Welcome to the Budget Nürbugring Challenge 300!
If you want to take part in the BNC 200 Click Here https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=102705

RULES
1. The car used must have UNDER 300hp.

2. The car must have less than 30'000 Cr spent on it (including price of the car itself).

3. Modifications are permitted as long as you dont go over the 30'000 Cr budget.

4. Nitrous is NOT allowed.

5. Must show proof (picture or video).

6. No corner cutting- must be a moderately clean lap.

7. Also specify modifications on the car and how much spent. (We dont want cheaters after all do we?)

8. Also for fair lap times I must ask that driving aids need to be OFF.

9. Mandatory oil change before racing to have a more accurate power figure. (if that makes sense)

Yay! :D

I'll put in a couple of laps before bed, in a bit.

The thing thats making me wonder is, what will be the fastest car of this challenge? One of the Imprezas? Skyline? Or will dumping another Cr.10,000 into the previous challenge's cars make them even faster? Find out during the duration of this challenge!

I'm gonna pick up a R32 Skyline GT-R '89 to start with, maybe move onto an Impreza or even perhaps a newer Silvia K's once I hit its limit :D

Well the BNC 200 is staying at a 20'000 limit.. maybe the Skyline will be the quickest. But im thinking RX-7 or MR2 Turbo because they are light and powerful :). Im going to get a car and get racing tomorrow! :D

Anyone wanting to use the R32 GT-R... dont. Why? Look.

Nissan Skyline GT-R '89 - Cr. 15,574
Oil change - Cr. 50
Spent - Cr. 15,624
Left - Cr. 14,376
BHP - 308

Back to the used lots for me.

Well many other cars can be used... just not the '32. Damn i was looking forward to see what one of them could do. :|

Yeah, same here. Maybe if theres ever a Cr.40,000/400bhp challenge. :p

Anyway, I think I spy an Impreza for 9k anyway :D

Heres my car:

Subaru Impreza Sedan WRX STi Version II (GC) '95 - Cr. 9,617

Oil change - Cr. 50
Stage 1 turbo - Cr. 4,500
Weight reduction stage 1 - Cr. 1,200
Twin clutch - Cr. 2,700
Wing - Cr. 1,200
R2 tyres - Cr. 10,500

Spent - Cr. 29,767
Left - Cr. 233

BHP: 300

Right, time to kick start this challenge :D

That cars gonna fly!

Im rolling in with a bit of Blackpool muscle!
I bought a TVR!
V8 S cost me 20'789, bit expensive but its got lots of torque and a big V8 upfront.. im gonna run a few laps stock to get a feel for the car and see where it needs to improve..
:)

Your not kidding. This Impreza handles like someone wrapped it around 20 trees in 5 minutes :-/ that explains the price! 💡

And yay, TVR, I've seen one of those up close, looks awesome :D

Haha! I thought they were meant to handle good. Im guessing about 5 miles of understeer yes? Thats why I prefer a FR or a MR:)

Not understeer, infact it rides on rails. But it seems to get thrown off the track easily, and its so unstable during high speed braking.

Managed a 7'45.549 first lap, despite flying off road more than twice. This car has potential, but its too interested in being a rally car to stay on the black stuff! :grumpy:

Are you going to carry on with the Impreza? Im going to see if the TVR's any good now.. I might consider beefing up the old FC see how it copes. Maybe you should do the same with the Silvia. :)

I might beef up the Silvia or rather, buy another one and dump Cr. 23,400 into it :sly: it might be faster than the Impreza if I gave it semi-racing suspension :D

One car I got my eye on is the Nissan Stagea, its expensive, but it should be very stable on the 'Ring.

EDIT: Got a time, thats all I'm doing with the Impreza for now. Maybe if the Silvia and Stagea dont do well I'll come back to it.

7'36.263

Not bad atall. :) Cool looking forward to it.. well im off to bed now mate got a long day tomorrow :( Night :)

Hehe, okay. Night man.

The Silvia is buggered. Its too expensive to tune to 300bhp, and even when I get close to it, I got no cash for handling mods! I guess the cheap and cheerful little S13 has met its match when it comes to money/bhp challenges

I'll still give it a run with what it can do though, it might do well.

Edit: Nope, the S13 cant keep up at all with the Impretzel. Guess that leaves the Stagea.

Don't care if I win or lose, but I'm gonna try some random cars, even if they're not with the norm. Should be fun anyways :)

Toyota SUPRA 2.5GT Twin Turbo R '90 - 11,458cr.
Intercooler: Racing - 3,000cr.
Weight Reduction Stage 1 - 1,200cr.
Weight Reduction Stage 2 - 5,500cr.
Sports Tires: Soft (S3) - 6,800cr.
Clutch: Sports - 1,700cr.
TOTAL: 29,658cr.

Stats: 294hp/1292kg

...

The time: 7'58.778

Handled like a boat. :banghead:

I'm a noob who is just getting back into GT4, but I think I want to give this a try.

EDIT:

Picked up a '97 Chevy Camaro Z28 - 12,055
Oil change - 50
R2 tires - 10,500
Chip - 1,500
Race Flywheel - 1,050
Weight Reduction 1 - 1,200
Carbon Driveshaft - 3,000
Total Spent = 29,355

300hp/1373 kg

Best time so far: 7:40.770

One question I have, could rigidity refresh be considered a freebie? My Camaro needs one badly.

Nah man, thats the roolz.

30,000cr and 300hp.

If you want rigidity refresher stuff, wait till Sliderman hosts the 1Millcr/1MillBHP budget Nurb challenge.

Once you see that thread, go right ahead and buy the new chassis.

Nice time btw

:irked:👍

Thats cool, just thought I'd ask. I'm starting to get used to it as it is without the refresh.

Great fun!
Really enjoyed the search and build followed by a couple of quick laps.
Built a '91 RX7 Type R (about 13,500), used a wing and sports suspension running 296hp. Easily took me to 7'36.9 on a sloppy lap. Might put in some real work with the combo but for now I'm happy with the experience (even though I have nothing to show for it).

Thanks for the great spotty!

hey i might just use a CLK-GTR race car that i won.

hey i might just use a CLK-GTR race car that i won.

I think thats slightly over the BHP limit. :sly:

Gonna try a Stagea now, found a nice yellow one.

EDIT: Pppppffffffttttt!!!!

The Stagea cant even keep up either. Looks like the Impreza with its cheapness and lightweight seems to have an advantage. :ouch:

I changed the setup on my Camaro.

'97 Z28 - 12,055
Chip - 1,500
R1 Tires - 8,400
Race Flywheel - 1,050
Oil Change - 50
Weight Reduction 1 - 1,200
Weight Reduction 2 - 5,500

Total: 29755

300hp / 1326kg

Best Time: 7:33.722

EDIT: I'm also building up a '89 Nissan 300ZX

Hey, i might just ignore the roolz, and use a car i won, instead of bought, with more horsepower than is allowed in this specific challenge, instead of 300 or under! :dopey:

 :banghead:

👎:grumpy:

Not to worry fellas, I'm sure korza was just fooling around or making an honest mistake. :indiff: No biggie! :D

As for me... I think I'm going to try again with my RX7 on a different build. This time I'm going to upgrade to S3 or R1 tires and kill whatever power mods are necessary. Probably end up with S3 tires first (I'd hate to use R tires in this but we'll see).

Back when I've got a new build and a new time!

I think I might have to jump in on this as well, it seems like it'll be fun! Time to go car shopping... :sly:

Decided on a '97 RX-7 RS-R for the ridiculously low price of 12,987

Budget:

Car 12987
Oil 50
S1 Turbo 4800
S1 Weight Reduction 1200
R2 Tires 10500
-------------------------------
Total Cost 29537 cr.
Power 297 bhp

Looks like tires are a good investment folks! This is a rough time - plan to shave it down some more, and plan to try sacrificing the rubber in favor of a suspension - this puppy is STIFF from the factory.

<edit> previous 7'28.161 replaced by a new hotlap shown below. Looking at my sector times, 7'23.xxx is more than possible, but stringing all of the elements together over such a long track in such a stiff car would require some WRS-D1-level heroics.

So, don't change the oil...

Sorry I been away from the action guys! Been away for a couple of days but im firing up the ps2 now to get a few laps in.:D

So, don't change the oil...

Oil change is mandatory sorry.

I am working on a '95 Impreza. I have 11,000cr. left but don't know what to spend it on. Can't decide between tires or a fc transmission.
