-class cars go into Gr.1, I still wonder where LMP1's predecessors would go, namely LMP900 and LMP.

At any rate, I am hoping that if we get a Group C-era Toyota, it'll be the TS010, as it'd fit right in with other early-90s racers like the Mazda 787B and the Nissan R92CP. Plus, it'd flesh out the "TS" line a bit more, though I'm perfectly fine with the omission of the TS040.

I also still hope that the remaining "Class One" DTM cars from Aston Martin, BMW, and Mercedes-AMG would still be coming to Gr.2, as would the 2024 GT500 trio.

Only reason why I could the Super GT500 are taking so long would be the Civic Type R. Maybe Honda didn’t want their FR NSX to be in the game and requested the Civic would be more suitable representation.

With GT-One in latest update, PD crossed out the one car I wished more to have!

Some other cars I would like to see (a lot of 90's nostalgia but that's when I was a kid reading magazines, watching races etc.):

Road Cars:
  • BMW M5 E39
  • BMW M5 E60
  • Ferrari F355
  • Ferrari 360 Modena
  • Ferrari 550 Maranello
  • MCC Smart (original)
  • Mercedes Benz CLK-GTR Road Car
  • Toyota MR-2 (~'00)
LeMans/Endurance Race Cars:
  • Audi R8 '00

  • Chevrolet Corvette C5-R
  • Dodge Viper GTS-R '99
  • Lister Storm GT1
  • Nissan R390 GT1 '98
  • Peugeot 905 LM
  • Porsche 911 GT1 '98

As for tracks:
  • Apricot Hill, all others are low-low-lower priority!

Nissan r390 road car 98
Nissan r390 lm 98
I would love this. This car is such a beauty 😍

My Korean car picks:

Hyundai Elantra N
Hyundai Veloster N
Hyundai Ioniq 5 N
Hyundai Tiburon (If only to show how far Hyundai has come.)

Genesis G80 (Maybe the Magma version? Especially if it gets a broader release outside the Middle East.)
Genesis X Gran Berlinetta VGT (Gr.1-spec)

Kia K4 (Or maybe its predecessor, the Forte GT? I do own a Forte GT-Line...)
Kia Stinger GT

As far as Hyundai goes, we also could use updated Gr.3/Gr.4 entries. Maybe the Elantra N TCR could qualify, or at least a made-for-game car that resembles it.
-Zenvo ST-1 '10
-Zagato Aster Coupe '72
-Ferrari 360 Challenge Stradale '03
-McLaren 720S Spider '20

I could go on but I'd love these cars to come into the next GT game. I'd also like new brands like Maybach and others to return like Lotus.
I disagree regarding Maybach, for the same reason I don't wanna see Rolls-Royce. I'd also much rather have a more "typical" version of the Ferrari 360 and McLaren 720S, too. The latter could even be skipped, with us instead getting the 720S and the 720S GT3 Evo. Finally, as far as Zagato goes, I wonder if we could get the new IsoRivolta GTZ from them?

There are currently two 80s-00s Mercedes / Mercedes AMG road car in the game. I think that is unfortunate.

Here are some candidates for inclusion:
1980 Mercedes Benz 450SLC 5.0 (rally spec)
1993 Mercedes Benz 500E (if you don't know, you really should.)
1995 Mercedes Benz 500SL (the V12 and/or AMG cars are the unicorns of the range, but the M119-powered 500 SL I think is the right one to include)
2003 Mercedes AMG CL65
2003 Mercedes AMG SL55
2005 Mercedes AMG E55
2007 Mercedes AMG SLK55
2008 Mercedes AMG CLK63 Black Series

A caveat to this, which would be pretty critical to the character of ALL of these cars (and the 2008 SLR) is that I think GT7 needs a proper simulation of torque converter planetary style automatic gearboxes. I could have sworn GT5 had this, because I seem to remember the SL55 in that game having slurred shifts. While the newer planetary autos can nearly mimic the rapidness of a DCT, all of the above are nowhere near that.

Just a quick add of the i20N because I’m seeing these little bad boys everywhere with P plates:

New Cars

Toyota TS010 '93
1712443778697.png

The Toyota TS010 was Toyota's first attempt to crack Le Mans, and this chassis was built specifically for the race in 1993. The car scraped second place to the Peugeot 905, an impressive yet frustrating result repeated by the GT-ONE just a few years later.

Why should this be in the game?

For obvious reasons, GT has always had a focus on Japanese cars yet this one has suprisingly never appeared in any Gran Turismo game. It represents the later era of Group C post-1992 rule change, and so far, no cars adhering to this formula have appeared in GT7.

Toyota 88C-V '88
1712444187242.png

The Toyota 88C-V was not as successful as the company's later efforts, but still an important stepping stone. Dogged by mechanical problems, it at least looked incredibly cool when it actually worked.

Why should this be in the game?
Nostalgia. Plus - just look at it. Somehow not even Jaguar could make a Group C car as pretty as the 88C-V.

Nissan R89C '89
1712444526076.png

This Nissan Group C car did actually participate in Le Mans, albeit ran by a privateer team. Resplendent in a fantastically 80's paint job, it was considerably more successful in the JSPC.

Why should this be in the game?

Nostalgia again, dammit.

New Tracks
Special Stage Route 7
1712445000412.png

One thing I feel like this game genuinely needs more of, is really fast, high speed tracks. I'm not always in the mood for twisty tight technical corners - sometimes I just wanna floor it and go as fast as possible. In GT7 you can only really do that at Daytona, High Speed Ring, and the terminally boring Route X.

The scenery on SSR7 was a little plain in GT5 and 6, so it could benefit from a revamp. I would set the track in an industrial district, with the lights of harbour cranes and oil refineries glowing in the night. I like my racing to be atmospheric!

Location-wise, maybe put it somewhere vaguely on the North East seaboard of the US, since California and Japan get all the love in this game.

Fuji Speedway 80's
1712445597825.png

For the first time in GT7, let's have a track actually set in the past. This layout of Fuji saw many famous, iconic races featuring some of the game's most beloved cars. I know this layout was featured in GT4, but let's go all in this time - period advertising (within reason, no tobacco obviously!) period fashions on the specatators and race crews, period static vehicles like ambulances etc. Make it genuinely immersive.

New Races/Menu Book

Group C Championship - 10 laps of Fuji Speedway 80's, 450,000cr reward.

Group C Championship - 10 laps of Le Mans No Chicanes, 550,000cr reward.

Group C Championship - 8 laps of Special Stage Route 7, 750,000cr reward.

These races would include purely the Group C cars, the five already in the game and the three listed above. To avoid repetition, cars would run in the race carrying custom faux-sponsored liveries like the cars in the Super Formula races do.

New Car Menus

Toyota Motorsport Legends --Toyota 88C-V, Toyota TS010, Toyota TS020 GT-ONE. Rewards Toyota GR010 '21.

QoL Updates

- Invitations are removed

- Tickets no longer reward parts

- Tickets no longer reward cash prizes less than 100,000cr

- Tyres and tunes can be set for in-garage custom race opponents

That's all folks!

We appear to be reaching a point at which the thread is now sufficiently long that even though it's the first post and the default one you're taken to if entering the thread for the first time, the first post with the ground rules of the thread is too far away for people to heed. So...
Firstly, bear in mind GTPlanet's FAQ: our rules "remind everyone to put a little more thought into what they’re contributing to the community. In turn, this creates a more pleasant and attractive place for everyone."

We'd like to see things into which some thought has gone, so please don't make excessive lists. If you're posting every Ford Fiesta ever made, every track in France, or a list of 1800 cars/250 tracks, or cars already in the game, you're not really doing that. Please keep your posts to a reasonable length; think about things you'd really want, if someone was holding you at knifepoint for a quick answer.

GTPlanet has an extensive Suggestions forum area.

You can use this for some guidance if you like, but it would also be a great idea to upvote anything you post in here over there too; there is some good evidence that the higher up those lists a car/track is, the more likely it is to get some priority attention from PD.

There is no requirement to not select something that someone else has already selected. It's not reasonable to expect every response to be unique.

However there is a requirement not to crap on other people's selections and preferences. People may post whatever they like in their choices (per the above). If you don't like it, tough: it's not your wishlist.

Have fun - and don't be the person who spoils it for everyone...
We've had several attempted posts with over a hundred cars just stuffed in there (one with over 400), and that's not meeting the "reasonable length" criterion. I can't help but notice the users haven't also voted on the 100+ cars they've selected in the Suggestions/Cars forum either...

Please keep this all in mind for your contributions.

Fuji Speedway 80's

Looks a lot like high speed ring
that's not a coincidence :D

that's not a coincidence :D
It is true that they're similar, although I'd still want 80's Fuji mostly for the scenery.

OG Grand Valley reminds me of Autopolis too, especially the final sector with the curved spectator stands.

Now you've suggested it though, I might use HSR Reversed as a sort of 80's Fuji substitute...

Now for what I'd put in update 1.47...

Bugatti EB110 Super Sport '94
1712667593726.png

Part of the late 80s/early 90s supercar boom, the Bugatti EB110 debuted in 1991. The design was orginally penned by Marcello Gandini, but this was considered too radical and triggered a last minute redesign. The result is a rather brutish looking supercar, perhaps not traditionally beautiful but certainly impressive.

Why should this be in the game?
The EB110 is a missing link in the Bugatti story, the first "modern" Bugatti albeit not produced by the current company. It has featured in few racing games so an appearance in GT7 would be most welcome.

Cizeta V16T '91
1712667951561.png

Produced by a consortium of ex-Lamborghini employees, the Cizeta V16T was part funded by synthpop composer Giorgio Moroder.

Why should this be in the game?
The V16T is about the purest expression of the late Marcello Gandini's design philosophy, this design being originally intended for the Lamborghini Diablo. It would make a wonderful tribute, as well as returning a car to the franchise that has appeared in Gran Turismo games since GT4.

Vector W8 '89
1712668347153.png

As you can tell, I love the 80s, and this might be the most outrageously 80s car ever designed. It looks like a spaceship on wheels - all the design tropes of late 20th century science fiction stuffed in a car. I mean, imaging how the interior would look in VR:

1712668618883.png

Why should this be in the game?
There's no logic here. Honestly, the W8 was a complete disaster and a mechanical nightmare. I just like the idea of it. Plus, Vectors have appeared in the game before - in the form of the Diablo-based M12 of the later 1990s.

Chevrolet Corvette (C5) '00
1712668782155.png

The fifth generation Corvette launched in 1997 and was notably one of the last cars to sport pop up headlights. In racing trim, it scored victories at Le Mans and Daytona.

Why should this be in the game?
Obviously, the C5 would complete the Corvette family tree in GT7. It was a premium model in GT5 and 6 so I'm not sure it would be difficult to add.

Tyrell 6-wheel F1 car from 1970s .

Come to think of it, there was a 6-wheel road car in the early 70s called the Panther. From memory it had a hulking great twin-turbo V8 :-)

The Mitsubishi Minicab. I actually saw one at work today same color as this 😃

I have a feeling we'll get these eventually within GT7's lifetime, or potentially even GT8.

Bugatti EB110 Super Sport '92

To be sold in Legend Cars.

Following Bugatti's Italian ownership from the 1980s, the EB110 is the first new model from the revered French manufacturer in over 50 years.

Before the likes of contemporary Bugattis such as the Veyron and Chiron, there was the EB110, the first new production model from Bugatti since the last Type 57 from 1940 rolled off the production line.

During this time, Bugatti had been bought by an Italian consortium in 1987, headed by Romano Artioli, best known for his ownership of Lotus. The end result was the creation of an Italian-produced French automobile engineered and designed by big names in the automotive industry, with the late Marcello Gandini responsible for one of the earliest prototype designs of the car.

Four years later, after many revisions to the car's styling, the EB110 was born, and its name comes from what would've been Ettore Bugatti's 110th birthday during the unveiling of the car. Featuring exotic flair such as a carbon fibre body and Gandini's auteur of scissor doors, it was very clear that the goals of the EB110 was to compete with the top supercars at the time, and was marketed as one of the most advanced supercars yet.

First debuting as the EB110 GT, the car was powered by a 3.5-litre V-12 engine with four turbochargers producing 553hp. Most cars would resort to a maximum of two turbochargers, as a quad-turbocharged engine was still unheard of at the time. It came paired with all-wheel drive mated to a six-speed manual transmission, allowing the EB110 to accelerate rather quickly with a 0-60 time of 3.46 seconds and a top speed of 342km/h, despite its hefty 1,620kg curb weight.

However, the most iconic model of the EB110 would have to be the Super Sport which debuted a year later, featuring 50 more horsepower, now at 603hp, a fixed rear wing, double wishbone suspension, and a strict diet of 202kg, now resulting in 1,418kg. This weight reduction was attributed to the use of even more carbon fibre parts in both the interior and exterior, further increasing its overall performance.

The end result was a 0-60 time of 3.26 seconds and a top speed of 355km/h, making it among one of the fastest production cars in the world at the time.

The EB110 Super Sport was also famously owned by Michael Schumacher at one point, featuring a special yellow color scheme, which he owned from 1994 until 2003. Only 139 units of the EB110 were ever produced, and was the only production car under Bugatti's Italian ownership before they were purchased by Volkswagen and returned back to their native France.

As a result, the EB110 has left a lasting legacy on Bugatti's contemporary history, later seen with the Veyron and Chiron, and the limited-edition Centodieci, which debuted in 2021, would serve as a tribute to this very special car.

maserati_mc12_25.jpg

Maserati MC12 '04

To be sold in Brand Central.

As a cousin to the Ferrari Enzo, the Maserati MC12 was a homologation-based supercar for FIA GT1 racing to symbolize Maserati's return to top-level motorsports.

When it came to motorsport, Maserati have been a well-respected name even as far as the pre-war Grand Prix days with the 8CTF, and in the 1950s with the 250F Formula One car and 300 S which competed at Le Mans.

However, since the late 1960s, Maserati have not entered any major racing competitions, and hoped to change that with the MC12 (Maserati Corse - 12 cylinder) road-going supercar, using the Ferrari Enzo Ferrari as the foundation and basis for its design.

The 6.0-litre V-12 has been detuned somewhat to produce 621hp and was considerably heavier, taller and wider than the Enzo, weighing in at 1,500kg. It also retained the same six-speed paddle-shift transmission as well, and featured a racing-derived double wishbone suspension. The MC12 also featured a detachable top, akin to similar supercars such as the Porsche Carrera GT and Koenigsegg CC series, although it is not possible to stow the roof on the trunk of the car.

Being a homologation special, for, in particular, FIA GT1 racing, 50 road-going examples were made, and this is among the most Spartan supercars ever created, eschewing luxury and practicality for all-round functionality.

The FIA GT1 racing version was not very different to the road car as its engine output remained unchanged, save for revised exhaust and ECU changes, although it did achieve considerable success in the FIA GT series, and much later, the FIA GT1 World Championship, scoring a number of teams', constructors and drivers' championships along the way.

A track-only version known as the "Versione Corse" was later introduced in mid-2006 featuring similar aerodynamics to the GT1 version, and a de-restricted engine producing 740hp, intended to be their equivalent of the Ferrari FXX. Unlike the XX program, which was solely for research and development, the MC12 Versione Corse was purely for leisure and entertainment.

And lastly, the return of the Saleen S7.
