Well, my friends and I started a series on GT5 a week back. We were tried of facing randoms in lobbies that couldn't drive and facing us 3 in a private match. Yesterday we had our series race that we created. We got people but they were terrible not even worth our time. I assumed that coming to this site there would be good people to compete against. I kind of got the feeling that all the good people that actually play this game have their own series of races that have been going on for awhile.

Oh I forgot the add the "y" in really. :P

Just keep at it dude. Eventually you'll find the right people to build a series with. That's the key as you know, no matter what the series is, it's not fun at all if the people are jerks or don't show up every week. There are so many people on this site, give it time.

The people that we got were nice and respectful, but they left mid race because they thought one of my friends was cheating in qualifying. We were doing GT300 cars on Fuji F and my friend put up a lap time of 1:41 they were 8 to 10 + off the pace of us 3 alone, but thanks for the advice. We're just looking for people that are better than us and can give us a run for our money.

Are they stock GT300 or tuned?

GT300 stock. What kind of question is that? They're race cars built for that series and built to those specs.

That's a legitimate question.
Because it doesn't go without saying.
Lots of people tune everything every which way, no matter what. :boggled:

And it's EVER so important to specify ALL the particulars when advertising an organized race here at GTP.

How you present the racing, and the information you give...
And the friendliness of your presentation... will make ALL the difference in regards to the people you'll get signed up racing with you!!

I think I can speak as an authority in this matter, because I've been organizing and hosting a lot of REALLY good racing, with lots of good fun, clean, fair, & friendly racers here at GTPlanet for about a year now. 👍
(I also worked in advertising for a number of years, so that likely helped too.)

The most important things...

You make the allowed cars & tracks & settings & restrictions & regulations & rules and the dates & times VERY CLEAR right up front.

Those are the things people look at first when deciding whether to join a race event, series, or league.

That was the series that I got people for. Apart from that I was looking at series to join. Those series either looked full or they didn't look that good. Thanks for the advice though.

Just because someone has a GTP account doesn't mean they know who to race properly. You best off hosting short races to recruit good racers for league racing. I have met many good drivers and most of them are not on GTPlanet. Not that there aren't plenty of really good driver here. It just takes time to find the right group of people.

Meh, the only people I've seen that are actually good are my 2 friends and a few randoms that joined my public room, I wish I could get into these series that have really good people. I thought the series that I hosted was short in terms of races. The people were just terrible that joined it though.

Because I wanted to try it!

Just did 2 laps in stock Cusco Imrezza 1.42.9 and 1.42.4, if I used the AA RX-7 I could probably do 1.40's
Thats on DS3 Auto box, so whoever you were racing against weren't representative of all people on here and I would go as far as to say they are absolutely rubbish at the game if they are 10+secs off that!

BTW No practicing, no tuning so could go faster!

Well, another issue is, "good driver" is a very subjective term.

And maybe try joining other people's races - established hosts' races, before expecting these good drivers to trust in you as a host. 👍

My friend was in a ASL '08 using a DS3, and his best lap 1:41. He said he could do better, but he went to go do something else. Me and my other friend couldn't touch it. I had a best lap of like 1:42 in the premium RX7 and my other friend had a 1:42 something in the Celica. Yeah, the people that I got were trash, 10 secs off the pole lap. They didn't even know how to do a rolling start.

The thing is I don't like doing tuned road cars, since after all they're not made to race. I like doing race cars that are built to race. Second I want to have control over the series.

Well,

1st: There's plenty of races out there in untuned road cars as well as many races with race cars.... So I'm not sure what your point is about that.

2nd: If you want to have control over the series... Well, then maybe you should be friendly to the people you're hoping to attract. Part of that is getting to know racers by racing with them... Thus my suggestion.
👍

I was implying that I see a lot tuner races. What kind of races do you organize?

GT300 stock. What kind of question is that? They're race cars built for that series and built to those specs.

I quote from the first post of your series:

GT500s - 502 hp, 1100 kg.
GT300s - 335 hp, 1100 kg.

So... it doesn't sound like they were stock. It sounds like people could modify their cars to meet these requirements. If others brought stock cars to a race where you and your friends tuned them... well...

Bob's your uncle.

They were stock, oil change on GT300s are 315 hp to 335. Those are the GT300 that are worth driving. Also what makes you know what it was like in the room? You weren't even there. If you want to race us that's fine with us. Me and my friends are looking for good people to race against.

Like has been stated several times. Get to know people and I'm sure people will invite you into their series.... and not to be rude, but threads like this aren't going to help you.

Agreed.

Join in on my series for a race or two. You want a challenge, you'll find it there. ;)

You come accross with an elitist attitude and your name calling (as wittnessed in another thread) has really got to stop. Calling people idiots or trashy drivers isn't going to win you any friends. Not a personal attack towards you, just giving you an honest opinion from what I've seen. Good luck.

Sure, I'll join your series. Let me know what you're doing and I can get 2 more people.

Meh, I admit I went over the line, but when you set something up and try to pull together the resources to get the series going only to find out it was a complete waste of time kind of aggravated me and my friends. A part from the fact that James guy comes in my thread saying we're trash kind of pushed it over the line.

Link is in my sig. All info you need is in the thread including the registration link.

No offense, but your Miata race and your decked out V8 super car race looks really boring. Why would you deck out a road car and call it a race car? Don't you do actual race cars that race in actually series, like LMPs, Super GTs? Thanks for the offer though.
