yea but the finish line was soooo close, he could have been in front of Trulli and Monteiro if he just went those extra 100m...
His engine wasn't sounding right. Even the annouchers noted it, and suggested it was the traction control limiting the engine. But, I guess it was more than that. More engine troubles for McMerc?

  Monteiro beached his car.....On his out-lap!!

watching quali right now 👍

So did Pizzonia. Well...not as bad, but still.

DC's warm-up spray was MUCH more dramatic than that pic of Kimi's. He was the first one out, you know.

So, four and a half hours to the race. I woke up really early today, I hope I can stay awake during the whole race.

I just realized how great this start is going to be. Honda and Toyota in the front row, of the Japan Gran Prix?!? How appropriate is that, huh? It's funny how these things work out like this. Two rivals that equal the rivalry of the Renault vs. McLaren battle going on, who are starting from the back (mostly) this time.

Im still awake and ready for the GP, i have sacrificd my sleep for this.

(5:18am)

all you guys saying mcmerc and renault gonna rule... haha. and droping toyota on that thing... man you couldnt pic a worse time.

this race is on at midnight here. not so bad... i had a coffee and am good to go i think... maybe one more though...

woooooooooooooo honda! nearly had the pole... but its looking good for the race. i hope button cant get the lead and keep it on track. i dunno what i would do if he won. some streaking maybe...

Wow, what a start. It was a big mess, which I figured would happen with the fasters guys in the back of the pack.

JV took out JPM. He pushed him to the outside at the last turn. Now, Kimi is 12, and Alonso is 8 with his team mate in second place. Looks good for Renault.

I can't believe they made Alonso go behind Klien again! He had to do it twice! What the hell is up with that! Stupid Klien. He was in his way for more than two whole laps. Idiot.

sato hit trulli... haha. sato...
Hit? He destroyed him! Ha-ha.

Man, what a race! I saw Alonso pass RS twice! And he'll need to do it again! Kimi passed RS, and now needs to pass Webber. Great race!

either way i liked it... but i just cant believe button couldnt do better. he had a good chance to win. at least hes still in the race though i was worried about that smoke.

I can't believe that unbelievable stupid move by Fisi. What a GD IDIOT! Why did he move over to let Kimi by! The idiot was blocking great, then decides to move far to the right, and Kimi goes by! Why the F did Fisi move over that far!

He had this race in his hands, and he gave it away. He had this race won, and he had one job to do. Yet, again, he blows it. Face it, Fisi sucks! Kimi did great, but there's no damn way Fisi should have losted first place that quickly to him.

Well, two, three ain't bad.

my ass wouldnt have blown it that bad after going to hard on burrito night.

yea, it must be kinda embarrassing for Fisi. Kimi and his own teammate Alonso started so far back in the pack yet still shared the podium with him.

Kimi

What a great finnish, 20th in qualifying, 17th on the grid I believe and took 1st in last lap. Now that's what I call a race. Alonso passes MS twice, some action between Kimi and MS, Kimi and Fisi on those last laps. Sato once again destroys, this time Toyota is the victim of the kamikaze act and he also went wide in T1. Chaotic 1st lap. Haven't seen this much action in a LOOONG time.

KIMI = best driver in F1 at the moment. 👍

kimi equals the best driver in f1 at the moment? so whos the best? alonso? haha. lets not open that can of worms now though. i know what you were trying to say.

seriously that was a good drive from him. very good.

just about the best race in a long time. 👍

button. :grumpy: 👎

Sato once again destroys

I've been trying not to badmouth Sato, but I have to admit that I was cracking up when they showed the slomo replay of him plowing into Trulli  Why was Sato's car in such great shape when Trulli's was scrapped?

That was the most action I've seen in an F1 GP in a loooooong time.

Kimi was the best driver of the day, but after watching all that, I think it's more of the "best driver-car combo". Fisichella didn't just roll over, Kimi got him with that fake overpass twitch, which sent Fisi all the way to the right (Kimi and Fernando had been overtaking there all day). Still, it was an impressive move... and shows why Fisi is only #2 on his team, Fernando could have defended a HELL of a lot better.

But overtaker of the day has to go to Alonso. Outside Schumi on the fastest turn of the course, and inside Webber (?) on the straightaway, using the pit exit on the inside line... brilliant stuff.
