FITT Tuner Car Shootout

To the FITT community, how have we gone this long without using this group of cars in a shootout? There is not one rotten banana in the bunch. The sign of a good tuning competition is in the difficulty in choosing a car to tune. As I drool over the list, I already know that I will post my two selections for the competition along with four or five other cars that are on my short list. Whether I can produce a podium finishing tune for this competition is irrelevant. The true prize will be the glow that this list of awesome tuned cars will bring to my garage.

Awards:
Top three on lap times
Top three on driver’s choice
Not mixed... separate rankings

Scoring:
Fastest lap calculations – A maximum of 10 points can be earned from lap times. The tune with the fastest average lap time across all testers will earn 10 points. All other tunes will earn their score based upon how close their average lap time is to the fastest tune. For example, if the fastest tune earned the average lap time of 1:21.688 and the 2nd fastest tune equates to 1:21.832, the 2nd place tune receives 9.988 points (121.688 divided by 121.832 *10 = 9.988). Another example, if the fastest tune earned the average lap time of 1:21.688 and the slowest tune equates to 1:27.271, the slowest tune receives 9.56 points (121.688 divided by 127.271*10 = 9.56). This method of scoring rewards tunes for being very close to the front and will keep the lap time portion of the competition very close.

Driver’s choice - Each tester will score each tune on the scale listed below. Driver’s choice scores will then be averaged across all testers. The maximum number of DC bonus points that can be earned is ten points. Please choose driver’s choice on a scale of 0.0 to 10.0.

Car Sharing:
All Tuners are responsible for placing their car on share as written up in their tune, or making arrangements with one of the F.I.T.T. car hosts to place it on share. Friend requests are the responsibility of the tuners.

8655884272_f1778945c8_m.jpg

Testers:
Volunteers - Anyone can volunteer as a test driver. For all volunteer test drivers (non-tuners), you will receive any car under one million credits, five paints and five museum cars.

Test Settings - Offline in A-Spec Free Run, TCS off, Skid Force Recovery off, ASM off, ABS 1, tire wear/fuel consumption off, grip reduction real, mechanical damage none.

Results - Test Drivers results should all be placed in one post here with notifications posted when that results are updated. All Test Drivers must submit the fastest lap time for each car/track combination and a Drivers Choice ranking for all cars in each group they test.

8654780041_678de0c064_m.jpg

Prizes and Awards:
Whatever anyone wants that is tradable in the game. Now that we can make $20MM in a few minutes, my credits keep filling up and I already own most of the cars. I am deleting paints to make room for items. Museum cards and gear don’t interest me either. The biggest reward is the joy of participating and winning anyway.

Deadlines:
Tuner Entry are open from now until Sunday, May 5th, (Midnight, wherever you live). Tuners who have confirmed entry must post their tune either within this thread or in their own garages with a direct link to the tune posted here before this deadline.

Test Drivers Results must be posted no later than Thursday, May 23, (Midnight, wherever you live).

Note: Extensions or exceptions to the above listed deadlines may be issued at the event sponsors discretion. However, it is up to the participants that they do everything possible to meet the listed deadlines as extensions or exceptions will only be granted under extenuating circumstances. Assigning deadlines after a weekend seems very reasonable.

8655884260_18f9fa41aa_m.jpg

This is a Federation of International Tuners and Test-Drivers sanctioned event.
F.I.T.T. rules will be used for this event. Any event specific rules and all deadlines are listed above.

I had tons of fun with this shootout. Great cars. Closest finish yet. Thanks to everyone who submitted a tune, tested or just stopped by for some conversation.

Twin RUF entry for me. Probably RGT and CTR2. The CTR2 isn't behaving how I want it to right now though.

I will add you. Have you entered these cars in FITT competitions in the past? If so, just hoping that people will enter refined versions and not submit the exact tunes from previous competitions.

The more time I spend with cars, the better they seem to get. We have three weeks to tune. Enjoy the time.

Planning to open some rooms with tire wear and fuel consumption this weekend. I will post the room number in this thread if anyone wants to break in cars or just race a bit with these cars/PP levels.

The RGT is an old warhorse of a tune, but I'm going to take another stock car and fiddle with the settings from scratch I think.

The CTR2 is completely new, having trouble with it, understeering and oversteering at the same time...

I'll be testing again. Please send FR's to iainoflo85 if you haven't already done so. Though I think I have everyone who might enter on that accounts Friends List.

Like I mentioned in the FITT thread, Premium BLiTZ ER34 and the 270R for me. My existing tune for the ER34 hasn't been updated in forever so I'll have to fix it up anyway.

I would love to test again. I might also tune in the 490PP class. I cant choose between the 270R or the Nismo 350Z S-Tune. I should decide by the end of tomorrow, Hami.

Wow. Great turn out so far. This is a great car list. I cannot decide. So far I have slapped basic tunes on about nine cars and taken them for quick drives. This PP system just doesn't make any sense. The cars with the lightest weight and the most power are actually slower than many of the lower powered or heavier cars. The one that I like most so far can only reach 572PP.

Oh this is going to be fun.

If anyone manages to get tunes up before the tuner deadline, I'd be happy to run some laps with them as soon as possible. Not to rush anyone, but I'm really needing something to fill my GT5 time, done everything I need to do offline now, so FITT shootouts give me something to do, and new cars to try.

I'll try and get my CTR2 up today, I need a second opinion on it anyway.

I'm in for both PP :D
My PSN is. GTP_NEWDRIVER2 where I will share my cars and send FR req for the testers.
Thank you MCM for adding the spoon :dopey:

The Nismo Skyline GT-R S-tune (R32) '00 4WD is very good at 490PP too, with around 90% Power limiter. It can cover all the PP range.
The car is not so pleasant at 575PP.

As I make decisions on cars I could post and share some of my rejects.

I'll take a shot at the S2000 R1 in the 490 class. Underpowered for this track but with lots of grip. Might enter a 575, have to take a closer look.

I'm all in! :dopey:

I'm in for the RE FD in the 575 class but I have to see what I have in my garage for the 490. Maybe the Mine's Evo or one of the Opera cars. Also put me down for testing. 👍
