Vettel challenge - fed up and need gold

Please, before people moan about how i havnt searched the web for help because help is everywhere, and I suppose your all fed up of hearing about these challenges, please just read on!

I have been doing the vettel challenge constantly for about a week now and have nearly broke my controller, tv and skull on several occasions in rage at this stupid stupid challenge!!!

I have searched everywhere, looked at every "guide" on youtube and its still a complete joke. What were they thinking even putting this challenge into the game, its way too difficult!! Not only is it too difficult but I feel it ruins the game by putting this in! Try going back to a normal car after driving this for a week! The car isnt even a real car so it should not be in the game!

Everyone also says that a steering wheel is needed, but personally i think it would be harder, I think it would take too long to get used to and im not going to spend money on one just to gold these challenges. I condiser myself an exellent DS3 user and Ive always said I will keep using it but im getting so desperate now I will try anything APART from downgrade (so i can use the glitches).

Now, I have managed GOLD on Monza, and got SILVER on the Nurburgring with a time of 2:08.566 (gold being 2:08), and I havent even attemped Suzuka yet. It takes me forever just to complete two laps, always going off the track!!

As Ive said I have done this contantly and just not getting anywhere, personally it seems its all about luck rather than skill, the car is way too fast and the grip is too much, so you just cannot react in time to get perfect lines and/or correct even slight mistakes. For example I can do half a lap perfect then the next corner take wrong and lose half a second and then ruins my time for gold, so restart then the corner I lost time on I get it 100% perfect then the next corner fails me! I can do every corner perfect, just not all together over two laps! I just do not have the concentration for this ****.

To be honest this is my last resort, I really really wanted to gold them without help or come begging for it, I know I am a really good driver and this is all Ive got to do to get platinum. But I am just so desperate now it kills me to admit failure!

Im asking please anyone if there any any cheats / glitches anything I can do to pass these (I am on the latest version) or any proper solid ways of beating the times. As ive said I have looked up every guide I can find, and feel i cannot practice anymore after doing nearly a week of nurburgring solid!

Honeslty im that desperate ill pay for someone to come to my house and do it for me. I want platinum!

Any help PLEASEE??!!
 
If you delete the game data (not the save data - that's your game save!) it deletes all the patches. This means you can use all the breakout spots and do the cheaty, under-track cycling to complete it in a few seconds.

The downside is you then have to redownload all the patches and you're looking at 6Gb of them now...

I thought PD put something in where the game would freeze if you downgraded in the 2.05 patch.
 
LOL, just when I thought I heard it all, I come across this. There is no need to have to pay someone to do these for you. I do agree with you about the car and the challenges, you still have to do them for the platinum. If you pay someone to do them for you or otherwise glitch them, then you really don't deserve the trophy. I had a hard time with these too, but eventually got them. Just keep at it and don't get fustrated.

Firstly, that is one of the most ridiculous things I've ever read. Not on this site - EVER.

If they did do such a thing, which it's patently obvious that they haven't, they'd have to have done so by way of a patch (it won't be on the original disc version, since v2.05 postdates the disc by about 12 months). So when you delete the game data, which deletes all the patches, how would it still exist to cause that effect?

They are annoying to be sure, Suzuka especially in my case. I'm average at this game, at best but I persisted and got Gold on them eventually. Practise is the only way you will do it, hours and hours of going off the track eventually paid off for me. It's something I will never attempt again, it was the bane of my existence for months, great feeling when you do it the right way though. 👍

I think it only gives you an error message if your current car is from 2011 / 2012 or if your drivers got any gear from 2011 equipped.

I hear you there. I had nightmares about these challenges till I finally golded them, lol. Almost felt like I had won the lottery or something, lol.
 
Wow. Another person encouraging someone to cheat. And even a Mod at that... Cheaters should have the game taken away from them.

Yes, the Vettel challenge is difficult to the point where it just gets dumb. But cheating is no way to go about it. If you find yourself getting too frustrated, take a break.
 
As strange as this sounds slow down... When you try and go all out, you mess up go off the track slightly and end up having to restart. Slow down get used to making around the track in the X1 learn the corners/car abilities and then start to push a little..

I must say that I do also disagree with cheating, its just that I feel this challenge is too crazy, and the times to match just make it seem impossible. If the times were changed slightly I'd be happy.

Just managed to gold nurburgring there, completely blitzed my last time - got 2:07.462! More than a second!

It seems that the best (and possibly luckiest) way of doing this is brake extremely late at the tight chicane, line up as best as you can and just batter your way through the moveable objects and hope the car doesn't go out of control, then the same for the second lap - will be even faster because the objects are not there - I was behind the ghost at this part then all of a sudden I was way in front.

Now for suzuka... please god let me do this!!
 
Good luck Macca, I'd conveniently forgotten about this challenge and the fact I only have three bronzes. Now you've done it, with no hope of improving my Lugana Seca Evo TT time I might have to give it another go...or shall I do what I planned and get the dreaded endurance races out of the way? decisions decisions.

Can't you read? He was asking for cheat, no one is encouraging anyone. I am not sure who is more annoying the cheaters or all the crying princesses? Cheating was always and will always be part of the human history, face it or continue your crying but you won't change a thing

you have two options:

1) drive better and get gold
2) play the game and forget about trophies, which are only included for the likes of you obsessive types anyway.

Seriously, I'd put it down for a while and come back later. Or just borrow and copy someone's USB stick who has already gotten platinum. Then you can say you got platinum, and your self-respect will suffer no more than if you used the cheats.:rolleyes:

You do know its not a REAL trophy, don't you?:lol:
 
I solved this problem by ignoring the challenge and ignoring the fantasy X cars completely.

I'm also missing trophies for any enduro longer than 4 hours.

And I haven't even golded all the license tests.

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever gotten 100% on any game I've ever played. Guess I'm just not that serious about games.
 
Instead of practicing within the Special Event, go into Practice mode and keep cranking out laps. If you mess up, just get back on track and keep practicing. When in the Event if you DQ it makes you start all over. Seeing the DQ is kinda discouraging too, at least for me.
 
I have not even bronzed these yet, and would be plenty happy with even silver.

For gold you must have a wheel, and I guess put in about 100 hours of practice, so I hear.

Erroneous on both counts

There is a thread full of people who have beat it with DS3. Many people in a few days. or a week.

Its really not that hard. its just practice. do it for a half an hour every day. and the tenths will fall away. ITs not a hard concept to grasp! Practice makes perfect!
 
Try doing endurance races in the same car...after a while it starts to feel a bit slower as you get used to doing longer stints in it. Should be an easy win but just keep trying to better your lap times.
 
I just hope PD separate Wipeout and GT6 :lol: I'v done those with DS3 and never after that toutched X1 :yuck:
 
Use the RA function to adjust the brake bias 3/8 from memory Abs 7. Tcs 1. Srf on. Steering on 7. Will make a big difference.

But your save consists of data which refers to things in patches which have been deleted, suits for example would be stored on the save but wouldn't exist in the game so it's not that stupid to think that the game would freeze.

Anyway back to the original post, you just need to practice it's that simple and try to learn from your mistakes. Do you think a formula 1 driver is born as fast as they are?

There's a wide chasm of difference between "PD programmed it to freeze if you downgraded" and "If you try and hop in a DLC GT-R Black Edition on v1.02, the game has a paddy".
