If you play Crysis online, be sure to drop me a friend request on the appropriate account 👍 last time I saw you online must have been on the garage showdowns on GT5P.
My NLxAROSA account is deprecated. ;) I only use my GTP (and some others ;)). Anyway, will have to check out the game again now that it's patched. 👍

I rented this game the other day, as I'm usually apprehensive when it comes to shooters. Long story short, I love it. :)

I haven't tried it online yet, but I'm sure I'll be breaking that ice later today. This'll be first on my list when I get my tax returns. 👍

Be ready for a hard time getting into the online, it is not an easy game to pick up from the get-go. Keep at it though and if you enjoy a challenge of learning a new game, more power to you.

I didn't expect it to be, so it's sort of good news. I like a good challenge.

I played Killzone 3 online a little yesterday. It was okay, but it got boring really fast. I found the maps aren't as fun as the ones in the second game. Ah well. Finding out a game has a bit of a curve to it actually intrigues me even more. :)

Put it this way, the MP trailer saying the suit is a game changer is bang on. Never forget your suits abilities and never underestimate them, unlike the single player you have to think how you use the suit and therein how the other players will as well.

I was worried people would whore out stealth and hide in corners, but it's not been much a problem at all thanks to clever map design and mechanics. It may yet happen, but so far it's all working out great.

Well, I had my first multiplayer match. I lost connection with the host (does this happen often?), but I was going 5K/8D, which isn't horrible for a first time.

I do have to say that it's very clever. The suit is very useful, but it is not a saving grace (I'm only at the first level, so I don't know how it levels up). I know one thing... I love it. It's different, and I believe you when you say that it's tough for people to get into it, but I can see me getting into it.

When Aliens explode in crysis 2, wouldnt it be sick if Blood got onto your visor and onto the surrounding area? they explode and you don't see any goop anywhere...

I played last night for a few hours and didn't disconnect once, it does happen but I think it's when the host switches off or quit to XMB without quitting properly. The suit does get more powerful as you go as you can level up the modules (think like pro perks on COD games, except theirs 2 extra levels to get for each module) though the upgrades are not all powerful so it seems and you get what you NEED to begin with. It's the same with weapons, you generally get better weapons as you level up (though it takes a fairly long time, perhaps to long) but you get solid weapons to start off, there's no must avoid weapons so far.

It rewards your progression though you may think that the other guy has a way better gun, chances are if you play right you can still win the fight, at level 18 I still haven't really moved away from the SCAR + Extended Mags and I feel more and more powerful each time I play through my own improvements not the things I unlock. Once you really click with it you'll be running around like a madman including jumps, slides and all sorts into your combat.

'Youtubes video'

It'd be a nice touch but I personally couldn't care less, nice little video though.

its a bit of a strange omission considering how water can get on the visor and that blood was present in previous games... maybe console limitations lead to them leaving it out of the pc port. maybe it will be included in the directx 11 patch for pc...

I must ask, do you really care? Chances are they probably didn't bother because it's such a small thing and there are more pressing matters to deal with. I suspect more of a time limitation caused by multi-platform development rather than an outright hardware limitation.

Played the first couple of missions and I'm enjoying it so far. One enemy soldier got stuck in a tree, so I walked up to him and put him out of his misery. While enjoyable, there are some really bothersome and lacking aspects to this game(A.I., weaponry and pacing). Definately not my first-person shooter of the year and another game that seems to have gotten a free pass with some of the scores it has recieved.

Edit: Completed the game and it was enjoyable. I enjoyed the length of the game and it had some pretty cool elements to it. I wouldn't say it's COD with a nanosuit, but that's just me. An enjoyable experience but it has it's issues, like many other games.

Just finished Crysis 2 and it was very disappointing. The SP is basically COD with a nanosuit. The story explains almost nothing on what happened in the first game and the game was really repetitive. Honestly, i wouldn't call Crysis 2 a Crysis game and this game isn't worth sixty dollars. Good thing i borrowed it from a friend (Who also hated it).

There is a definate divide of opinions with Crysis 2, seems to be a marmite game so far with many on either extreme end of the scale and not to many sitting in the middle.

Dig up time (and double post ftw :sly:), I just got my copy back after lending it to my pal and my word have I missed my nanosuit. After a quick single player mission to get myself settled back in, I went online and just had a complete blast on Crash Site which is by far my favourite game type due to almost zero camping or slowing down in pace at all.

It's good to see the community playing though not necessarily high in numbers seem high in quality in terms of play-style, I feared Crysis would become a camp fest but it so hasn't at all with people playing for the objective much more then their own gain. It's so refreshing to see so many bodies piling towards the single objective in a desperate battle for control, with those going right for the marker and people tactically defending or flanking to try clear the place out, even if it's nobody is talking it just sort of happens.

I got some great scores to and some real billy badass moments which are just oh so satisfying when you get a 3 or even 4 piece, heck even a double kill makes you feel good because you simply can't do it all alone. Moment of the night was a 140-145 game, with the pod up in the air meaning essentially whoever holds it wins, seeing 12 people charge full bolt towards it and who arrives on the scene first? Who else, sliding in armor on firing like a maniac completely alone in a desperate bid for victory, I die the very moment my team scores clocks the cap and we win by mere milliseconds.

Nice, looking forward to giving it a go on PC (got myself a copy for PC as well, since it was on discount :)). Any words on the performance hit of running this?

nothing yet, but i am anticipating something like half the fps w/ tessellation and high res texture pack at 1080p :p... maybe more of a hit than that...

Just downloaded and tried the high resolution textures and the DX11 packs.

Forget about the DX11 bit with a Radeon HD5670, unless you want to run it at 800x600. High resolution textures are excellent though (I have a 1GB card). 👍 Performance appears to be similar to what it was.

I bought this game recently, not much of a gamer and need walkthroughs to figure out what to do. Well that tells you what my level of gameplay is. :sly:
I have a hard time finishing each "chapter" in SP mode. But it's FUN, and progressing slowly. :D

Question: in some 'youtubes' I've seen Alcatraz in 3rd person view. Is that something I can do in SP mode and if so what do I press to do/undo that?

You can see alcatraz in killcam replays and in the intro videos of him at the beginning of the game.

I'm another fan of the game. I love it. Even if my KD is like .7

Just a question: How is Crysis 2's performance compared to the original one?

I was playing the original Crysis on high settings fine, but I'm unsure how the new graphics engine is. I'd be a bummer if I'd suddenly have to go on low settings to play the game. It is a fantastic looking game!

Crysis 1 runs quite a bit slower than Crysis 2, it's just not as well optimised. So what i'm saying is, whatever you had Crysis 1 runnning at, Crysis 2 (atleast in Dx9 mode, which is higher quality than original crysis dx10) will be running at considerably higher FPS.
