Season 2 Announcement
Season 2 is going to be a SuperGT (500hp class) at various real world tracks. I am going to reset signups, so you must either private message me or respond in this thread with your car selection and I will add you to the driver list. Car list as follows:

There will be NO TUNING PARTS allowed and all races will be run on RACING SOFT tires. These cars cost $950k each in the GT5 dealership and you will not have to spend any more than that. Course list is set (see below), but we will run as we have been on Thursday nights at 7PM EST. There will be a 15 min practice session, 10 min qualifying, and ~20 - 30 minute race. I am flexible in those times if people are running a few minutes late, but I try to have everything done by 8PM. All races are about 100km and should take about 30 mins to complete.

After the conclusion of each race I will post the results and replay file on the website in my signature. (I probably won't be doing race recaps anymore as they were kind of a pain).

Points will be according to real SuperGT points sytem: 20/15/11/8/6/5/4/3/2/1. (+2 point bonus for pole sitter.)

1st Place Prize: $200,000 car of choice.
2nd Place Prize: $100,000 car of choice.

Races in the past have been fairly clean, but I am thinking of instituting a penalty system of -2 points per infraction (punting, corner cutting, etc.). I have not fully decided if I want to do this yet.

You will be able to use all assists except for Skid Force Recovery.

All races will be run in my private lounge (AKA the coffee cup) for easy access.

**UPDATE** During the first race we found out that tires WILL NOT last the whole race (even race hards) so we will no have a mandatory pit stop that must be taken during the middle 3 laps of the race.

OK, I have one other person interested that has PM'd me. I would think with all of the visitors to this site we would get more people involved. Hopefully we can get at least 6 by the end of the week so we can start it next week.

Also I am thinking of starting with just the lower power cars at first so that we can have time to get our Tom's Supra's and Calsonic Skylines for the higher power series :)

And I am thinking of making the lower power series a JDM series. 276HP max but you can do any other mods to the JDM cars as long as they dont add power.
 
So I must be a little retard, Anyways, after about 20 min of looking for this thread I found it again. Anyways, here I am, and I am that other guy that PMed batman about racing. I have a G27 wheel and I race most evenings. I may soon change and create a new account for the GTP_races and so I will notify you all again.

Come on people lets get this thing started, I know that we can have lots of fun online with serious races, or goofie races. Like a 2 lap race on dytona with the gokarts, that will be awesome, if even possible.

Anyways, if you see me online, let me know and we can play. And please lets try and have clean races. I do not mind pass blocking but I hate those who do not brake in turns just to crash you.

Does weeknights around 7 PM EST (-5 GMT) work for you, Rostved? (Seeing as you are in Denmark.) I just want to make sure everyone will be able to make it. Also can you PM me your PSN name so that I can add you as a friend.

Looks like we have 4 now. I have added juan and turbotim to my friends. We should try to get together sometime this weekend to practice a bit. Anytime Saturday after 4PM EST works for me.

Right now I am looking at 7PM EST (-5 GMT). So that is 00:00 GMT (midnight). Let me know if that works for you. The full qualifying and race should take about 45 mins.

Good point :) And thanx. If it can be one or maybe two hours before, it would be great, but if not, then i'll try to make it happen at 7 PM EST.
 
Looks like we can start getting things setup as we now have 7 people. I added a poll to the start of the thread so we can vote on Tuesday or Thursday. Everyone please vote so that we can set the day. Thanks.
 
Great. Looks like we have 9 now. So far it is looking like Thursday will be the day. The voting on the poll will end on Monday so that is when I will finalize it. The first race will be 276HP JDM cars at Tokyo R246. Any parts and tuning EXCEPT for HP mods and race modification is allowed. List of acceptable cars includes NSX, Skyline, Evo, Impreza, 3000GT, Supra, RX7, Fairlady Z, Silvia, Celica, etc. I will add all drivers as friends today.

JDM stands for Japanese Domestic Market. I figured this would be an easy set of cars with many choices that are very close performance and cost. All JDM cars are limited to 276HP and all are above 1200kg. It gives a wide variety of MR, FR, and AWD cars to choose from while keeping performance very similar.

I leave a week from Wednesday, so if we do this on Tuesday I'll be able to play the first two weeks. If its Thursday, then I'll be in for the first week and then gone for two weeks.

How long will this run for?

For the first season I am thinking 5 weeks for 5 races. If you will be gone that is OK. You will probably knock yourself out of contention for the prizes, but it will still be fun.
 
I'm in. But I'm unavailable every thursday so if u decide to do it on thursdays, I'm gonna back out but if u do tuesday instead, ill come every week.

Hmm... Guess I have to confirm you as a friend even though I sent the invite to you. I'll check it out when I get home from work.
 
OK. I'm updating the driver list for the latest additions. We have 16 now and that is the max allowed for GT5 races. This will be one crazy mother. LOL.

I have noticed a discrepancy on the hp number for some of the cars. For example, I bought an '02 Skyline GT-R V-spec Nur that was rated at 276HP when I bought it but when I looked at it in my garage it was at 326HP in my garage. I also have a "276HP" Evo that shows 294HP in my garage. Because of this I am going to up the HP maximum to 350HP and I will allow engine tuning. I will also open it up to cars from other countries. Minimum weight is set to 1200kg.

I also see that the Thursday date has won and we will begin on Thursday at 7 PM EST. I will open the lobby and send invites at around 6:45 PM. We will free run until 7:15 for practice. At that point I will reset the lobby for a free run qualifying. We will have 10 mins for qualifying. That should give people about 5 laps. The 10 lap race will commence thereafter.

I will update the 1st post to include the changes. See you all there!
