Can You Build a Burger in a 600hp Rallycross Car?

One of the most famous motoring legends is Carroll Shelby’s $100 bill challenge. According to the tales, Shelby would place the bill in the glovebox of a 427 Cobra. Any passenger who could grab the bill under acceleration could keep it, but no-one ever could.

Now imagine if instead of a C-Note it was a tasty burger. But you had to make it yourself. In the passenger seat of a 600 hp World Rallycross spec Ford Fiesta.

To help promote the SpeedMachine festival at Silverstone in May of 2018, DJ BBQ teamed up with Andrew Coley for a burger challenge. Viewers might recognize Andrew as the commentator for the World Rallycross. He’s no stranger to rallying cars though having competed extensively back in the 90s. DJ BBQ, whose real name is Christian Stevenson, is a celebrity chef on Jamie Oliver’s Food Tube.

The challenge consisted of DJ BBQ building two gourmet burgers while Coley lapped Silverstone. Between the 1.9 second 0-60 sprint of the Fiesta and a few jumps, this might be the most exciting burger ever made.

For those interested in SpeedMachine, tickets are on sale now for the May 25-27 event. The three-day affair takes place at Silverstone and consists of food, music, and fast cars.
