I placed my preorder yesterday, and now I am waiting for Tuesday morning to come! Hopefully they will be giving out the copies when they open at 10am, since I'm going there on my second period lunch (I always knew it would come in handy at some point!).

I can't wait!
 
ahhh so no one knows or have heard that stores will release it today if they have it anyways?
I know Doom 3 did. I got my Doom 3 a day before the release date.
Best Buy got it, put it all on shelves ^_^
 
oh ****! I just called best buy and they said they have it for pre-orders but, first come first serve can also get it since they got two seperate shipments, one for pre-orders and one for non-pre-orders!!!

I am going now!

I am in Texas, not sure where you are but maybe different.
I know it all depends on who gets it then up to manager if they want to put it out or wait for release date.

Like I said, that is how I got doom 3. I heard that BB where I live will have it out before release date so once they get, boom! so I went in and got it 10am in the morning for doom 3 then. I just called now and they said they got so I am going in a few mins to hopefully get one and that the guy I talked to isn't BSing!

Well I am in anth 1001 class right now, but its my last class and I pass BB on the way home. I'll stop by and see if they've got them in.
 
Im PAL so wait is a little longer. But man run to the store now if they say they have it !! And keep us posted.

I use to work in the media department (CD's games DVD's) at BB and I know all the people who work in that area. I might be able to convince them to sell me a copy later on today, maybe at close. That is if its not already out...
 
I seriously doubt that ANYONE will be playing this game today. I just called Best Buy, Gamestop, and EBs in my area and none of them have it. Gamestop and both EBs are receiving it Tuesday afternoon.

I do hope that someone in the U.S. proves me wrong though.
 
Well I do hope it's mid-day, other wise i may stay up till midnight to go in the local super store and grab it as they stock. I do love 24 houre super stores.

You should read some of this thread.. the west-coast, midwest, east-coast Best Buy ad in the Sunday paper said - WEDNESDAY 23. BestBuy.com says the same thing.
 
Well, I have called BB twice now today, I got the same girl on the line telling me "it's supposed to be from the 23rd to the 25th". I'll keep trying and hope that I get a different employee.
 
still waiting..............................only 2,5 weeks to go until the EU version is released...........while the rest of the world isn't doing anything else but playing gt4 at the moment :dunce:

Not sure yet, might pre-order at gamestop today, one said they will have it tomorrow but only for preorders, but another GS I called just said 'tommorow', nothing about preordering.
So I'll probably just try the second GS tomorrow morning and if they dont have it, then hit all the other stores in the area, hopefully i'll find it somewhere. None of the stores I called have it in today, for non-preorders at least -kicks self-.

No, but very close. Kinda like the day before you go to disneyworld(I've never been). You're all excited but not quite sure what to expect.:cool:
 
I hope I get my copy tommorow...I pre-ordered overnight from EB. They JUST charged my credit card, I wonder if that means it shipped? I guess I'll find out tommorow.

You know, call me a loser, but I am more excited for this release than I was for christmas eve...

I am also going tomorrow to buy a stand i seen from the " cheap alternative cockpits" thread...its a flip top sadjustable stand from home depot...cannot wait to try that baby out ! 👍 👍 👍
 
Just talked to a manager at BB, he said that there is no street date for GT4, so stores can start selling it the second they get it in stock. A truck had arrived rigth when I got there so I waited about 30 min while they looked through the boxes. No GT4, but the manager said to expect it sometime today, latest tomorrow morning when they open up.
 
Am I wrong or is Sony confused about the difference between a ship date and a release date? It just seems this could have been handled better. As in the way almost all other releases are handled, with the product arriving quietly a few days early and stores waiting for the street date. It's so annoying to have to deal with the misinformation and confusion of availability. On a brighter note, at least some will get it as soon as is physically possible, and the game will rock. That is all.

There is no street date for GT4, once a store gets it in, they can throw it on the shelf like 2 min later.

The BB that I pre-ordered from has 124 being shipped to them, and will be getting it lastest tomorrow morning before they open.
 
Yeah, you would think for a release this big they would have gotten thier copies several days before release. Like when GTA:SA was released, I didn't bother to preorder and easily got a copy at Best Buy after school. You would think with such an anticipated release like GT4 they would have plenty of copies plenty early...
