To me a "special" or "collectors" edition needs to warrant the extra money it costs to buy the game..
If it gives me extra value for paying the extra price, then I'm sold..
I wouldn't throw down my money for every "limited editions etcetera".. but if it enhances my enjoyment, or makes me feel like I get more deeper into a certain series. Then I am willing to pay the price.
But If it is a new series, or a game I'm buying for the sake of getting a "new" game.. I don't fork over the extra money. Its mainly because there are so many companies out there that would throw out a sub standard "collectors edition" just to cash in on consumers who automatically think that because you pay extra means "thats the best version because it costs more"...
