All the information you need to create a good tune is in this forum. There is a wealth of knowledge at your fingertips. It's not that anything is secret. It just gets frustrating putting hours of work into a tune and then someone just asking for you to give it to them. Even more so when the information you need to create your own is all contained in this forum. Why is it that people come on here asking for a good tune when they obviously don't put forth the effort to even use the search function or even read the stickies. I see this time and time again. And when someone gives you a starting point or info to help you tune one on your own you get mad that it isn't there top tune. There are several threads by respected tuners of full tunes for you to build on, and even more pertaining to tuning in general. There are plenty of people here that are more than willing to lend a hand, especially to someone trying to learn for themselves. So stop crying and do work. If you can't provide for yourself, why should we?

These are tunes from some of the best in the game such as GME, DLR, Slashfan, and Team Rapid among others. I am not going to post every tune or tune shop that exists in this thread. I'm just trying to make people aware of the amount of information contained in this forum. The information you need is out there, all you have to do is look for it.

And here is an excellent guide to drag tuning in general. It is an extensive guide to drag tuning created by Dr. Slump and covers the essentials of drag tuning.

As I stated earlier, I'm not going to sift through this forum to post a link to every thread that contains helpful information. There are many good threads with contributions by many good tuners. I am simply trying to spread awareness that there is useful information in this forum far all who seek it. You'll be better served if you seek this knowledge before posting threads asking for help. There are many good people here to point you in the right direction, but nobody will spoonfeed you the information you seek.

There is much, much more information within this forum. You just need to make an effort to find it. People wouldn't be such asses toward you if you put forth the effort to begin with and then came for help.👍

There is an old saying that if you give a man a fish, he eats for today. But if you teach a man to fish he eats for a lifetime. The point of this being that even if you were given a top tune, it wouldn't be competitive long. People are always going to find a way to be faster. Then you'll be right back here asking for another handout. If you put the effort into learning to tune yourself, you can be part of the group that is moving forward instead of being left behind.

Thanks, I'll rename it then. It started out as a rant. I don't know what made me decide to put all the links there but thats what it ended up as lol. I still dont think it will reach its intended audience. They'll just continue making threads like "I need a good tune for my (insert car here)." And they'll continue to get mad when nobody wants to help. Then the trolls will come out and give us a hard time for not wanting to give out our tunes. You know how it is. But I'll work on it more when I get back.👍

Changed the title:tup: Hopefully this will help cut down on some unnecessary threads and help people out at the same time.

To all those not listed in my post containing tunes-please take no offense as the purpose of this thread is not to list every tune in this forum. It's purpose is to get people to utilise the information already contained in this forum. Feel free to post links to your tunes/garages if you wish. Or to anything you feel will be of use to those looking to get started tuning or for those who may be stuck at a point with their current tunes.👍

One of the mods will do it for you if they believe it should be :) and I don't really know why my phone decided to put "omit" in my last post.. So just skip over that part 👍
 
Although a sticky would cut down on the “gimme the best most secret tune now” posts, half the mods have a petition running to close down the drag forum (I guess some didn’t even want it opened in the first place ;)) so probably best to pm Jordan himself :)

On second thoughts, I’m not sure a sticky would be the best way to go… loads of people avoid the current ones. Maybe we could just add to the thread regularly? ;)
 
I've been waiting for someone to make a thread like this...Sticky! Those aren't even my best tunes lol.

Where on earth did you hear that? I suppose you're getting your own site's staff's ideas for this section of GTP mixed up with our own. Need I remind you:

  • You will not knowingly post any material that is false, misleading, or inaccurate.

On second thoughts, I’m not sure a sticky would be the best way to go… loads of people avoid the current ones. Maybe we could just add to the thread regularly? ;)

It's unfortunate that stickies don't get the attention they deserve, in any sub-forum. An active thread though, such as this, will hopefully cut down on the request threads, at the very least, because of the giant "Free" sign.
 
Thanks guys. But I have to agree with fest0r and SlipZtrEm, I don't think that making this sticky would make it any more viewed than the title alone would. I think it would be just as effective to keep the thread alive by posting regularly. Maybe even a tip of the day type thing so it doesn't just turn into a spamfest and get closed by the mods. From the amount of irrelevant content in this sub-forum it wouldn't surprise me if the mods did want to shut it down. I quit posting here myself for about a month because of all the middle school bs. I'm all for joking around a bit and talking smack, but some of the threads/posts were just a waste of space.

I received the information from one of your colleagues and certainly didn’t knowingly think it was false, misleading, or inaccurate. Maybe I shouldn’t have called it a petition… would complaints/requests in the moderator forum be more accurate?

Again, I must say this was second hand information so if it’s not correct then I apologise and completely withdraw it 👍

Not sure if I understand your accusation though. Are you suggesting I want this section closed down? I have recently bought a number of the main contributors to this section a premium subscription for their effort… I can assure you it’s the last thing I want. Additionally, I have a company with employees, but it has nothing to do with GT… or are you implicating the other drag racing website I belong to?
