Crysis 2

I agree. I noticed it a LOT yesterday. I really think its a LOT to do with the EA servers. I just hope the Crytek 3 engine truly pushes the 360 to the max. The Crytek 3 demo looked unbelievalbe but as we all know, most games never push a game engine to its max. However if any game will do it, it will be Crysis 2. I know the PC version will look good but I am hoping its pretty good on the 360 also. The 3d reacting water sure looks great thats for sure.

I'm really interested to see what this can do with the consoles, i played it on the PC and as i mentioned it looked just the same as Crysis 1 (still amazing). I always thought that Crysis was not released on consoles due to the lack of power available. I guess after this time they have both tailored the CryEngine 3 more to consoles, along with being able to squeeze out more power from them.

I would be impressed if the consoles can make it look anything like it looked for me on the PC. I still run Win Xp so i won't be jumping on the DX11 bandwagon, but i cant wait to see if they can push it passed Crysis 1, i imagine DX11 will make that difference.

The bullet delay spoiled it for me, it wasnt great with Battlefield and i found it annoying, but playable. Crysis 2 demo however is quite a bit worse.

Getting kills when your bullets miss, and not getting kills when your bullets hit, is quite annoying.

Welcome to call of duty, just watch the killcam haha

Just played the demo and this game totally SUCKS! The multiplayer is so boring and you literally can't kill anything. Total COD wannabe, except it's got more complicated, stupid things.

Doesn`t look anywhere near as good as Crysis or Warhead does on my PC. It`s pretty much photo realistic. I sure hope they raise the ante for the PC retail release. Almost time to replace my 4870 card. I paid $299 for it the first week it came out and then it went up to $399 so I scored there, but now I can get more than twice the speed in a new DX11 card for $300 and it`ll use less power too!

Anyone have any feedback on this game since it came out today? I plan to rent it in the near future mainly for the Campaign.

I have it for 360 and holy @#$% are the graphics rocking! Way better than I thought they'd be after the demo.

I'm still packing a HD3870, and it did a fine job with the demo, game hasn't been released here yet but i'm expecting it to arive before the end of the week, preorders usually do.

For the campaign or the mp? The mp graphics in the demo were a bit disappointing especially on Skyline but tier 17 looked great in the demo.

This arived this morning, have been playing it throughout the night and i must say i really enjoy it so far. I have it on high graphical settings (which is the lowest) at 1680x1050 resolution and it looks fantastic, runs smooth.

Shooting physics have improved over the original and i think the Nano Suit system works better. Storyline wise i still don't get it and i'm over halfway through and so far theres nothing to explain what has happened since the first crysis/warhead, or why the situation is like it is.

I'm playing on veteran dificulty which is decent, 3/4 so there is one harder level. Its challenging enough once you're well into the game and you have to think of every situation tactically (much like the first game). Pretty enjoyable, really good and smooth graphics on my old system.

As for online, i've not played it yet, i played the demo and i wasnt a massive fan but it wasnt enough time to really get a feel for the game, single player wise though i think its great so far. If there was one complaint... i still have no idea whats going on and im pretty sure i'm over halfway in.

If you like Far Cry 1 on PC, Crackdown, Fear, or RSV you will love Crysis 2.

I played this campaign last night for about 3 hours straight and so far it is a lot of fun. I have been taking my time and so far it is much better than I expected. The initial feel is a LOT like Far Cry on the PC. Especially the way you can go into an area then decide if you want to attack with stealth, or run and gun. When I battle outdoors it reminds me of FC, once I am inside buildings it feels like Fear. Then when climbing rooftops and superjumping it reminds me of Crackdown.

Controls and movement are very fluid and work well. I also like the subtle upgrades for the suit and the guns.
Graphics are some of the best I have seen in the 360. Graphically 99% of the game looks amazing! Only a couple spots here and there with issues but they dont take away from the game at all. Some of the beginning water puddles have the same problem that Medal Of Honor had where you look at the reflection and its nowhere near what its supposed to be at all. But this is only a very very minor graphic glitch. The 3d water effects in the rest of the game are stunning and very realistic. So again, only 1% of the game has grahic issues. The rest is stunning and very highly detailed!

The AI can be very intelligent but at the same time seem to get hung up on pieces of the environment quite a bit. Which results in some downright silly encounters.

So far the 3 hours I have with the game have been very enjoyable and truly a flashback of Far Cry on the PC in a good way. Then mix that with Crackdown, RSV, and Fear. [:)]

Campaign, haven't spent more than 10 minutes in MP, but it looked great too.

Can't believe hardly anybody is playing this, this game is simply amazing. 👍 So far, I have been playing a few hours of the single player campaign, and this game is easily the best looking PS3 shooter. Gameplay is also excellent and really drags you in and makes you want to play on and on. :) Have yet to try multiplayer, should be fun.

So, anybody playing it on PC??

If yes, I am open for some MP matches.

On other news :

Want to tweak your graphic settings.
You can do that either via the console or via editing the system.cfg (as i already said for the pc demo)
Here is a guide with all the commands prompts for now:
Enjoy tweaking

Don't forget to backup your original system file

Aye I play it on the PC, still not tried multiplayer, i'm gonna wait until all the gremlins and the cheaters are sorted out. Finished the game on Veteran single player, got quite far on the "Post-Human Warrior" difficulty (which to be honest seems even easier as you get to keep your nano upgrades from the previous game).

I only got my preorder today (Uk friday release :(, but saved 50% 👍), so i will be trying the sp out tonight.
I thought the Mp demo was fun, level design reminded me of Counterstrike

Played the PC Demo when it came out and i was not impressed at all. They ruined the multiplayer mode by making it into Call of Duty with Nanosuits and the Nanosuits are dumbed down. Sad, since the first game's multiplayer was a lot more enjoyable and original and looking at the user reviews of the retail game, i'm not sure if i will get this game.

It kinda feels like a mix between CoD and Halo.

I liked it when I played the demo, it's fast paced and the graphics are pretty good considering it's DX9 only.

I do have a feeling that they've tried to make it console friendly and this does tend to disappoint PC gamers a little.

I just played the SP.
And wow.
The graphics are beautiful. In the opening scene, the graphics are amazing.

my gpu is screaming though, but it still is a 280gtx (1gb). Need to get a dx11 card soon,...

Totally worth it's money, and the SP is not a 4h compaign which is good.
I liked the MP demo.
For realistic setting i wait for BF3, this Mp will tie me over.

EDIT

If configurating the system.cfg is too complicated you can download a program here to adjust your graphics to your likening

(It's a trusted site)

I use both system now.

Everything over the program and added multi threading :D

Completed the SP yesterday in roughly 15 hours. Excellent SP IMO and it has good replay value too. 👍

Best shooter to come along on the PS3 in a long time as far as I am concerned. Good stuff! Awaiting DLC or expansion. ;)

15 hours? May I ask how? I went through on medium in 8.5 hours first go (which was a mistake I should have put it higher to start off) and I've ran through 13 missions of Supersoldier (hardest) in 3-4 hours which has been an easy ride so far thanks to the unlocked modules being usable in a second playthrough, it's nice to keep those things though instead of losing everything every playthrough like many other titles.

As for the game itself I am loving it so far, MP and SP, I'm finding Crysis to be such a breath of fresh air compared to what I've been playing for the last few years in the genre which has been far to focused on gritty military shooters rather then the more sci-fi feel of Crysis. I have no real complaints about either side, though part of me worries that the MP has a couple of overpowered weapons specifically the one SMG which fires electromagnetic pellets (K-Volt?). Other than that it's all praise from me, top of which is just the general feeling of power which the suit provides as opposed to just being some random soldier who happens to be above all others, in either MP or SP you just feel more special and it's that uniqueness which has me hooked at the moment and probably for a while to come yet.

I hope supersoldier is harder. I easily beat the game on veteran difficulty. The AI was pretty dumb compared to the first one and especially after beating Reach on legendary.

Sure. :D Been playing stealthy/sneaky; analyzing situations as I go along and carefully planning how to approach the situation. I usually assess a scene first, then clean out all the enemies one by one. So it's a bit of hit-and-run tactic. Kill one, re-cloak, move to other position, take out next, etc. etc. I also admire the scenery. So I play quite slowly. Also, the first time I played it, I had no idea of how strong the aliens were, so I was really careful the first few levels they were appearing. I can imagine being a lot faster second time through. 👍

I personally thought the AI was much more intelligent than the first game, they flank you and sneak up on you. Sometimes in the first game i'd be standing right next to an enemy and hed be shouting all korean at me while totally oblivious to the fact that im right next to him, uncloaked. I don't know how it is on the consoles, but having played Crysis 1 just before Crysis 2 was released (intentionally) i noticed a big improvement in the AI, though still suffering from some of the same silly stupidness issues.

Once you get a hang of stealth kills and sneaking up on the aliens they become really easy to kill, most of the time i kill them by sneaking up and stealth kill, if it fails i will just grab them and choke them to death.

And I thought I was pretty sneaky  but I suppose a fair few times I would sneak into a good position then unleash hell on a few enemies before moving on to the next spot (cloaked) and repeating, you can still get away with doing the same on Supersoldier if you're clever and quick about it but my second playthrough has almost been exclusively avoiding combat wherever possible.

They're too easy to kill in many ways. I can kill the large alien robot dudes without even firing a single shot. I found the AI so dumb. If you want to see brilliant AI play Reach on Legendary....suicide bombers anyone? 👍

I think the AI is intelligent enough, but some of the pathing is definitely lacking: if an enemy gets stuck in the scenery, they simply can't get away anymore and they just move forward and backward a bit or keep walking into the object.

In the end game, I was able to pick off the last two guardians really easy by climbing onto a pile of rocks. The enemies didn't seem to know how to get there, so they just moved back and forth a bit. Not so much a display of stupid AI, but lack of pathing: they saw me, kept firing at me, but they simply had no path to where I was.

played SP through last sunday.
Was very dissapointed from the game (i have all other titles from Crytek and especially love Crysis 1).
- graphics are ****, real **** (compared to crysis 1 and or BF Bad Company 2)
- AI is quite stupid
- story is mhh boring (i dont need story in a shooter, but as they used so much video they could at least go into some more detail and relate the story better to the part 1)

This critics are related to the PC version of the game. The Rig i have is also very decent in performance.
