It's happened, I can't believe it. I literally have not started up Gran Turismo 5 for over a week now. I don't think I've completely moved on, but, the only things left are the endurance races. I'm not going to do them until the save is implemented in between pit stops. But nonetheless, I'm at a crossroad now. I'm only level 30 something A-Spec and B-Spec. I don't even remember now, (how sad is that ?) but I just don't feel motivated to play anymore. I have most of the rarest cars in the game, the online game-play is good every once in awhile when I was able to get in a room where the races don't take 20 minutes in between them b/c the host won't start the race. But other than that, I just feel like maybe I did lose money reserving this game? I love the gran turismo series, and I really think this is an amazing game, but I'm done already besides the endurance races. This just feels strange to me, maybe I'm just realizing it

This isn't a rant, I bet a lot of you feel the same right now. The game has been out for a solid 4 months now more or less. Is anyone else essentially losing their mojo to continue with this game ?

Its because PD didn't put enough things to do. I only just reached level 30 the other day and I find myself only racing on my own tracks for fun because everything else jsut feels like a chore and I didn't buy thing game to feel like I'm at work.

If Kaz is truthful about GT5 expanding and lasting for a while, I feel we're just taking the test drive... so to speak. :)

I totally understand how you feel. Although I'm not there yet and am currently going through as many of the enduros as I can be bothered with I am already looking with great interest at Shift 2 Unleashed as a complte replacement for GT5.

It's a surprise to me as I've hated every NFS game that ever there was but the hype around this one is very promising also it seems to me that after >12 years and 10 versions of GT owned and played to death by me I think I am now finally done with this series which is a great shame, I thought GT5 would last at least 2 years in my PS3 before being supersceeded....alas it's lasted 6 weeks and I'm already eyeing up a replacement.

I haven't played this game for a couple of weeks, if not months. The only thing i am doing is waiting for another significant update that hopefully gives us more cars, tracks etc. :) Or at least controlling bob from far away so i dont have to deal with sitting in front of my tv for hours.

I can't believe anyone plays offline other than to earn credits, competing against real people is everything in a driving game.

Honestly, I don't understand. I play, maybe 15 hours a week since the game came out, I am level 30 ish in A spec. But, I could care less about the level. I spend most of my time in pratice with a new car every 4-5 hours. There is around 300-400 great cars that are worth learning, tunning, even changing pieces and obviously driving. Just yesterday, I bought 8 cars out of the UCD, and the list of "Want to drive" list just gets bigger and bigger.

Imo, don't just drive A spec, but go feel all those great cars, and go Online. It isn't as bad as people says, or just create a room with the name : GTP Race Only, and you'll discover a brand new game.

Indeed, as mentioned above it is due to lack of tracks. This topic however is not about that, there's many other threads in the forum about that. It's just to me I've been defending GT5 to my friends and now I'm genuinely surprised that I'm playing MGS4 again, some Battlefield 2, even checking out the PS Store which I haven't even looked at since November of last year to see what's new. Recently rented Little Big Planet 2 since my wife enjoy's it, and she even takes notice I'm not up late hitting up some races.

I'm just kind of annoyed that I haven't had the motivation to start up GT5 in some time you know ?

Absolutely and that's great in a closed lounge with only friends, in fact I am starting a new championship which kicks off in 10 days that way. But the open lobbies are so unstable, if you are lucky enough to find someone who wants to race your way chances are the room will collapse and time out before a race gets going.

I like online, but some of these rooms have ridiculous restrictions to benefit the host, or the host starts up the races in 15 - 20 minute increments. I at one point was just buying cars to fiddle around with since I'd love a Shelby, or Mach 1 in real life but *sigh* what's the point if I'm not able to fairly race them with others I guess. I was even using some really bad cars in some races just to make things interesting, and people with far more advanced cars out matching me would quit out because I was ahead of them 7th/10th place. I also do not care about leveling up and all that. I just want to be like it was before where I couldn't sleep at night, and all day at work I'm thinking about getting home to race some cars. That feeling has been gone for a couple of weeks now.

I personnaly still like the game and specialy the online part. Just finished a couple of awesome SuperGT races.

Yeah, I have only played GT5 for 10 minutes today after not playing it for a week... And when I got to the main menu, I didn't know what mode to play, the game just seemed boring :(
32 A-Spec and 33 B-Spec...

You guys not playing anymore should gift me your best cars :).

Use em or lose em!

GT5 has only been out for 2,5 months, not 4 :)

Beginning of Novemeber + December + January + February 5th = "4 months more or less"

.... to me anyways

But anyways, does that mean you still play frequently or not so much ? Or were you trying to correct my math estimations ?

I won't ever feel that about this game...it's amazing, if your getting bored playing single player, hop online, it's fun to just mess around and talk about cars, there is more to this game then you guys think.

i think you need to get a good group of people and race online. the only time i race offline is either for credits or to practise new driving techniques (handbreak turns in 4wd cars etc)

I understand completely. I haven't touched A-Spec in a month. I do play the game online on a daily basis however. Find yourself some clean drivers and you can have a lot of fun. Browse the online section of the GTP forums for interesting events, etc.

I completely understand everyone who feels this way. Even though I still play everyday by doing time trials, car testing, and anything else that's left, once you hit level 30, you run into a wall.

As someone said, there's not enough to do in this game. I remember when I got GT3, and played it like crazy for the first few months. And I still wasn't done with it by that time. And it was amazing how many events they made just using 150 cars. Wish they could've done the same here.

I just hope PD keep updating seasonals and that this new GT Driver's Club will add more playability to the game.

It was released around the 24th of November. Were you one of those guys that got it reeaally early? :)

The last thing I did was the first enduro (60 laps of Grand valley I think) with a friend. We took turns doing 10 laps apiece for a couple of hours. Great fun, but I'm really not interested in the rest of them.

I think some people just play the game too much, or played it too much. That goes for ANY game, if you play it 8-10 hours a day you'll get bored of it eventually.

I agree with everyone about the problems with this game, but that's not gonna stop me playing it. I play it just to drive. I just start a lounge and do laps with my friends. If you sit and dwell on all the problems you'll never be able to really enjoy the game.

Nov 23rd was the official releasedate, which was 10 weeks ago, = 2,5 months. But it's not important in this case ;)

i've been passing the time testing out what cars i can get the best lap times at at various tracks and grinding lvls in b spec.

So, you golded all the license tests and special events?

Did you complete A-Spec fairly by using cars that are no more powerful than the typical opponents?

Why not join an online league where you can have great races scheduled every week?
