i would rather you had the racing exhaust on rather than spend hours trying to get it to 295 by breaking it in...

*Cough*

Apologies to everyone I hit, I am having major oversteer under braking still...

What brake balance are you running?

Take you car in a straight line and slam the brakes on. Watch the tire monitor, which tyres lock up first?

If it's your rears, decrease rear:front brake bias ratio, If it's your fronts, you're most likely turning while still holding too much brake, i.e. you're at threshold but the extra strain on the tyres from turning, tips it over the edge.

*Cough*

I'm trying to help you're oversteer situation. 👍

I try 1 1 and oddly find 10 10 effective at some tracks....

Erm..... I'd start with 4-2. :scared:

Also, why is everyone using such low BB values? :boggled:

Because we stink

3/2 is as high as I can go before all I do is crash. 1/0 is actually OK on a slow track.

If you use lower brake balance it means it takes more brake force to lock the wheels up - it depends on driving likes and styles but 3/1 is fine for me

i was using 4/7 and was experiencing problems then changed to 1/0 and was fine, but i am no good at tuning cars and i'l admit it

1/0 is way too low. You won't get anywhere near enough brake force, at least in my opinion. I use 4-2 as default on roadcars (used in Elises) and adjust to suit. I use 6-3 for race cars. (used for Elise RMs.)

Yes but it gets to the point where you can't slow down effectively at speed because you can't reach the grip threshold of the tyres. :indiff:

I use 5/5 and 6/5 for racecars (Over 400HP) when I'm not using ABS.
At 1/0 I could use full braking power into turn 1 (~135 MPH) and it would lock up after about a ~second. I know it is a little short from the threshold but it it let's me drive the way I like, trail-braking deep into corners. And on the slower corners I have a lot of control so I can threshold brake consistently.

I always just left it at 5-5 when I used ABS. :O

I just like a bit more brake power for tight corners you arrive at at high speed.

i didnt know i could change brake balance until the first test i was at for TOCA (i thing it was nurb). i am embarrassed:guilty:

I haven't proposed this idea to Furi yet, but in case you don't know I'm a budding motoring journalist and I was thinking what better way to get started than reporting on TOCA. I was thinking that I could do a newspaper report every week or so, featuring the latest results, team and driver speculation and reports from drivers, featuring weekly interviews. How would you all feel about this?

FTFY.:p

Help. Please someone protect my phone.

 haha NOOO!!!

@Mini, i'll grant a special upgrade as the Mini is below power. Race exhaust permitted.

Until VW miracouosly walks away with a huge lead over everyone I see no reason to penalise it. All car performance levels are going to be monitored though with regards to this season and their inclusion in future seasons.

I WANT TO DO A NEWS COLUMN, ON THE TOCA WEBSITE AT LEAST?

Please? :3

Look at Strawman's testing, surely that's enough to penalise it. It would be the fastesr at 7 of the tracks, it's another BMW except we're not allowed change to it.:grumpy:

Look its the only way Tom and Furi can get better than last. Let them cheat a little.

I'm all for it Tom. How about starting with a full set of interviews and team analasis on the cars and drivers. Go for it.

What the heck?

Giving it at least a 10BHP drop isnt gonna affect anything what so ever, you cant wait till Sumo or someone has won the championship and then its everyone fighting over 2nd, 3rd etc.....

Not a real-life report is it? A GTP-Central one sounds cool though. 👍

@Neljack. Save judgement for post-Cape.

yeah, but look at the HONDA's performance (it may be the drivers)
1,2 top at le mans
1,2 top at nurburgring
1,2 at cape ring
4 tenths off at HSR(its weakest track)

leave the VW powerful, we need a car to fight the Honda's

Honda is equal to the Ford/Mazda at GVS and Cape - its driver really imo and Akmuq has done a great job at each testing. Look at the Mazdas - only a few th's off Akmuq time at Cape

Im keeping my nose out of the VW issue - I'll wait til the races start and then decide. VW'S might not run away with it
