Anyone know how they compare to NFSU2 and GT4? I hope there competitive with GT4, but maybe abit easier, that way, its abit more fun right off the bat. Although, welp idk. How are they!?

I once likened them to semis on ice. Getting the car to rotate and transition between drifts feels like trying to redirect a glacier, and there doesn't seem to be much flexibility in terms of angle. Also, it's too difficult to find the right speed and keep from running off on the outside or inside.

I want to say NFSU2's drift physics were better, but that's not saying a whole lot. I'd definitely consider NFSPS's drift physics an improvement over the illogical travesty that were NFSC's drift "physics," though. I'm not sure how to relate GT4 to any of the others, considering GT4's flaws and strengths are so different from the NFS games.

In short, if you're looking for realism, look elsewhere. If you're looking for fun, look elsewhere, or play the other modes in NFSPS (the "grip" racing isn't too bad).

IMO they are useless. Its too easy to get in a slide, you have absolutely no control of the car, only throttle makes a slight difference. And dont expect to stop if you're heading for a wall either. But you'll never get you're car in a good slide anyway. Go past about an 85~ degree slide and the counter stops the score. Ive gone around 100~ degrees, and somehow managed to get back straight with spinning. But my effort was pointless. The speed when drifting is absolutely 🤬 as well. If you go too slow, you dont get any points and if you do, you'll only get around 100 or so. Go too fast, and you will slide until you reach the finish line, but of course which means, no points. And, if you stop a few meters before the finish line, take a run up to get a few points, it dosent work either.

I love drifting in "grip" racing. You have full control of your car, and you need a certain skill to slide. I would've been much happier if the drift physics were the same as "grip".

IMO, NFS:PS Drift Physics = Fail.

Noob.......

Picc84, I don't really know how to compare the drift physics of NFSPS to NFSU2 and GT4. Each game has a different drift physics to each other. But I think Pro Street has improved a lot since Carbon, and has quite a realistic feel to it. Unlike NFSU2, you actually have to counter steer your car when you drift, which is what real drifters do. But the physics in itself is not the best, and can be quite difficult to master. Trust me, I played the game a lot and I still snap under steer and hit a wall..... :ouch: If you want the best drift physics, just play GT3. Its the best drift physics on any console!!!

But like turbo lag said:
NFS:PS Drift Physics = Fail. 👎

You guys are wierd, it's the drift physics they've done the best, and everything else is crap. The drifting may not be entirely realistic but it's more so than the other modes and still fairly fun once you master the track.

Again... there's no such thing as drift physics, when are people gonna get that thru their heads?! :cough: EA are you listening? :cough:

As for this game...

FAIL

Agreed with V1P3R Below. Well the physics are love or hate. Some people can pwn with them, and some people cant do anything with em. Why cant EA get anything right these days? :nervous:

In all fairness... I think there are other games other than EA that have "tried" to do "drift physics" only because the gamer/ricer nOObs pleaded with game companies and so they need to be told too that there is no such thing.

Games like Need for Speed need more than one set of physics if they're going to have a dedicated "drift mode." The high-speed highway driving would be difficult if the cars slid around all of the time, and the drift competitions would be impossible if the cars exhibited nothing but stable threshold understeering (as they do in the highway racing).

Just look at Project Gotham Racing. The physics engines in each game blend driftiness with stability quite nicely and are a lot of fun to play, but would fail at the high-angle D1-style smoke shows that NFS is attempting to replicate. The cars just have too much grip.

I was really angry they don't let us use 4WDs in Drift mode. It restricts the choice severely, and the physics would surely allow 4WD drift. If only a 4WD could pop a wheelie, I'd just run a fleet of 4 Escorts.

It's like that as D1 pro drifting events do NOT allowed 4wd drifting as it's seen as an easier form of drifting. Personally i find the phychics ridiculously easy, but harder then trash like Carbons feutile attempts at drifting. Only the tokyo dockyard tracks provide any true challenge, and even them are easily mastered for me. Just takes a few events to get used to the drifting and you should do fine.

the drift physics suck.., heck, it didn't even came close to the word "drifting".., it sucks, the whole game sucks.., street racing games are supposed to be "illegal" wherein cops chase you while in the race, not "organised".., the gameplay sucks, the graphics suck, the whole game sucks.., EA, once again you have disappointed.., :indiff::indiff:👎
