Wow. That was easily the best race of the year. Everyone was really getting into it at the start and once things settled down Kimi and Alonso did sooo well.

Alonso around Schumi at 130R – total commitment 👍

Kimi taking the lead on the last lap was just amazing. This race really showed the drivers who have pace and I hope it’s a sign of things to come!

Well done Kimi, easily the best win of his career. :sly:

I dont think i will be taping over this race for a long time. What a race by kimi i didnt think that he was going to get it but that move was fantastic! next round then it looks like it is going to have to be a Mclaren one two or one of the renaults retire. First time in a while since the constructors has gone down to the wire.

Well done kimi, that was your best race ever, but i hope there is still better to come!

I can't believe they made Alonso go behind Klien again! He had to do it twice! What the hell is up with that! Stupid Klien. He was in his way for more than two whole laps. Idiot.

In my opinion that was quite obvious:

Alonso brakes too late, he got Klien and he had to give that away. That's good, but it's wrong when you capture Klien again on the same straight. That is unfair imo, since Alonso couldn't be there if he braked too late. If you use your brakes too late you lose tenths of a second and he didn't do that there.

So my conclusion is that Alonso made a wrong move and it was the right thing when he slowed down for the second time to let Klien pass.

I saw this kind of behaviour in Monaco as well. Alonso kept braking too late in order to maintain his position.

Btw, 'Klien was in his way for more than two whole laps'? That's not Klien's fault right? Klien is defending his position, which is completely fair and not idiotic like you described it.

Anyway, yeah this was a great race, Alonso made a fantastic move against Schumacher and Kimi was great as well with his final action.

Sato has been dq'd for running into Trulli and Villeneuve has been docked 25 seconds off his race time for forcing Montoya off the road.

Good. As Trulli said, Sato has been doing this sort of thing for far too long.

I think Mark Webber (and especially his pit-crew) did an excellent job today and are well deserving of their 5 points 👍

yeah, definately, what a slick stop under pressure. Iif I was the Williams crew after that i would have been donig the cry baby mime towards Button, you know the one where you pretend to rub your eyes wihle having a sook.

I'm surprised Sato is still driving. It's a patriotic thing, having a Japanese driver in a Japanese car, but he's been so far off his game this season, it's not funny.

Amazing AMAZING RACE!!!! Probably the best of the season, and we have had some great races this season! That opening lap was intense. Kimi's drive was stunning and his last lap past on Fisi was stuff of legend. Alonso drove amazingly too, that pass on Schumi on the outside of 130r was ballsy! That Schumi/Alonso/Kimi train was great to watch too.

If you would have asked me a few years ago to compare Kimi/Alonso to Prost/Senna and who would be who I definately would not have said Alonso would be the calm and calculating driver while Kimi is the stunningly commited and emotional driver.

Great race....GREAT RACE!

Jenson....ummm, you suck. This was about as good as it gets for you and you could do nothing. In fact you couldn't get around "the guy that can't win races" (Webber) in the friggin Williams. Not that the BAR is much of anything this seaosn but it should be better than the Williams. You aren't a champion. You aren't even remotely in the same league as Kimi/Alonsa. You can't evenw in a race when it is all but handed to you. Nice!

Ralf....poor you. You never had a realistic chance to win, ever. But you could have podiumed if it wasn't for your team dropping the ball yet again. Now we see the car's pace wasn't real due to the three stopper...but if Toyota had been able to adapt strategy in the race (which they never could) 2nd or more likely 3rd was in your grasp. I like Toyota, I was split as I wanted to see them do well but would prefer it to be Trulli....but they need to learn how to manage a race as a team. The new car does look smoother though. I think they are in good shape for next season. I can't wait.

Trulli...it was the helmet dude! Sorry you had such a bad weekend. It was fitting Sato-san took you out.

Sato...come on. Learn to drive. Once was funny. Two times is pathetic.

Pizonna...hahahaha. Pathetic.

JV....ummm, Granted JPM's move wasn't the best advised....but still, you are little more than a moving chicane out there on the circuit.

JPM...I love ya, but damn...hahaha. There is being commited and there is being insane!

Schumi.....nice drive. Can't wait to see you have a decent car again.

Did I say it was a great race! What a great race!

BTW guys - My dropping Toyota this weekend gamble in my Fantasy F1 paid out well. I jumped 7 spots to 20th (out of 6400). I don't know how but I'm happy!

Yea, same here. I was actually impressed by Webber that he got around Button at the pits, and he just kept a good pace IMO. Very well deserved points right there.

As for Button, I think he got overexcited or something. I don't know what he was thinking. I was hoping for Fisi to drop out of the race or something, and then have a like a 1. Button, and Kimi + Alonso fight for 2nd. The way it turned out was even better, I mean we saw a GOOD amount of action, which hasn't been as often in other races this year. Anyway, Button just threw his chances away in my opinion.

That Schumi/Alonso/Kimi train was great to watch too.
Totally man. Haven't seen good stuff like that in a long time me thinks.

well webber almost forced him off the road. the only good thing about that pass was that he didnt wreck. that pass on ms was very good though.

why does jv only get 25 seconds? i guess having been handed a championship makes you immune to commen sense. sato should not have been booted.

Wow. What a race! One of the best ive seen. I didnt think i was going to say this but the 2005 rule changes have made F1 more exciting. If it carrys on like this we wont have to worry about A1 competition.
I wouldnt want to be in Sato's shoes right now.... :nervous:

If there are more F1 races like this, I wont need to watch A1. Still, the commentators were having a god-awful number of cracks at it. I wouldn't be so smug... not many F1 races are this good.

That was such a great race!! Full of everything, overtaking, defensive driving, contriversey, accidents, surprises, jesus... it was awesome!!

Alonso must have the biggest balls out there for trying to overtake someone on the OUTSIDE of 130R and I have not even mentioned that the 'somebody' was none other than Micheal Schumacher.. That was an amazing move has to be overtake of the season. 👍

Kimi kimi kimi, how amazing is this bloke!? He ripped through the grid like wire through butter, he was untouchable, truly amazing. When he took Fisi on the last lap, I was actually applauding him, he truly worked for that and has to be his best race win, ever. 👍 He even got Ron Dennis emotional after the race!

Webber drove his race of the season in my view, he done really really well to get the Williams up to 4th, and beating Button must have been sweet for Sir Frank. :sly:

Button!? :grumpy: What happened out there!?? You can't blame the areo package for the 18th time this season!!! Get your ass moving!! It was handed to you on a plate today! Honestly, it was a wasted opportunity that i think alot of drivers could have taken advantage of, lets hope GP No.100 fairs better next weekend..

Now Sato, he is really starting to remind me of a WW2 kamikaze pilot, there was no way that move would pull off, its was a disaster from the moment off, and Trulli is right to be p****ed off. The first lap wern't much better, how about you try slowing down next time? (That was a bit of skill on Rueben's account though to give him the shock of his life...👍:)

JV i feel was wrongly treated, it was racing accident, JPM tried for the outside line, JV moved in to block, JPm ran on to the grass and ka-put a two wheeled wagon, I don't see how that results in a 25 second penalty..

This was though, a grand prix I will be remembering for a long long time, and like DC said after the race, why can't we have back to front grids?? :)

When you can get Ron to smile and and applaud you at the podium, you know you've done something amazing.
This race is going to go down as one of Kimi's best.

I agree. Just because JBM felt it nescesary to take stupid chances in the first lap (especially since JPM would have gone by JV by the end of the straight anyways) doesn't mean they should screw JV over for not allowing it to take both ot them out in the process (which I could see it doing if JPM pulled back into the racing line and JV didn't see him). Besides, there is a good chance that JV didn't even see him, as JPM came up very fast on him before pulling outside.

Oh come on, are you serious? He’s been doing stuff like that for far too long. He is far too agressive.

JV, he said he couldn’t see JPM and I’m inclined to believe him. But Sato, that was just a move that would never ever work – driving like that belongs back in F3.

It's not even a question of aggression with Sato. JPM is aggressive. Kimi is aggressive. Alonso was aggressive today. Sato's problem is a complete and utter lack of sense. He just chucks the car in with out any thinking of what (will) happen. Trulli summed it up best with the following quote...

"When I saw him in the mirror I knew I was doomed because I knew he would do it. And he did!

"It is not only me who thinks this. There are lots of drivers who agree with me. He is just not clever."

Holy mother of crap! That race was awesome! Great driving from Kimi, from last to 1st. That MP4-20 is so fast. Webber finished better than usual. Schuey in the points, as usual. And Renault takes 2nd and 3rd. Now they lead McLaren by two points.

We definitely need more back-to-front grids in F1.
(Now I have an idea for qualifying next year. We can have the same format as it is now, but the final grid will be reversed.)

i said sato should not have been booted because that jackass in the sauber wasnt booted. did you even see the replay bee? he gave no room what so ever. he forced jpm off the road. a 25 second penalty is bull****. he should have booted to.

a reversed grid would never work in f1. we saw this when they used the first session to set positions for the nest session. people were going slow in the first to get near the back for the actual qualifying. i liked the combination of two times of different days a lot. the differece is the temp and possibly the weather was great.

I can't beleive I'm about to do this....but.

JV's incedent was nothing like Sato's. JPM tried to pass on the outside in a spot that no one would expec thim to try to pass. Chances are that JV didn't even know he was there. JV is little more than a moving chicane out there but in this case I can't blame the guy, not fully. JPM should have known better. Even if JV did see him JPM should know that JV is one that gives others little quarter as far as passing goes. What makes it even more dumb on JPM's part is that he would have taken JV easily into Turn 1. No one ever has claimed JPM is patient...thats why I love the guy though.

Sato on the other hand just plowed into Trulli like he was driving a bulldozer. Watch the reply and Sato didn't even attempt to turn out of Trulli. He just speared him. Sato didn't even have a line or anything. He literally just speared Trulli. I don't think (hope) Sato did it wanting to harm Trulli...he just does these things out of a shear lack of any common sense it seems. Plus this isn't the first time Sato did something like this, he has a long track rcord of doing this and did it to schumi 2 races back. Sato needs to sit out a few races and think about what he is doing. Like Trulli said he seems like a nice guy but behind the wheel he looses it.

My wife calls him "Banzai-san" which fits. In fact she said that her friends back in Japan that follow F1 call him the same. They all love him but consider him a crazy behind a wheel....

i highly doubt jmp would have had him at the end of the straight. he blocks just as bad as webber does if not worse. i think jpm was trying to pass there maybe because he didnt think he would see him and be able to pull it off fast and easy like alonso did in the 130R or he was thinking he would see him and not be able to block because either he would see what would happen or it would be to late.

Dude, JPM was trying to pass JV in the grass, even before he got punted into the wall. Going into the chincane was chaos as cas were everywhere. You have 6 fast cars in the back of the field trying to get past the backenders. It looked like JV stayed wide, trying to avoid what was going on on the inside while not thinking anyone was going to try to pass him on the outside in the grass.

You doubt JPm would of had JV into the straight? Why? Didn't ALonso and Kimi illustrate how well their cars towed behind another on that straight to make a move into turn one? If JPM would have stayed tucked under JV's rear end ther eis no doubt he would of had in by turn one. The McLaren was a solid 2-3 seconds faster today than the Sauber. Yes JV is hard to pass, but in this case he would of had no choice.

the honda is faster then the williams but button couldnt pass webber doing that. kimi and alonso are way different people then jpm and jv. sure they could do it but jv wouldnt let it happen just like webber wouldnt let it happen.

True. Maybe it’s just me, but I’ve noticed he seems to aim for the red cars (Ferrari, Toyota), maybe it’s some bull complex… :dopey:

And pSI, JV will try to hold his ground, but honestly, he doesn’t have the widest car in F1 and JPM can be quite persuesive. But I don’t even know why we’re having this arguement, JPM tried an idiotic move on the outside of JV in an area where he wouldn’t even be looking in his mirrors. Maybe JV should have been more aware on the first lap, but honestly JPM should have calmed down a bit and thought before he stuck his car in there.

Blake

i'm not saying it was a smart thing to do. i would certainly be very scared trying to pass jv and would not have done it. this is why i'm not paid to drive anything. i hate to think of how jv must drive on the freeway though. knocking minvans full of familys off the road and such. if he doesnt have the widest car in f1 he certainly is very close to it.

It isn't just a matter of the car being faster. Button ain't much of a driver nor can he pass to save his life...and I will admit Webber is one hard mother to pass too boot. Plus if the BAR did have an advantage this race over the Williams (debatable) it was only a few tenths...not seconds like the McMerc of the Sauber....

JPM isn't Button. JPM is a great driver. JPM knows how to pass. JPM has good race craft. JPM has won races.....

Comparing JB/BAR to JPM/McMerc is like comparing an apple to an orange....you can't

i wasnt compairing them i was just saying it was the same. the car in back was better but still couldnt pull it off. jensen isnt as bad as you say though. giving a good car he does good. see turkey for my example.
