UNTIL SEASON STARTS

Welcome to the Mazda MX-5 Racing Club.

Come join us for some friendly, clean & competitive racing. We will be hosting a championship over 5 weeks on some short and technical tracks, perfect for these little roadsters. We are looking for clean racers who are up for some fun racing. If you think you got what it takes then leave your PSN ID or send one to CHRYSTALBUDS.

The cars will be split into 3 different classes A,B & C. Class A has a 265 bhp limit, Class B 215bhp and Class C has 165bhp limit. Only 1st and 2nd Gen. standard models are allowed, there is no limit on tuning as long as you meet the group restrictions, which can be found below.
Cars which are allowed and cars that are not can be found here

All races/meets/practice sessions, will take place in the MMRC Lounge. PSN FR's should be sent to MMRC_RacingLobby, This account will only be online to send and receive friend requests. If you dont understand how to find the MMRC Racing Lobby just ask and I will explain.

The most important thing here is that we have fun, that means clean & fair racing. If you cause someone to lose a place by bumping into them then it is only fair that you let them regain their position.

Ok signed you up. 👍

Sweet! But like I said, work might interfere. I work every Sunday, but at different times so we'll see. Thanks though!

Sign me up . Psn, is the same as my user name on here .
Thanks

Ok mate.

Still hoping for some more members before even thinking about setting a starting date for the season.

I May even change it to Mazda Racing Club if we dont get enough heads.

Still I will send you a FR on PSN and we can try a few things out if you want.

I loved the MX5s in I-racing. I have never raced in a GT5 series but have been thinking about starting. Sign me up. I should be able to make it no problem except for this sunday.

Ok look foward to meeting you on the track.

BTW what is your PSN ID?

Got the car ready just. But quick question , i can only find the 1.6 models were can i find the 1.8.

What would be the best days and times for these events to take place for everyone?

For me, during the day on Fridays is the only time I'd be able to make every race, but I know that is inconvenient for the majority of people, so I have no preference. My work schedule changes every week.

I have loads of the 1.8 models. I will send one over in the morning.

And specific model you would like.

1st or 2nd Generation?

I was going to do the races on Sundays 8pm (GMT) but I will not be able to make that anymore.

I could probably make fridays but maybe not every friday.

Which time zone are you in?

Update
I've also made a few adjustments to the Car Classes. I think that they are more balanced now and will allow all models to compete in the same class.

All tuning upgrade are allowed except for Rear Wing aero kits.

I'm in EST time, kind of far off, so we'll see how everything works out!

Haha yeah I am going to be busy aswell trying to fit these races in but I will manage.

You may have noticed I used the same tracks that you use for the MX-5 TC. Hope you dont mind. :sly:

Hi there, your club sounds great. Although I don't think I can sign up cause I already race on sunday at 8pm but if I knew the time you we're planning to start the races on Sunday I could say for sure.
Also was wondering why you prefered to go with heavy damage ?. The reason I ask is the races are pretty short and any sort of major damage would mean having to pit meaning your about 30sec - 1min behind. I realise heavy damage gets people to drive that bit more safely but with these cars being pretty slow it means close racing and one mistake could cause chaos.

Hi, thanks for you comment.

I also race at 8pm on a sunday so I cant do that time either. How does 6pm sunday sound?

And thanks for you input on the heavy damage thats the kind of info I need.

I've never organized a club before and have only recently started racing in them. If you think it would be better for light damage or even no damage then I am more than happy to try that out.

Cheers.

Yeah 6pm works for me, I personally would go with Light Damage ( Reason - you still get punished for a mistake, but not so much that your totally out of the race ) and I would turn off visual damage ( Reason - It's ment to help connection ... ). But see what the other guys think aswell they might prefer heavy damage .... ;)

I would definitely take off visual damage, it seemed to help the ALMS series a little with lag. As for mechanical, I have no idea.

Do you have any of the 1.8's in an American version. I only race in cockpit view and I'd like to get one with the drivers seat on the left.

Thanks

Ok Visual damage will be set to off and mechanical damage on light.

I will send one your way when I next get on my ps3.

Also how does 6pm (GMT+0), sunday sound for meeting up?

6 est will work for me most of the time...So the only difference between the classes now is the HP? I think it's a good call to allow the upgrades. That will let us tune them to the course but the car, by nature, allows for great racing.

I also wanted to add that I like the damage being set as high as possible. I really think it helps make people drive safer. Nothing like spending 3 or 4 laps in the pits and being out of the race to make you cleaner for the next one.

Looks good, I was just thinking it would be cool to run some Miata races for all of the standard versions of this great little car. If you decide to race on a day other than Sunday let me know, as I really only have time for 1 series commitment on Sunday, and that slot is already being filled. Would be interested if the day changed, good luck otherwise. 👍

The time is good, but I need to work closing shift this sunday so I'll sit it out.

gtplanet id : "luvtadrive" psn id: "livetiludye" please addme. FRalready done
PS - I drive a 96 1.8 w/pop.opt.pkg. 70kmiles. montego blue. Its af race kart of a ride.
