My apologies for the Double Post, but I didn't thing it was a good idea to add this link to my prior post :)

Totally tongue in cheek, funny as hell and more importantly no beer was harmed in the making of the video!

I hope you enjoy this :)

All pavement is on-track, unless there is a rumble strip, in which case the pavement behind the rumble strip is out-of-bounds. So the yellow-striped areas are in-bounds.

This also means that you can cross the white line before the chicane. The wall is the boundary there. But in the first tunnel, there is a rumble strip on the inside, so the sidewalk beyond it is out-of-bounds. Putting more than 2 wheels (completely) over warrants a penalty.

I have 516 PP, too. If I were you, I'd make doubly sure by joining my own lobby and setting the Tuning to "Prohibited" and then trying to enter the track. For cars I've tuned in the past, I sometimes find out that there's still something tuned on it. If it works then, you'll be fine on Sunday.
Thanks man I'll try that right quick and see what happens.

Thank PH7, I share this title with you. If you are doing 2:33 on Trial Mountain then you're in trouble. Actually you should be doing 1:33, a good time! Congratulations for the promotion and congratulations also to friends who came from Division 4 to Division 3, JJ Lopes, O10231994 and Chatva, see you on Sunday in Division 3!

PS. I will not soon forget the 0,011!

 I mean 1:33s, forgot oil change though first run on Wednesday will try tommorow as well.

And yes, I'll be selling them - but not for money. The "BIG" idea I referenced above is basically to create a S.N.A.I.L. marketplace where services performed are compensated, and where goods are bought and sold. We'll essentially be creating our own economy with our own currency and the whole nine yards. It won't be ready for prime time for another month, but when it launches I expect it to be pretty cool!

Oh my! Looking forward to this. 👍

Yeah I'm pretty excited too! The guys who should be the most excited are those on Team S.N.A.I.L. since they will essentially be "paid" for their work! The stewards in particular will have lots of "earning potential" since they will receive compensation for every racing incident that they review. Another top-paying position will be the data specialists because they'll be compensated for every race they enter data for (and there are always six races every week :)). I know I'm leaving a lot of the details out, but please let me know if anyone has any questions about how this will work and I'll do my best to explain it further.

Many hands make light work!

Thanks for posting this, cheeb! I've just updated the Team S.N.A.I.L. post to reflect the changes in assignments that resulted from promotion and relegation.

Everyone please keep in mind what I mentioned above when considering these positions. You will start being compensated next month for helping the league. However, to be in that position, you'll need to have a spot on Team S.N.A.I.L. (and that won't happen if somebody else fills the position you want before you do. :sly:

Yo guys I've been thinking and i want to try to get a racing wheel, but i don't know what to get and i really don't want to spend $100s on one, any help Or info, thanks

Having played GT5 with a DFGT exclusively for a year and a half, and after purchasing my G27 last January through Amazon for $189, I would advise bypassing the DFGT and putting the money towards a G27, no matter the cost. Of course, if you had $500+ to spend I'd say move on up to one of the other brands.

Something interesting about the G27 I saw yesterday and has been expanded since with some instructions on how to proceed is here.

I'll be testing this out today and will report back what I find.

Oh, I'll have to dispute that no beers were harmed. I'm betting some, probably right around 6, beers were slaughtered and sent down the drain before, during and after the making of that video. ;)

Sorry Goat, didn't realize, will update the Drivers List and the classifieds, thanks for helping out 👍

I agree, I start playing F1 2010 and GT5 with a DFGT, once you've run with a higher quality wheel, you'll not want to go back. As has been said, the DFGT works just fine and you'll likely enjoy it, but it does like a lot compared to the G27 et al.

If by drain, you mean someones throat, it was their destiny. If by drain you mean drain, then I concur

Mopar,

Be careful on deals. The deal I got from Amazon seemed awesome but the external vendor gigged me pretty hard for shipping and I didn't pay attention well enough to notice. Still was a decent price even after getting the shaft on shipping.

Yes I did mean drain, not throat. ;)

FYI, several of us - I believe 5-6 - are getting together at 2 pm on Saturday for a 'preview' session for Monday's Performance Cap Racing (Snail D3 Lounge).

https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/showthread.php?t=273868

Basically, choose any untuned/broken in car you want.

This event will run with a combined PP cap of: 1770* PP
(Sports Medium Tires on all your cars*)

All cars PP must be between 398 and 487

The composition of your group of 4 cars must include:

1 Front engine Front wheel drive - FF
1 4 wheel drive (any engine layout) - 4WD
1 Front engine Rear wheel drive - FR
1 Mid engine Rear wheel drive (A Rear engine Rear wheel drive counts) - MR/RR

This series is a lot of fun, very relaxed, and uses a variety of tracks. The winner of each race chooses next track from a variety of choices, see Perf Cap thread link above for details.

* There are racers in almost every division. Heck, they let ME race with them! We can make allowances to tighten the gap - I get to upgrade my tires (I get Sport Softs this week), others get bonus PP points. It's relaxed, but we want it to be reasonably close, so... it's a 'handicap as needed' for the back of the field.

Give it a shake - you won't regret it.

I guess I get the best of both worlds. We have the best fishing in the US, we have the best NHL team in the past 2 decades, and one of the originals as well, more of us say eh then y'all. And we do the best mirco brewing. And for some reason everyone from other states seems to think we are southern Canada...

btw, Panda, great video response. Mericka!

Anyone rocking the G27, look at this!!! It is possible to change the wheel rotation setting from 900, to 650ish, to 210, even 180 degrees of rotation! Great damn find man!

Didnt have to buy one car this week! but I did anyway. got a new Lambo, my other was out of the UCD, so it had a few miles on it. Zero miles is better I'd say.

No kidding! Can't wait to try this out! The 'O' setting looks like exactly what I've been looking for in most cars.

This makes me wonder what other hidden settings there might be. I might have to experiment... :mischievous:

I'd like to take a moment to highlight two recommendations from your fellow snails:

If you don't have anything planned tonight or just looking for a good time, please read this.

And if you'd like to take your sim racing experience to the next level, please consider this.

When does the season for the corvette RM end for the Saturday enduro series? Or is is the same car for every season?

Next week is the last week of Season 11 which features the Corvette RM. They have used a different car for every season so I'm sure Season 12 will be no different. :)

Check out all the details here. I highly recommend racing with them and experiencing their one-of-a-kind format. It allows for all of the tire management and pit strategy of an endurance race, while also preventing the cars from getting too spread out (which usually happens in endurance races). But because of their format, you'll find yourself fighting for positions on the track throughout the night. 👍

Ill be posting a picture soon sometime tommorow of my buttkicker gamer 2 setup. And let me tell you, once I figured it out, oh man!! This thing is amazing!! So glad i got it! I really reccomend anybody who wants to improve their driving sim racing experience to get the buttkicker gamer 2! You really feel the car way more around the track.
