S7/S10 tunes for auto trans:

These are for standard physics.

With the first 2 tunes I was able to run 1'57.6xx laps, and with both I was able to take the lead on lap 2, winning with a lead of over 16 seconds. With the Blitz I ran 1'55.4xx and smoked the field by over 20 seconds.

These tunes have a slight understeer to make them easier to drive, but they will go to oversteer if you turn the wheel too far. Brake just a bit early for Degner 2.

First 2 tunes will function as a 5-speed. 6th gear is never used. Blitz is also a 5-speed but uses 2-6.

Vette Tuned

Blitz
This car is surprising. I just ran my fastest S10 lap ever. It doesn't feel that fast when driving, but the numbers don't lie. This tune is very stable and still should work well for pad users and auto trans users. The only complaint when using auto trans is that it shifts down to 2nd in a couple of places where it doesn't need to, but still runs very well.

I just got 3rd at S6 last night using your tunes and about 1 second behind the 2nd. I am so happy. Only S10 left now and I can get an F2007 on my own. (not from someone 's gamesave)

Then you got it licked. It's easier to get gold in S10 than bronze in S6. :sly:
 
Finally I could finish S-class events. I got 2nd at S-10 using your tunes. (but I modified set up a little bit such as ABS=1 , increased spring rate to 5 & damper to 7 , increased brake balance to 6-4.

At last I already had an F2007. Really happy now :D

For S-10 using the tuned Corvette, I could not get a good balance going by myself. Either it pushed like a pig or tried to hang sideways through each turn. So if I tried to be nice and precise, I was too slow, and if I tried to grab it by the neck and make it go fast, it would end up in the grass or gravel too often.

But this setup is nice and balanced, and it allows me to focus on my form rather than on keeping the car on the road. Now I can be both consistent and fast, and I won S-10 rather easily on my first try with this setup.
 
I was OK with every GT5 Event before S-10.

All my experience couldn't get a Trophy on S-10
Until I used the Tuned Corvette 06. I had tried my
own tuning to no avail.

I have to say it surprised me. I never expected to run that fast with auto trans.
 
Added a S10 tune for the Z06 stock. If you think S10 isn't a challenge give this one a try. Wow! :crazy:

As promised here are the tunes for all the cars I've gotten gold in S10 with. These tunes are not fully optimized, with the possible exception of the Mines. Usually I took the lead on lap 3. The GT-R was lap 4. The Mines was lap 2!

So consider these tunes a starting point. For those who's driving style is similar to mine (agressive, tossing the car into corners and sliding through the apex) these tunes should work.

Pad users give the Blitz a try. It's very stable, and works well with auto transmission.

I included my best laps in testing. These are not the best I could do, but the best I did in that session. These times usually happened with some drafting help.

With these tunes both ABS and TCS will slow you down. You may still be able to get gold but I can't promise anything.


Mines - There is no question this is the best of the S10 tunes I've done. It's not only the fastest but it handles fantastic in traffic.
Best Lap: 1:56.624! with several other laps of 1:57.xxx. This is the only car I've run laps in this event under 1:57.

wow i cant see how you guys do this, im an ok driver... do all the tricks and tips suggested, useing the Mines for the S10 race with the specified tunings.

get to 9th place on 2nd lap if im lucky, and cant get any farther by the end of race... :(

That's exactly what happens to me when I try S10 on pro physics. You're not using pro physics are you? Cause if you are then you're actually doing pretty well. lol

I can't tell you how many times I tried S10 before I got it. I'd get 9th or 8th every time. Then I remembered something an instructor at the Bondurant school told me. Look ahead. It sounds simple but it's not. It's human nature to look where you are, but you have to look ahead. When you're about to enter a corner you should be looking at the apex, but as soon as you turn in shift to the corner exit. When you hit the apex you should be looking at the straight or even the next corner turn-in point. By just applying this rule I immediately finished 5th the next race. By consistently applying this rule I got 3rd within a few more tries. Gold a few tries after that.

Turn off all aids except ABS=1. They only slow you down. Even ABS slows you down, but it's easier to drive with ABS=1, especially if you don't have your brake bias set correctly.

Pick up the throttle as soon as you can in the corners. Not saying full throttle through the corners (although sometimes that works) but at least part throttle is needed except for the tightest hairpins and chicanes. Using some throttle through the corners keeps the rear end loaded and keeps the rear tires in line.

Don't be afraid to tap the brakes mid-corner to help your car rotate. It's not always necessary, but some cars really respond to a brake tap or two. But don't lift off the throttle. You'll unload the rear end.

Don't overdrive the corners. Slow down enough that your car will rotate through the corner. Slow in and fast out really does work.

Don't chase the AI cars. If you're focussed on the car in front of you then you won't be focussed on your braking, turn-in, etc. You'll catch them easier if you don't TRY to catch them. When you do catch them, then you can move to the inside and take the corner, but until then run your line.
 
Added an updated S10/750PP Suzuka online tune for the GT06. If you're a fan of the GT try this tune out.

BTW, any of the S10 tunes can be used for the 750PP Suzuka online race. These tunes are all stuck with R1 tires which may not be optimal for every car in this race.
 
Added a minimum car list of the cars you have to buy to complete the offline races and what races you can use them in. See post 4.
 
In S-10 its easy to get 3. place with R8, you win a lot in the corners and a very stable car and handling nicely :)

Have you done the Spec III update to your game? In the previous specs S10 was a 700PP race and the R8 could win it. Now it's a 750PP race and the R8 just doesn't have the speed to win, although I have gotten silver with it. The leading vette just runs too far ahead to catch in 5 laps.

Yes, I have done the Spec III update, and testet S-10 again on saturday.
I think to make 3. place its still easy, but you cant win with this car, then we had to wait for the W12 TDI or someting with more R :)

I made some tweaks to the Mine's S10 tune and ran a 1'55.556 lap. I modified the tune data to reflect these changes.

Could you share the DF-GT wheel settings, Sim or pro? , power steering on or off?

It's a matter of personal preference. I have mine set to pro mode, pwr steering off.
 
you are not going to believe it ,but i just got Gold on S10 with a vettle tuned on auto trans. 👍 my best time was 2.00 even.. and i think i can get better cuz i hit a corner cuz i was triying to get a bottle of beer.. :sly: it was the only mistake that i made..!! :dopey:

by the way.. i'm using a DFGT wheel..... give it a try on auto trans.... 👍

Hey guys. First post here as I thought it was worth mentioning that I got a 1'58.586 on s10 with a controller and auto trans with the Tuned Vette. I made a few mistakes and can easily get it down into to 56's FOR SURE, maybe faster. Just need some time :) So a MASSIVE cheers to s2k2k3 for the tune! I'll post again after I get a time I'm satisfied with
