What edition(s) of GT5 will you purchase?

So it looks like GT5 will be sold in 3 flavors.

Standard Edition
Collectors Edition
édition ultime

Which one is everybody planning on buying?

BTW the poll is multiple choice for anyone who wants more than 1 edition of the game.
 
Im going to try and get the CE but I will most likely pre order the standard edition.

Ill be happy as long as I get the 5 special pre order cars.
 
Ultimate collectors limited absolut edition.
 
Oh, I never read I could choose multiple but I voted for Ultimate but also I will get standard to be the disc that I use so I can keep the other disc and case in perfect condition.
 
What is in the ultimate edition? and for how much?
 
For some crazy reason, I feel "mysterious" and "$200 purchasing decision" are not a good mix. Which was my whole point. ;)

Voted for the Ultimate Edition. I'll definately be buying the best edition because I can't think of a game I'm more passionate about this generation.
 
I would of been getting the Ultimate Edition, but I'm purchasing a Logitech G27 wheel, wheel stand pro, a nice leather chair, and a good sound system all for GT5. If I already had all this I would def go for the Ultimate. It better come packed with something pretty good for $200.

Likely the standard. Have to still wait of for ultimate edition contents.

Regular. I've already got numerous car models built in the room!
 
Collector's Edition as it has been preordered for 2 weeks now.

I'm just waiting on seeing what the Ultimate contains, but at the moment its the Collectors Edition I'm getting
 
As I don't expect the basic content to be different on a limited edition and the only things you'll get are GT-branded key-rings and GT-liveried modelcars, etc. I'll stick with the regular one thank you very much.

If I wanted a modelcar I'll choose and buy one myself and there isn't anything more uncool in my opinion than a usable item like a keyring being branded with a game logo ( no matter how much I like GT ).

I already have 2 ( in my opinion quite tasteful ) modelcars in my livingroom which largely get frowned upon by visitors, even having a game console in my living room wasn't being judged to be a positive sign by some friends ( until they got to play and were amazed by the current generation of games ) and having items around with GT badges is pushing it too far even by my own standards.

And last but not least, the frankly enormous price hike over the regular game ( the difference is enough to buy a huge number of keyrings/modelcars I actually might like if I wanted to, which I don't ) makes any urges I might have had quickly go away.
To be honest, if they had released 2 regular versions ( not limited ) where one included most future DLC or hypothetically only offered Premium cars and tracks I would definitely go for the more expensive one.:)

And as far as the GT keychain, even though its from a video game, its not that bad considering the history that Gran Turismo has with racing, especially them sponsoring things such as race cars and seen in events like the Le Mans 24 hour. Having a Call of duty keychain would be different.

Sure if that's what you want, to me these things ( especially since you have to pay handsomely for this privilege ) don't matter much.
I've never bought into this whole special edition thing regarding anything not just games.
Never bought a special edition of a music-album, movie, book, etc. not because I wasn't a fan or admirer of these artists but it always felt like cashing in by the publisher ( and not adding much to the experience ).
Some might think otherwise and really feel it adds something and that's fine by me ( and some added content might be adding to the experience, but not necessarily be worth the asking price for me ).
Just trying to say that going for the regular version doesn't mean missing out on something significant or being less of a fan or not acknowledging the history of GT.:)

Rubbish. If the "collectors edition" just had those words printed on the cover, didn't have the extras, yet cost more than the standard version, a lot of those people would leave it on the shelf. Special Editions are all about the extras, or why bother?

Actually, if there is a European collector's edition, I'll be getting that for the book. Is (what will probably be) £70-£80 a bad deal for a quality game that I am likely to get significant mileage (no pun intended) from? That also doesn't account for a decent, 300 page strategy guide on tuning, driving techniques and so on (which is what I want the most), a relatively pricey model car, as well as a few extra bits. Of course, these bits may be tac-ons, but if I had to pick one gaming brand to produce quality wherever it goes, surely Gran Turismo is a worthy choice?

So, although £80 (potentially) is a large number for a video game, I personally do not feel as though I would be getting anything less than a great deal, unlike a certain Square-Enix game of late, whose limited edition turned out to be a 'sample' soundtrack and an artbook for £60... That, in my opinion, was not such a good deal.

So why do so many people get special editions of stuff and keep them in the sealed package unopened? Its almost about having them as a prized possession and not so much as 'extra stuff to play with'. Not saying thats what I do, but alot of people actually do think that way. And of course I'm talking about a collectors edition with items included, not just words printed on the front "limited edition", but even at that, there would be people that would still pay extra for it.

I would indeed have to be a "special edition" myself to consider that a good deal, and even being one ( which some say I am apparantly ) I wouldn't buy into that ( or buying it at all if it included extras only unique for wearing GT-logos and the collected value being far less than the price difference ).:)
 
I have the Collectors Edition on Pre-Order at the Moment. However, should the price and content of the Ultimate Edition prove attractive, I will change my pre-order to that.
