Hey do you happen to have a tune for the nsx r prototype lm road car fully maxed out? I've been working on mine for a while and still can't get it good.

I own that car, but have not driven it yet. Maybe try my NSX-R Concept '01 tune on it, if you are in a hurry for a tune?

Posting this tune upon request from Greenhill. Love this car. Can't believe that it has been forgotten about in the back of my garage for quite a few months. Thanks for recommending taking it for another spin. I plan to refine this tune in online racing rooms over the next few months. Watch for updates.

And a maxed out version for Greenhill. It is a bit darty on turn in, so keep the speed up. You can get very, very aggressive with this tune.

Hey Hami. I won't steel your thread with boring details, but last weekend I got to take a friends car for a ride (fail!). In between heats I asked my wife to take some pics of the pace car, knowing someone here on GTP would enjoy the color.... enjoy

Mustang Boss 302 in Gotta Have it Green?

Not as easy as it looks in real life, is it. There is something to getting the mind to understand that the can really does have enough grip to take the corner that fast. All instinct says to slow down, then you tend to turn in late or brake too late then sideways and around.

What track is that? I have spent a lot of time around circle tracks, both dirt and asphalt. My cousin, John Boy Hotchkiss, races in the Auto Value Super Sprints. I was crew for him for a few races around Michigan. 800 hp, 1200 lb winged sprints. Fast, fast, fast.

The track is Madison International Speedway. My home track for over ten years, but due to issues (family, money, and time) I sold all my stuff years ago.

I live about ten miles from the track, and my former crewmens' (owner of the yellow car) wife went into labor, he knew I could be there quick....*cuts long story of the race*... but I had fun!

I also did "road racin'" at Road America and Mid-Ohio in my Classic AMC....but that was so many dollars years ago...

It's fun though, isn't it :dopey:

Hami, How do you spec miata racers keep the bumper covers from dimpling with all of the contact/ bump drafting? Do you whip out the heat gun or reattach the foam bumper support after every race?

Amazingly, there is some cushion (air gap) between the bumper cover and the bumper itself. It creates a nice spring loaded effect and shoots the bumped car forward.

I crashed at the end of the last season, thus the new paint job. I can't believe how hard we can hit stuff and only damage body panels, but not structure. That is dangerous knowledge for me to have now. I'll be thinking, "aw screw it... it's only sheet metal."

Very true! Nothing wrong with using the chrome horn when you need to! Just remember all the hard work you put in to make that car look great. Have you missed any races at your track yet? I raced a few at New Paris in Indiana and that usually started around end of April. Either way, best of luck and keep us updated!

Sorry FITT members. Again I have blown off my testing responsibilities to do this...

My 4 year old son was thrilled to see his name on the car as the co-driver. He sits on my lap on the drive over to grid and I let him steer.

I will resume my testing duties after the big race weekend at MIS.

Your Miata looks great, I was wondering though, in which series do you race it, and what modifications does that series allow you to make?

Thanks. I race in Spec Miata in Sports Car Club of America. We can't change much. Spec tires, suspension & gear ratio. Stock Ecu, intake, exhaust header and air box. Can use aftermarket exhaust, air filter, spark plugs and wires. Some engine head work is allowed, but very little - all in the valve chamber and decking the head for more compression. No porting or port matching.

Car felt great today. If I just settle down and relax a bit, I might have a slim shot at the podium. 25 entries. Should be really competitive.

Had 2nd and 3rd gear most of the time today. A couple of 9th place finishes today of 25 entries. I wanted to end the weekend with a top ten.

I did kill about 5 cones in the finals. Drug one for the final ten laps and took it with me right to tech. The workers got a big kick out of it.

Hahaha... nice one, Hami. I like the paintjob on your Miata, it's exactly the same shade as the GT Fluorescence 004-W, which i used to paint the Challenger TC. :D
By the way, did you get to keep the cone, Hami? It'll will make a nice memento or "trophy" on your cabinet... :P

awsome updates. What made the tran fail? Congrats on the top10!

The driver made the trans fail. 125 mph in a Miata was not meant to happen. Give us a long enough straight and a heavy enough foot and we will try to get there. I was downshifting too early and overheated the trans. Toward the last quarter of the race, it wouldn't go into third at the end of the long straight and with corner approaching fast, rather than ditching the downshift, I pushed a bit harder to get it into gear. Probably bent a shift fork or a syncro?
