Motor City Tunes

Do you have a specific request? In the middle of a FITT Challenge right now then planning to tune a few Minis. What car did you have in mind?

I was thinking about the Dodge Challenger TC, Hami. I wanted to use the Challenger mainly in online races with limited PP (630 tops). Would be cool to the others too, like the Honda CRZ TC but take your time, mate. Cheers, Ray.

I have to say, your tunes are amazing, and your guides are pretty much perfect in terms of detail and comprehension. I find myself having to adjust my driving style, because I'm counter-steering like I usually have to, when in fact my car now has plenty of traction left.

I don't think that I can give you much higher praise than saying that you've made me have to change the way I drive to accommodate the improvements you've allowed me to make.

Wow! I am liking the Challenger TC. I have it in a nice bright green color. Super surprised that it has a decent front/rear balance right out of the box. Early into tuning it, but first impression is that I think there will be a lot of room for adjustment vs. the typical GT5 car that needs extreme settings to rid the understeer.

Thank you. I appreciate the kind words.

This car was built for the FITT Wagon/SUV Tuner Challenge at Deep Forest Raceway. These 4wd wagons are really difficult to remove all of the understeer. I went extremely aggressive with this tune. It drives very nice with my DS3, but with a wheel, it is a handful. Ride height proved to be very important at Deep Forest. Lower ride heights will struggle to keep up with the many hills and bumps on this circuit. Toe angle was also very useful to encourage rotation. I used quite a bit of it.

I have three of these and have never been happy enough with the tunes to post. I built a stock powered, a mid powered and a fully modded version. I should get back to tuning it and just post the versions. Sometime over this next month.

This car was built upon request from thewheelman83. Thank you so much for requesting this car. I have owned it since the DLC download in October of 2011, but never drove it. I have been missing out. It is a fantastic car. It didn't take long to build this tune and have it handling like on rails. This car has now been added to my favorites list. Wheelman, I went very aggressive with this tune, so if it ends up being a bit tail happy for you, there are many, many ways to tame it. Build one and take it for a drive or let me know if you'd like me to put mine on share. I would love to enter this thing into a racing series of like cars. Just fantastic.

I test drove mostly on Grand Valley Speedway, but with a quick final drive change, it will handle well on most tracks.

Hami, why did you not enter the Clubman S in the FITT Shootout? At 450PP, the thing is by far the quickest and rotated the best of the FF cars. I was running consistently 2 seconds faster than the next fastest one. I was able to pull a 1:21.6xx at one point. Amazing tunes you do, man.

I love the countryman tune hami. It won every mini seasonal without a problem. Thanks for sharing hami. I am going to use the other tunes as well.

Thanks guys. I like the Mini. I plan to do the events this weekend with the '98, with PP cranked as low as I can get it.

I just wasn't that happy with it and only had time to refine the Audi for the FITT shootout. Wish now I would have just thrown it out there. Thanks for the feedback.

I linked your garage in my posted tune at Clueless. I hope you don't mind :nervous:. I just decided to tune the ONE Mini you didn't :dopey:

I simply cannot race a yellow car. My first real race car was yellow and one of the first things that I did with that car was to sand all of that ugly yellow paint off the car and paint it green; obnoxiously bright green. So, if I owned a Yellow Bird, I would do the same; paint it green.

I have tried tuning this car about five times before, but could never get it quite right. I spent hours with this car in the past, but wasn't happy enough with the tune to post it. This week, I went back to square one and started fresh. Gained three seconds over the stock configuration just from the LSD tuning. This car is LSD dependent. I learned something else during this tuning session. The Yellow Bird will never be perfect, but it can be made more fun to drive. I can get pretty aggressive with this tune, but there is a line - step over it and she will bite.

Tuned on High Speed Ring and Grand Valley.

If you read the post above this one, you will know of my dislike for yellow cars. Since this tune is a maxed out Yellow Bird, I thought it deserved an evil title.

awesome, will try it.

on a note, i hate all the rufs in this game. i have them all now, except i havent driven the boxer yet as i dont consider it a real porsche. what seems true for all these cars is that they handle terrible when fully tuned to max power and least weight. especially the older models like the btr and the angry bird. the rgt and ctr2 are relativelly better but still not that great.

im even driving these cars with srf on and on racing softs (everything else off, cept abs1). im really starting to hate these cars fully tuned. i think im gonna give up trying to find a right tune for these cars and just use one of your guys tunes which are not tuned to the max.

what i dont get is ive owned 2 porsches, both the last model air cooled 911 carreras, one 4 and one 4s. both had great driving charactereristics, especially the 4s. i dont get how these cars in gt5 handle this bad. and why cant we add aero on cars that just wont grip to the ground no matter how hard you try. with a wing and front spoiler these cars could potentially made good drivers cars.

peace.

You deserve it Keith, you're quite welcome! 👍

I cranked the Mini Cooper S '11 tune down to 380PP last night and re-ran the Mini Seasonal. Cote d' Azur was super, super fun at this low PP level. I can see that becoming a go to event anytime I become bored with the game.

Yes, it is true. For me, the Super Car Festival Seasonal 620PP runing with a 550PP car is the same. :)
